Catlin, the one time when you did reply to a talk page message was almost two years ago, so you very likely don't remember it at all, but even so, I will give you an answer now, as it may still help to make clear to you some of the reasons why many editors regard your editing as unconstructive. The editor Yankees76 posted a message to you, which you can still higher up on this page, in the section "October 2012", describing you as "vandalizing" an article. I don't think that "vandalize" was a helpful word to use, as I have no reason to doubt that you were editing in perfectly good faith, but there were problems with your edit, and it would have been more helpful if Yankees76 had explained to you what the problems were, instead of just calling your editing "vandalism". I will try to help you now, by telling you what I see as problems in that edit, and why I do not see your reply to Yankees76 as dealing with those problems.

In this edit you removed some content of the info box in the article Closing Time (Semisonic song), under the heading "Genre". When you received the message from Yankees76, you replied on that editor's talk page, saying "One page the genre consisted of "Alternative rock" and "alternative pop" which both link to the same exact page therefore there is no difference." Unfortunately, that reply misses several points.

"Alternative Pop" was not the only genre you removed, as you also removed "Indie Rock" and "pop rock". An answer that mentions only part of what you did, ignoring other parts, is not a complete answer.
Even if two differently worded descriptions both link to the same Wikipedia article, that does necessarily mean that it is not worth having them both in an article, as they are there for readers to see them where they are, as well as to link to other articles that have further information. What you said about them both linking to the same article might justify unlinking one of them, say by replacing "[[Alternative Pop]]" with just "Alternative Pop", but it does not justify completely removing the mention of "Alternative Pop".
As well as removing the genres, you removed two references, and nowhere at any time did you explain what you thought was wrong with those references. If you remove another editor's contribution, you need to explain why.

I see that as well as only once ever making any attempt to explain your editing on a talk page, you also never use edit summaries to explain what you are doing. Whenever you edit an article, you should put a brief statement of what you are doing in the box labelled "Edit summary" below the editing area of the page. This gives other editors an idea what you are doing and why. If any edit needs more explanation than the edit summary box has room for, you should post on the article's talk page. If you have good reason to believe that an edit is likely to be controversial, that is to say other editors are likely to disagree, then it is essential to explain your reason, not just advisable. In your case, after the large number of messages you have received about changing genres without discussion or sources, you cannot possibly be unaware that the sort of changes you have been making certainly are controversial.

I hope these comments may be helpful to you in understanding the sort of changes you should make in to your approach to editing, so that you can fit into Wikipedia's accepted methods when your block expires, or better still when you make a successful request for an unblock, which I hope you will do soon.
