Lalji Singh and FA

Hello again, let me tell you about FA. Featured articles are considered the most finest articles that Wikipedia can provide the readers. There are more than 4,000,000 articles on Wikipedia out of which only 4K are featured articles. They are reviewed by more than 1 reviewers and they need to pass our WP:Featured article criteria. Unlike Good articles, featured articles are listed at WP:FAC (timing of the process are determined by FAC coordinators) where many reviewers review an article at the same time. If consensus reaches among the reviewers and nominators; The article is promoted to FA by the coordinators. Things you need to address before advancing for FA: Your article needs copyediting to make it read as professional as possible. As most of the reviewers are non Indians, the article should be free from Indian English. Another most important thing is the article doesn't mention anything about the subjects personal life other than the name of the subject's wife and children (not in-depth). FA articles need to be well researched and should not miss any important fact. As the subject is a living person, you need to find every major details. The prose of the lead must be more engaging. Source no. 28 is invalid, it should be used as note using templates like Template:Efn and it should be verifiable. You have to remove "Dr." from the article as per WP:CREDENTIAL. This was followed by DNA fingerprinting based resolution of hundreds of civil and criminal cases, including cases such as the assassination case(s) of Beant Singh and Rajiv Gandhi,[24] Naina Sahni Tandoor murder case,[25] Swami Premananda,[26][27] and Swami Shraddhananda case(s),[28] Priyadarshini Mattoo murder case,[29] etc - There should not be a "etc" in the article, "etc" means the article doesn't give in-depth information i.e. the article is still incomplete. I fill go ahead and look for more things that need to be fixed. Hope this helps! Best, Jim Carter (from public cyber) 08:26, 23 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for commentary dear @Jim Carter:. I think, I would work on this! Shall I do this or rather than this I consider to move ahead and do couple of more GA at this stage? Educationtemple (talk) 12:31, 23 January 2015 (UTC)

@Jim Carter:, I have corrected some issues that you highlighted above: Corrected source no 28, deleted the words - 'Dr' and 'etc' and corrected the spelling of 'fourth'. Cheers! Educationtemple (talk) 19:00, 23 January 2015 (UTC)

It depends on you, if you wish to improve this further then I suggest you to take the article to WP:Peer review. There reviewers will point out what are the main problems, once issues are fixed, you can take it to FA and the chances of passing the FA review will be high. Cheers, Jim Carter 04:29, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

@Jim Carter:, I shall work on two or three small articles which are important in Indian context. Let the DYK for Lalji Singh pass. As for improving Lalji Singh even further, I dont think, I left any corner of internet to do research about him, and more than this is not available about him. I also dont think that any offline content is available that could shed more light on his personal life except 2-3 science books where he is one of the authors. If I understand correctly, these books can not be a good source on Wiki since these are considered as primary source? Am I right? So, I drop the idea of him nominating for FA at present until more detail is available about his in online and offline sources.

Hope I continue to get your support here on wiki for my other works! Please let me know, if I could help for any of your tasks on wiki including the content improvement for any article on subjects of science, Indian history or Indian law. rgds. Educationtemple (talk) 07:38, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

GA review for Sunil Kumar Verma part II

Dear friend @W.carter:, the article Sunil Kumar Verma was reviewed for GA. There were suggestions and now I had addressed most of them! I would love if you give a touch up to the article, please.....! Hope I did not mess it up completely! I shall request Philg88 for copyedit at the last! Educationtemple (talk) 14:43, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

Hello! Sorry, I didn't see this until now. For the 'ping' to work you have to write the name of the recipient (correctly) and sign with the four tildes during the same edit. So since you had this done in two edits, the 'ping' did not go through to me. A bit of a bother, I know, but keep that in mind. :) I will take another look at the article when I feel more rested sometime this weekend. I like to have a clear head so I can do a good job. Best, w.carter-Talk 21:18, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

You are wonderful @W.carter:! I liked all of your 'ce' changes. Much better now! Educationtemple (talk) 06:01, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

@W.carter:, In the lead it reads --

Verma had done his D.Phil. in Medical oncology from the University of Oxford and has worked in the areas of Wildlife conservation and Signal transduction in cancer.

