The 2016 Indonesia Soccer Championship A season (also known as the Torabika Soccer Championship presented by IM3 Ooredoo for sponsorship reasons)[1] was the unofficial top-tier football competition in Indonesia.[2] It began on 29 April and ended on 18 December 2016.
Changes from 2015
[edit]Name changes
[edit]- Persipasi Bandung Raya were relocated to Pamekasan and renamed Madura United.[3]
- Persiram were bought by the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and relocated to Bandung as PS TNI.[4]
- Persebaya ISL were (after temporary name changes to Persebaya United, Bonek, and Surabaya United, following an injunction to use the name Persebaya) renamed to Bhayangkara Surabaya United (as a merger with Indonesian National Police club PS Polri).[5] On 10 September 2016, Bhayangkara Surabaya United changed name to Bhayangkara and were relocated to Sidoarjo.[6]

Notes:
- Arema Cronus held several of their home matches at Gajayana.
- Madura United held several of their home matches at Gelora Ratu Pamelingan. They also held their punishment and home matches when the election of village heads in Bangkalan occurred at Gelora Delta.[7][8]
- Persela held their home matches at Gelora Delta and Gajayana due to the renovation of Surajaya.[9]
- Persib held their home matches at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api starting from week 7 because Si Jalak Harupat was renovated for 2016 Indonesian National Games (PON XIX).[10] Also several home matches at Pakansari and Wibawa Mukti.[11][12] But they back again to Si Jalak Harupat since week 28 as 2016 Indonesian National Games (PON XIX) have ended.[13]
- Persija used Manahan as their home ground since week 12 because Gelora Bung Karno was renovated for 2018 Asian Games.[14][15] They also held several of their home matches at their opponent's ground.[16]
- PS TNI held their first two home matches at Siliwangi before they moved to Pakansari. They also held several of their home matches at Wibawa Mukti[17][18][19][20]
