Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Russian submarine Losharik, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lenta (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 19:51, 10 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for reading my message and protecting page Battle of Rzhev from unexplained or hate reverts. Meliodas Sama (talk) 01:49, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It is quite possible that Meliodas_Sama (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · target logs · block log · list user · global contribs · central auth · Google) is a sock of some banned user. There is at least one another sock: Chùa Tam Chúc (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · target logs · block log · list user · global contribs · central auth · Google). One User edits since 2006 the other from 2017. Neither of them were ever blocked for sockpuppeting. Their interests seems to intersect but they are not identical. While it is always possible that two accounts belong to the same user it has to be proven by a Checkuser Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations. Alex Bakharev (talk) 06:58, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Alex Bakharev: and @Ruslik0:, as I suspected, Meliodas Sama belongs to a previous sock that I had to dealt with. Apparently, over 1'200 accounts on viwiki have been linked to this person.... Regards, Wildkatzen (talk) 20:29, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the headup. I have blocked the IP 125.212.244.152 as well as it is obviously only used by the same user. Alex Bakharev (talk) 23:58, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Alex Bakharev, sorry to disturb you once more, but I have the suspicion that the person previous blocked crop out on a sleeper account to restore challenged edits 1. The editor was also active on viwiki but now blocked. How to proceed? Thanks Wildkatzen (talk) 23:14, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have blocked him or her per WP:DUCK Alex Bakharev (talk) 02:43, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Emil Adelkhanov

[edit]

Hi Alex, thank you for editing the article Emil Adelkhanov, and leaving me a note with recommendations about it. I didn't know the subject personally by I've spoken to three of his family members including his daughter. The info I put in the article comes from them as well as the links I provided. I don't see a reason for not trusting them with it, but unfortunately I don't have an online evidence from the other sources which would confirm some of it, sorry. I understand the rules and if some information has to be removed, it would be totally fine. Regarding the photo and the question about Georgian or Russian spelling of the subject's name - I'll ask the family members. Thank you again for helping me with this article. Vandalism

[edit]

Namaste! Sir. For the past few days, Wikipedia has been vandalized by targeting a particular caste or dynasty native to India. already restricted user HinduKshatrana is teaming up with his other companions to challenge the Wikipedia articles related to Yadava dynasty. Please, check his contributions history and take appropriate steps in this matter and apply a longer restriction on this user HinduKshatrana.Thank you. --hardhrol 07:21, 17 July 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hardhrol (talkcontribs) [reply]

  • Sorry, I am not very familiar with the subject not with the specific restriction acting there. The disruptive edits and edit warring I have noticed only deserve 60h. Probably another admin more familiar with area could help you more. If you do not know one please go to WP:AN/I. Good luck Alex Bakharev (talk) 13:42, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bots Newsletter, August 2019

[edit]
Bots Newsletter, August 2019

Greetings!

Here is the 7th issue of the Bots Newsletter, a lot happened since last year's newsletter! You can subscribe/unsubscribe from future newsletters by adding/removing your name from this list.

Highlights for this newsletter include:

ARBCOM
  • Nothing of note happened. Just like we like it.
BAG

BAG members are expected to be active on Wikipedia to have their finger on the pulse of the community. After two years without any bot-related activity (such as posting on bot-related pages, posting on a bot's talk page, or operating a bot), BAG members will be retired from BAG following a one-week notice. Retired members can re-apply for BAG membership as normal if they wish to rejoin the BAG.

We thank former members for their service and wish Madman a happy retirement. We note that Madman and BU Rob13 were not inactive and could resume their BAG positions if they so wished, should their retirements happens to be temporary.

BOTDICT

Two new entries feature in the bots dictionary

BOTPOL
  • Activity requirements: BAG members now have an activity requirement. The requirements are very light, one only needs to be involved in a bot-related area at some point within the last two years. For purpose of meeting these requirements, discussing a bot-related matter anywhere on Wikipedia counts, as does operating a bot (RFC).
  • Copyvio flag: Bot accounts may be additionally marked by a bureaucrat upon BAG request as being in the "copyviobot" user group on Wikipedia. This flag allows using the API to add metadata to edits for use in the New pages feed (discussion). There is currently 1 bot using this functionality.
  • Mass creation: The restriction on mass-creation (semi-automated or automated) was extended from articles, to all content-pages. There are subtleties, but content here broadly means whatever a reader could land on when browsing the mainspace in normal circumstances (e.g. Mainspace, Books, most Categories, Portals, ...). There is also a warning that WP:MEATBOT still applies in other areas (e.g. Redirects, Wikipedia namespace, Help, maintenance categories, ...) not explicitely covered by WP:MASSCREATION.
BOTREQs and BRFAs

As of writing, we have...

  • 20 active BOTREQs, please help if you can!
  • 14 open BRFAs and 1 BRFA in need of BAG attention (see live status).
  • In 2018, 96 bot task were approved. An AWB search shows approximately 29 were withdrawn/expired, and 6 were denied.
  • Since the start of 2019, 97 bot task were approved. Logs show 15 were withdrawn/expired, and 15 were denied.
  • 10 inactive bots have been deflagged (see discussion). 5 other bots have been deflagged per operator requests or similar (see discussion).
New things
Other discussions

These are some of the discussions that happened / are still happening since the last Bots Newsletter. Many are stale, but some are still active.

Rumi

[edit]

Dear Alex I believe Rumi was burn, live and died in Grator Iran and he was an Iranian resident.when we talking about someone and we are outside of his living area we say his nationality is.... when you tell he was from Greator Khorasan some afghan or tajik think he was afghn or tajik although Afghanistan and Tajikestan wasn't countries on that period of time. as a result Turkish think he was a turk because he died in Ghunieh locatted in nowadays turkey. I can understand someone editing wiki page as a business to make Equivocal words to confuse some nation to be ready for argument and maybe cultural war. I hope caould make clear your mind.so you are British not Manchesterish or Londonish.sorry for my English level.

Metro (board game) in User:AlexNewArtBot/WomeninredSearchResult

How and why did Metro (board game) end up in User:AlexNewArtBot/WomeninredSearchResult? Was it because the text includes the word "Queen", which has nothing to do with actual queens but instead the publishing company Queen Games? JIP | Talk 00:14, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