It appears from sentence as if these two areas, 'wildlife conservations' and 'signal transduction' both belong to cancer. How to make it clear? Where to put comma? or say -- two distinct areas of 'wildlife conservation' and 'signal transduction in cancer' Educationtemple (talk) 06:09, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I simply switched them around, I think that sounds better. I have done as much as I can, but there are still a few places in the text that I'm not quite sure of, let's hope that Philg88 can set the rest right. Best, w.carter-Talk 10:11, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
Hi @W.carter:, thanks for this. I sent it over to Philg88 and J.Carter for comments. Hope for best! Cheers! Educationtemple (talk) 10:39, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

Hello @W.carter:. All the edits done by Philg88 were wonderful! He just finished. I shall now apply for GAR. Educationtemple (talk) 08:31, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

GAR for Sunil Kumar Verma initiated

Done WP:GAR for Sunil Kumar Verma initiated. All the senior editors are invited to please comment! Thanks. Educationtemple (talk) 09:46, 1 February 2015 (UTC)

You have done a mistake, Educationtemple. Currently I'm on and off. That means I'm not available much. But I was wondering how things are going with you and when I investigated, I found you have made a mistake. You have nominated Sunil Kumar Verma article for reassessment, instead of nominating it for normal review process. Reassessment are done only when an article was a former good article but in this case it was never a good article. Now, go at the articles talk page and remove the reassessment tag and then add {{db-g7}} in the GA review page, here. Now renominate it again, in the same way you did before. And don't create the GA page, it will be created by the reviewer only, not by the nominator. As I'm not available much, you should ask Mr. Sherlock Holmes or Baker street irregular when in trouble. Cheers, Jim Carter 12:04, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Oh! I am sorry @Jim Carter:. I added GAR tag since it was mentioned by @AntanO: (here) during previous review, while replying to one of your comment. I have now corrected the mistake as per your kind suggestions step-by-step and the article Sunil Kumar Verma is nominated again for GA review following the same procedure as it was done before. Hope I did not do a mistake this time! Hope, it has correctly addressed all the issues raised by AntanO during previous review and the article has improved now to GA quality! Cheers! Educationtemple (talk) 16:10, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Don't be sorry, Educationtemple. I hope this time your article will pass GA review. Best, Jim Carter 14:01, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

DYK for Lalji Singh

Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 12:01, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Nice! How very appropriate that it is on the front page right now, with the dispute and everything. Best, w.carter-Talk 12:15, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks @W.carter:, I am happy! I would like to see the click count tomorrow! This gives a confidence that hard work on an article can always pay and there are kind people around like you, @Philg88:, @Jim Carter: and many other senior editors - to guide! I wish, next DYK would be credit on the discovery of DNA barcoding! The news though got stuck, there are no updates from today's news papers. Educationtemple (talk) 12:27, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Congrats! Mujhe accha laaga ki aapko Wikipedia ka community pasaand aya. I hope you will keep doing the good work. And excuse my use of Hindi here. :) Jim Carter 13:53, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Mashaallah, aap to achchi hindi bol lete hai janaab @Jim Carter: sahib! Jai Ho... Educationtemple (talk) 13:57, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

I just try. Mujhe utna achcha Hindi nehi aata main mera dostow se skha hun. Mujhe German Aur Welsh achchi aati hain, hindi utni achchi aati nehi. I suggest you to also try Hindi Wikipedia as well. Best, Jim Carter 14:05, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
Take care I don't start using Modern Gutnish here. There is no translation program in the world that can handle that gibberish! w.carter-Talk 14:08, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

It is very difficult to read and understand hindi though! Specially the translated hindi! "Search" is "Talash" in hindi but on hindi wiki it says "Khoj" on the right top. "Khoj" is "discovery". Online hindi fonts are also in infant stage. Just "mangal" font! I like sanskrit but there are no many teachers left who could teach sanskrit. Happy week end to you all my dear virtual friends in the world of wiki.. I keep imagining, how you all look like in real world! Spending time on wiki's virtual world in though much better than chatting on chat engines - for example yahoo, where we dont learn anything and dont create anything.....(hope Yahoo is not reading and listening to this!) Educationtemple (talk) 14:32, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

