DYK for Quiz (play)

On 5 May 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Quiz (play), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the audience of the play Quiz acts as the jury for a fictionalised version of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? "coughing major"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Quiz (play). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Quiz (play)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

2018 US Open Cup

Is there a reason for this edit?

14:56 2018 U.S. Open Cup‎ (diff | hist) . . (+17)‎ . . Blethering Scot (talk | contribs) (Disambiguated: 2018 U.S. Open → 2018 U.S. Open (disambiguation)) [rollback] (Tag: Dispenser [1.0])

All this does is lead to a redirect that sends you back to 2018 U.S. Open page that gives you the options for where you might want to go. Just trying to understand why this is a beneficial edit? Chris1834 Talk 23:47, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

2018 U.S. Open shows as a non intentional link to a disambiguation page on reports and will show on DabSolver as requiring disambiguation, however 2018 U.S. Open (disambiguation) does not. It is my understanding that this is the correct format for linking to disambiguation pages intentionally. Blethering Scot 16:37, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about 2018–19 Scottish Challenge Cup

Hello, Blethering Scot,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether 2018–19 Scottish Challenge Cup should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2018–19 Scottish Challenge Cup .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Atsme📞📧 19:29, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

Michael Curry

I'm not sure what you were trying to do on Michael Curry (bishop) and it doesn't seem like you were either. Are you a bot or making automated edits? Jonathunder (talk) 23:44, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

New Page Patrol?

Hi Blethering Scot,

I've recently been looking for editors to invite to join New Page Patrol, and from your editing history, I think you would be a good candidate. Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; we could use some additional help from an experienced user like yourself.

Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? (After gaining the flag, patrolling is not mandatory. One can do it at their convenience). But kindly read the tutorial before making your decision. If you choose to apply, you can drop an application over at WP:PERM/NPR.

Cheers, and hope to see you around, — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 21:09, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

Re: Hearts Kits

Hey Blethering, I had a bash at the home and away kits. Bearing in mind these are done in MS Paint so they're not the highest quality! I'm not convinced the home sleeves are correct, but I can't find a clear picture which shows the exact colours.

Home
Away

This source says that the shorts and socks for the away kit will be silver - I'd presume they'll be the same shade of silver as is on the shirt, but if it or the design is different then give me a shout and I'll correct it! Exxy (talk) 22:28, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

You recently messaged me threatening to block me from wikipedia due to vandalism. I just thought id take the time to ask how that I have merited this treatment, I am more than happy to mend my ways to be in line with the Wikipedia community but every message i have sent you has fallen on deaf ears. Please if you have no intention of helping me and only threatening me with blocking every time i ask for help with guidelines I will have to speak to someone else. Naomi Osaka nationality/ethnicity

Hello, and thank you for contributing to the Rfc at Talk:Naomi Osaka. It may or may not interest you to know that an additional option was added (by me) after you made your contribution(s).
This is not a canvas, just an invitation to have another look at the RfC if you're interested. Regards. Scolaire (talk) 15:51, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:29, 8 October 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Blethering Scot. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