This is as close as you will ever come to learn what I'm like IRL. Xb Best, w.carter-Talk 14:43, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
Educationtemple, W.carter,
Don't be surprised when I say that a huge number of prolific editors here are far more older than you might think. Many of them are retired professors and lecturer. Even Nobel prize winner. On the other hand there are many editors around who in real life are notable enough to (film actors) have their articles here. Don't be amazed if the person you're talking is not your age or a nomal person but a film actor or Nobel prize winner. Cheers, Jim Carter 04:34, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Amazing! If a person does anything great, notable job, wiki is the place for them. But wiki editors do notable, marvelous job everyday. @W.carter: and @Philg88: have written more than a dozen (may be more) wonderful articles. You have done thousands of editing, written articles, to the extent that if they all club together, it will become a wonderful book and I now notice that I myself by all capacities of head and heart try to contribute on wiki as much I can. No one asked me to do this. Yesterday, in my overjoy, I just mentioned to a friend that the article expended and researched by me is on the front page on wiki. The friend was happy and as a usual way, she started congratulating me. WOW, you will also become famous due to this, she said. How to explain her, that it is not to become famous, it is not a book which may bring bookers prize one day for its author. I just smiled and kept quite. Why we, as an editor of wiki dont thrust and lust for name, fame etc as in real life - I know the answer partially, but this is an unexplored, unresearched human behavior. Natural human instinct is to be known, to be popular but here, that natural instinct seems to be at the lowest stage of its evolution! I write a letter to that actor, or nobel laureate, it may never even reach his or her office and it would be a millennium's event if I get a reply. But here, the same actor, the same nobel laureate give instant reply, instant comment, extend instant help if it is required. The one who is doing this is not that actor, or nobel laureate or professor, he is someone else inside him. Who is he. This is a matter of research. The question is - can we enhance that "Unknown" inside us in our real life too? If yes, this world will become a beautiful place to live - no egos, no violence no fights and no crime after all (not good for my profession of law - LOL). Educationtemple (talk) 05:36, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Well Educationtemple, is seems that you have the right drive and instincts that a really good Wikipedian should have. On the WP we are all Clark Kent :) And Jim, those "famous" people I have met (and you meet a lot just by living on Gotland since everyone comes here) are also just normal people who like to have some time with a "normal life", so naturally the WP is attractive to them. But I remember another kind of funny comment on one user page where a newbie (can't remember who) wrote something like this: 'I am a well known professor and official speaker, held in high regard by society. None of this has meant anything to my teenage daughters but when I started writing for the Wikipedia, their respect for me soared! Happy father.' w.carter-Talk 08:41, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Agree! For the light side - I want to be father of two daughters now, quickly! Educationtemple (talk) 12:26, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

@W.carter: I share a funny thing with you. During DYK session yesterday for Lalji Singh someone changed the word "father" to "grandfather of DNA fingerprinting". This was later corrected by another editor. The IP who did this change was from Bangalore of India (see). There were few more minor corrections. Educationtemple (talk) 12:34, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

An article on the main page is always a target for vandalism. The editors who corrected the things were admins. They always keep a close look on articles that are on that page. w.carter-Talk 15:14, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

DYK

More on DYKs

The Wikipedia article traffic statistics is up and running again. :) You got a very nice 2541 views for the DYK on Lalji Singh. w.carter-Talk 12:56, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

That is a good news dear @W.carter:. This is a good number.

Today is Mahashivaratri festival in India. Lord Shiva married with Godess Parvati on this day. People do fasting and they eat only fruits on this day and whole night too for tonight. I too fasted and prayed to Lord shiva and mother Parvati. Now after taking shower, I will decorate the temple with flowers and pray to Lord. Educationtemple (talk) 13:32, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Have a happy festival! I envy you, here it is winter and very cold. No flowers and very little fruit. w.carter-Talk 13:50, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
I thought Mahashivaratri is only celebrated by womens. @W.carter: You are lucky that it is cold there, during summer it is more than 46° C in Delhi if I'm not wrong. Jim Carter 14:07, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
@Jim Carter:@Philg88: The cold is in no way keeping tempers from flaring though. Due to grown men fighting over pastry names (no, I'm not kidding) the article Danish pastry is now fully protected for three days. Sometimes I'm really ashamed of my brethren. Oh dear ... - w.carter-Talk 20:22, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
Surely you mean Swedish pastry, kompis ...  Philg88 talk 21:47, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
Did you really think you could bait me that easily? >snicker< w.carter-Talk 21:58, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Alas, most of the time I dont understand what is said!! I may be a creature of other planet! Educationtemple (talk) 07:54, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

My friend, it was never our intention to exclude you, so I'll explain. I had noticed the sad situation where some editors (from Sweden and Denmark) were disputing over names of different pastry in the article Danish pastry so much that it had to be protected from editing for three days. This kind of editing and protecting usually only occurs on controversial articles about political or religious subjects, so this arguing seemed rather silly. In his answer to me, Philg88 tried to trick me into starting a new argument about pastry names here. I realized that and teased him back. It was just friendly bantering. We are all from very different cultures here (we who post here on your talk page), I find it even more amazing that we understand each other as well as we do most of the time. Must be our mutual love for writing and knowledge. w.carter-Talk 09:00, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks my friend, I am touched! Educationtemple (talk) 14:58, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Breakthrough from Sweden et al

Dear @W.carter:, glad to share with you the latest finding from a Swedish university. My robot just posted this in my inbox. A new new bacteria has been discovered interestingly from the gut of disease causing mosquitoes. Scientists are thinking that this bacteria protect mosquitoes from diseases that they spread in human and other animal hosts. They think that they can exploit this bacterial to fight against malaria! Interesting!

More interesting for me is the name of the family, which is Thorselliaceae, after the name of a great Swedish Prof. Thorsell, who discovered mosquito repellant for Swedish army in 1970s! He is now 95 yr old!

I dont see any article about either of these two on wiki - neither professor Thorsell, nor the Thorselliaceae (of course it is discovered yesterday only). I wish, if we both could work on this project and let the world know about Prof Thorsell and his life time work for the world! Views? Educationtemple (talk) 15:06, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

@W.carter: - last minute Update: WP is much faster than me! A dedicated article on Thorselliaceae has been initiated already today at 10 O clock. But still there is nothing about Prof. Thorsell. Educationtemple (talk) 15:11, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Correction: And Prof. Thorsell is also available on Spanish Wiki here. Spanish???

Sorry! Swedish. Educationtemple (talk) 15:29, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
There is in fact an article about her (the Prof. is a woman) at Swedish WP sv:Walborg Thorsell. I'll see if I have time to translate it for the EngWP later when I get home from work tonight. (If it is not started by someone else by then) It might be good to have it here since it is breaking news. I can lay the foundation and you can help adding to it. w.carter-Talk 15:20, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Oh! Good to know that Prof. Thorsell is a woman. I could not guess it from name!

Yes, please do this, translate and I will enhance it to the max, I can. This is the way we can know more about her! Is she alive? Educationtemple (talk) 15:29, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

It seems so, at least according to her article. Yes, the name is difficult. It is an old Swedish Valkyrie name. I'll get on it tonight. Have to work now. See ya' w.carter-Talk 15:36, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Well, it's up and running now. Unfortunately, since it is a translation of a Swedish article the references are rather scrawny (as is very commons in SweWiki). It would be very nice if you could start by finding some proper ones to add. I'll be AFK for a while now, but I'll be back later. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 18:21, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Delay

I am extremely for delayed response. Some personal issues were blocked me for editing at Wiki and I was unable to review your article. Now I am happy to see that review on progress. Still I watch your article and I would help you as per reviewer's suggestion. --AntonTalk 17:01, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Antano. Jethro is giving me tough time at present. Lets see! Educationtemple (talk) 19:31, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

We are cheering you on! :)

Hello! Just wanted to drop a line and say that I am following your progress on Talk:Sunil Kumar Verma/GA3. You are doing fine! Don't loose heart, sometimes these reviews are harder that the others, but having a Good Article makes it all worth it in the end. All the best, w.carter-Talk 11:25, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

So nice! Thank you @W.carter:. Educationtemple (talk) 12:41, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

I know I am your reviewer, but I also just want to also reinforce with W.carter that you are indeed doing great. I know some of my feedback might sound a little tough, but I don't want to make it sound like you haven't put in honest and hard work into putting this article together. You certainly have! I appreciate your responses to my feedback, and I'm confident this is headed toward a GA. I, JethroBT drop me a line 21:46, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Dear @I JethroBT:, though it was tough, I really enjoyed entire exercise! Many of the things you highlighted were really educational for me, not only to learn and understand "Wiki" in a better way, but also to learn about my subject. You were intelligent to point out each and every line where "I was lazy" and did not do enough home work as per the standard of "Wiki". You indeed made me to do this, and I am grateful to you for the same. I am sure, I learned a lot from this exercise. A big Thank You!!

You can see that I have now tried to address all the points you have highlighted. Hope, I am going to have a "good day", some times this week and celebrate with my friends on "Wiki" my second GA! Educationtemple (talk) 02:07, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank @I JethroBT:. I did address the latest comments too in line to your suggestions. Hope all well now. It was great that you could conclude the entire UPT/DNA barcoding dispute just in 2 sentences! I did very minor modifications in those specific sentences, hope they are OK. Cheers! Educationtemple (talk) 12:19, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

It was ok

The edits at Lalji Singh really was ok, once I understood what the editor had done. It is indeed a streamlining, not something that all editors would use, and I would not recommend it in the future since many editors might react in the same way that we did. In those cases where there was a WP article about the paper, this user simply combined the "publisher" and "website" into one parameter since the "website" is stated in the article about the newspaper. So it is in fact included after all. Elegant, but a bit unusual. Best, w.carter-Talk 15:05, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Oh! Got it! It is all right, though. We thanked him. How are you by the way! I really enjoyed working on new GA nominee article. It is almost done, but it was so tough!!

Anything challenging at your end? Educationtemple (talk) 15:11, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Lots of challenges in my real life right now, I afraid. That is why I have not been as active as I should be lately. That is, no research and such, just trying to help out with this and that. Things will be like this for a week or two and after that they are hopefully back to normal. Best, w.carter-Talk 15:17, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

You are brave and our best wishes are with you. In India, whenever we have problems, we pray to a tree, older the tree, better it is. Trees can help resolve the problems easily. I know you are smiling.... Educationtemple (talk) 15:28, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I am smiling, but not in the way you might think. I smile because I recognize this. In many ways Swedes are actually very Buddhist. We live by "the middle way" and revere nature. You should read an explanation a had to make for another editor during one of my GAs. It's here. Namaste, w.carter-Talk 15:35, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
Also we teach our small children, that if they ever get lost (not all of Sweden is populated and the woods in Sweden are very large) they should go and hug the largest tree they see. The tree will give them comfort and shelter and it will be easier for the people searching for the child to find it. Just look for large trees. :) So we all grow up with a very special relationship to trees. This article, the Elm Conflict, shows what can happened. w.carter-Talk 15:57, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Dear @W.carter:, good to know this! Thats why your country is great! In India, everyone is hungry for money, and for that they can do anything, even destroy the trees, sell them, cut them, steal them and finally put the forest in fire to finish all evidences and show in the register that trees burnt in forest fire!

I see that Sunil Kumar Verma is GA now! congratulations to you! All the hard work, we have been doing on this since last almost 5-6 months! I remember you were always with me. Thank you again.

I will write thanks to everyone, @Philg88:, @I JethroBT:, @Jim Carter: and all other editors who contributed to this article. Special thanks to @I JethroBT: and @AntanO: for expert comments. Without their time, this article cold have not be in this shape today! Thanks everyone, thank you very much.

My main computer crashed and that was the reason, I could not respond immediately. Still, I am working from my old tiny laptop to write this message. Tomorrow whole day with computer technician to get my PC repaired!

I also see that some wrong message came that article failed. I know it is a mistake and it would be corrected soon. Cheers! Have a great time ahead. Educationtemple (talk) 18:24, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Nice! And well deserved. :) You are starting to get a lot of these tokens of appreciation. Maybe you should think about starting a subpage where you move all of these things once they get archived. I have mine here. I can start it up for you if you want to. Best, w.carter-Talk 11:15, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Oh thanks @W.carter:. This will be indeed a great favor!

I also need your quick advise. I want to propose another DYK with the following hook:

"...that in February 2015, a credit dispute between universal primer technology and DNA barcoding came to light"

Will it work? GA is very new, so there will not be a technical problem. Educationtemple (talk) 12:35, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Ok, I'll fix it up for you tonight when I get home. :) I will add a link about it on your user page and also fix that up a bit.
An article can only have a DYK once regardless of the changes made to it, and this article had a DYK in December if I remember correctly. w.carter-Talk 12:43, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank dear! I look forward for a beautiful user page for me too! Wow! I am excited about that! If I remember correctly, @Philg88: said once that 2nd DYK is possible if the article gain GA status at some point (of course within 7 days of becoming GA), even if it had made a DYK before. I request "Boss" to comment again on this?? Educationtemple (talk) 12:54, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Oh! I did not know that. Let's hear what he has to say. As for your user page, are there any specific colours that you like? Maybe some kind of picture that you would like to include? w.carter-Talk 13:02, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

@W.carter: - Simple.....! Let the colours of these beautiful Barnstar(s) speak that are given to me by peers here. Is it possible to put all stars rolling from right to left (above the description), or very small size of them near the GA badges which I see in the right side, and as I get more, it appears there automatically, or manually with link to full size star. Just my imagination....bu you are free to do it the way you like. Educationtemple (talk) 14:20, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

That sounds like a rather elaborate and complicated thing. You have (and will) also received other things than barnstars for which there are no small icons. In time such pages also tend to look cluttered and untidy. The usual way to do it is to have the awards on a separate page with just a link in some form to it on the user page. I'll set up something nice, simple and elegant for you, and then you can alter and tweak it yourself later if you want to. Or you can revert it if you don't like it. :) w.carter-Talk 14:37, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Hay...I already owe you for your friendship. Dont please say that I revert it. I know, whatever you do for me, would be great and I like it. Please go ahead, but have dinner first. OK. Educationtemple (talk) 14:57, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Fixed

I have moved your awards from the archive to the new page User:Educationtemple/things I have received. If you look in Archives 1, you will find the text: Moved to User:Educationtemple/things I have received where the award used to be. As your talk page gets archived, you will have to cut and paste the awards from the archive to that subpage. I have placed the oldest at the bottom, but you can arrange them as you like. Remember to have two lines between them, otherwise they will stick together. Hope the user page is not too hideous. The color is from the barnstars as requested and I thought that the books formed a sort of "temple of education" with an opening into all that knowledge. You can tweak it all as much as you like. :) Codes for the colors are at Web colors. There's plenty of room for expansion with new things you might want to put on the page in the future. I don't think you'll have any trouble figuring out how it is built. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 21:18, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

This is just wonderful dear @W.carter:. Just beautiful. Thank you very much. Educationtemple (talk) 12:53, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Ahh! It's great to see that you have figured out how to design you page, and made it more "your". You are ever so kind in including my name on it, but there is really no need for that. If anyone is interested in seeing who made it, my name is in the page history, that is enough for me. Also nice to see that you liked the first background color. When I got to work and saw it on that screen, it looked a bit dark, that's why I changed it, but this color is better with the barnstar. Designing pages is a new part of the Wikipedia for you, and you seem to embrace it with enthusiasm and skill, just like you do with editing articles. Very nice! :) w.carter-Talk 18:43, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Dear @W.carter:...my friend...though the words I have in my dictionary to praise your kind gesture are not enough, but I have tried to express whatever I had in my heart! Hope you like this in its current state. Educationtemple (talk) 18:48, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Just to fix it a bit further, I think that you perhaps wanted to have the DYK-thing aligned in the same way as the text at the barnstar. It is a bit tricky to figure out how to make this work in a way that looks good. The "hidden" template complicates things in the table. I have tried several things and the best way was to define columns. I will make the change, and if you don't want it please revert it. Hope you don't mind me trying this out. I really like the Wiki-system where anything can be changed back if I make a mistake. :) w.carter-Talk 19:43, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

@W.carter: Wow! Do you also know how to read minds? Or we have some telepathy going on? Educationtemple (talk) 19:53, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

LOL! :D w.carter-Talk 20:05, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Sunil Kumar Verma - In the News

Dear friends - @Philg88:, @I JethroBT:, @Jim Carter:, @I JethroBT:, @AntanO:, and @W.carter::

Sunil Kumar Verma is now GA. Previously it made a DYK. Thank you all for help at different stages to bring the article to current status. Special thanks to the "tough", but "kind" reviewers I_JethroBT and AntanO who were not only fair and reasonable at all points, but bold too in taking decisions! Thanks!

Between DYK and GA, more interesting things happened that appeared in literature and in media - and most interesting was "DNA barcoding in credit dispute" and priority of UPT over DNA barcoding. This new section has been added in the article after thorough discussion in GAR. I would like to ask if "DNA barcoding in credit dispute" could go in "In the News" section? If yes, how and what is the procedure? Any help would be highly appreciated. Cheers! Educationtemple (talk) 03:24, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Hello my friend. Everything about what news may qualify for the In The News and how to nominate something for it is at Wikipedia:In the news. The process of nominating something is very similar to nominating a DYK, so you should not have any trouble doing that. But I'm afraid that the chances for this to make that section are very slim. There are only a couple of slots available each day, and other more recent events around the world with much more coverage will be considered first for those. Some months ago the Swedish government was on the brink of collapsing and new elections were announced, even such a thing that affected a whole country was not considered important enough. But do try, it might be a slow news day. Best, w.carter-Talk 10:50, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
Poor Computer... poor you...

Thanks Dear @W.carter:. I am still stuck in recovering data from my PC. Whole day wasted, still no success. Seems to be a big heart attack! But I am sure, I will do it. Tomorrow again going to see expert. Educationtemple (talk) 18:46, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Let's hope it is all salvageable. Good luck! w.carter-Talk 19:36, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Oh God! It is not that much rotten yet!

Found a software from acronis. It is on the job. Recovered 82%, hope data would be OK. Educationtemple (talk) 19:49, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Good hear your hard work towards GA, DYK, etc. You have patient and passion, and you are good listener too that makes you more better.

The following article milestones display your passion:

  • April 7, 2014 - Articles for deletion (Deleted)
  • November 10, 2014 - Deletion review (Endorsed)
  • December 23, 2014 - DYK (featured on DYK)
  • January 28, 2015 - Good article nominee (Not listed)
  • March 3, 2015 - Good article nominee (Listed)

I like your spirit of hard work. Best luck! --AntonTalk 08:33, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

Thanks @AntanO:. I look forward for your continuing support and guidance. Thanks again! Educationtemple (talk) 12:37, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

If it qualifies under DYK rules and you can come up with a new hook then there is no reason it shouldn't be accepted. Good luck!  Philg88 talk 17:10, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
@Philg88: I'm actually a bit confused here, (not an unfamiliar feeling...) about two DYKs for one article. When I got my first GA, I got this message that says "If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know." But it wouldn't be the first time that reviewer was wrong about something. I have been looking for, but could not find a clear policy for this. Best, w.carter-Talk 23:30, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
@W.carter: Yes, it is a bit confusing but by the rules of the DYK process, new articles and those promoted to GA automatically qualify for submission. That said, it is usual for there to be a reasonably long gap between the two events and in this case it may well be that the GA DYK sits in the queue without promotion for a suitable period (please don't ask me how long that is because it depends on the mood at DYK ). Cheers,  Philg88 talk 08:22, 7 March 2015 (UTC)

Have a pleasant rest

Enjoy your days of rest and relaxation. Go and find a very large tree and sit under it. We will all be here when you return. All the best, w.carter-Talk 09:30, 7 March 2015 (UTC)

DNA barcoding and Universal primer technnology

Dear @W.carter: Nominated this it "ITN" I know it will not pass - Educationtemple (talk) 20:27, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Dear @Philg88:, @W.carter:, @Ugog Nizdast:, @I JethroBT:: I have nominated this for "In the News" section. Please review if possible, and help. Thanks. Educationtemple (talk) 21:30, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Not much more we can do but, keep our fingers crossed. If it's considered a big news story it will pass, but since it is the beginning of a long process, who knows... But it is a good experience for you to do battle for your article in that section regardless of the outcome. Best, w.carter-Talk 21:50, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Thats what I thought! An editor wrote there "as this has a potential for Nobel prize in the far future". I am happy with this much since I now know that my subject and the work done by him may be great!! I did not realize to this extent!!
Another editor edited the blurb to - India's Universal Primer Technology disputes the credit for inventing DNA barcoding with the University of Guelph in Canada. I liked it compared to previous one.
As soon as I nominated, I saw "Posted" tag. Which disappeared after few minute. Was it a mistake? Educationtemple (talk) 21:56, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
The [Posted] was some sort of a glitch in the system, but it is visible in the page history. It's corrected now. Btw, you forgot to sign your last post there. w.carter-Talk 22:04, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Done. Thanks! First time, I am feeling happy on oppositions - Since I knew it will be opposed heavily at present! Educationtemple (talk) 22:08, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the invitation to review this article for ITN, but I'm not very familiar with their review procedure, and I don't have a ton of time to spare these days for editing. I, JethroBT drop me a line 22:25, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, but ITN is one area of Wikipedia that I have never dipped into. I hope it all goes well for you.  Philg88 talk 22:34, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
No probs friends. But please follow up, I shall update you any way. Cheers! Educationtemple (talk) 22:37, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi Educationtemple and friends! Congrats, Educationtemple! Sunil Kumar Verma article really looks good. And I'm sorry I missed to respond in time, I was spending sometime with my family. It looks likr you tried to feature that article on ITN but you failed. Don't be disheartened, friend. I also failed once but now, currently, one of my article is featured in the main page on ITN section (Check it out on the main page). (My first article to be featured in ITN) ;-) So, keep improving articles, you're doing good :) Best, Jim Carter 06:56, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Yes, sorry to see it fail. By the way, didn't check whether anyone has told you this before but when replying, you add a ':' in front of your post to indent it like how we did. Thus an on-going discussion might have replies progressing with '::', ':::' and so on. This is done to make it easier to read and for more information regarding it, you can see the Talk page guidelines. I've just indented this entire section for you as an example. Good day, Ugog Nizdast (talk) 13:17, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot for including the poem on the Delhi rape article. My opinion is that if India's Daughter can be mentioned there, so can this. :) Keep up the editing, cheerio, --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 09:34, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Dear @Rsrikanth05:. Since you have moved it above and liked too, I suggest to include the following as a subsection within the article at an appropriate place (feel free to edit the text). This will explain what the audio is all about. Educationtemple (talk) 10:07, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Wo Desh Ki Beti (Nation's Daughter)

On 5th of September 2014, Bandaru Dattareya - Member of Parliament and BJP National Vice President inaugurated "Wo Desh Ki Beti (Nation's Daughter)" a social event at Hyderabad showcasing the poetry written by Sunil Kumar Verma, depicting the pain of nation at the gang rape of its daughters.[1][2]

Educationtemple (talk) 10:06, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Will go thru it, reformat and add it by tonight. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 10:10, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Great. Cheers! Let the world know about "Nation's Daughter" too while they want to know about banned "India's Daughter". By the way, "Nation's Daughter" documentary was made and showcased at many places including various scientific institutions much before "India's daughter" Educationtemple (talk) 10:24, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
