The second and third paragraphs are also mostly copyvio of [1], any chance of you rewriting those bits. 89.168.207.50 (talk) 13:05, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks for pointing it out.--GDibyendu (talk) 14:56, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

What are you talking about? I never wiped out anything. I corrected the grammer and phrasing of certain sentences in those articles without altering the facts of the articles. I dont understand why your freaking out and why you felt the need to comment in the first place. The article is written poorly and needs to be written in a neutral, non-biased manner with proper grammer and tenses. Hi. Thank you for your efforts to address the infringement in this article, but I'm afraid that your removal of the {{copyvio}} template restored copyrighted text to publication. The infringement in that article is considerably older than you seem to have believed. It was added in 2005, here. Internet archives confirm its prior publication at this site. Unfortunately, it is still very much an issue in the version you restored. To restore it to a point prior to publication of infringement, we'd have to go back to this. I have restored the copyright template to the article to give contributors an opportunity to address the concerns, either by seeking permission or revising the text in temporary space. An administrator will resolve the matter after 7 days. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:17, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Teacher's Colony

[edit]

I chanced upon the article entitled Teacher's colony Deoband. To begin with, I am not sure the article should be there at all; the only fact it gives really is that Teacher's Colony [0r should it be Teachers' Colony or Teacher Colony?] is the most up-to-date part of Deoband. Even that seems very subjective, as does the statement that suggests that evryone there is educated. The names given seem to be those of the man who wrote the article (it gives a link to his website) and his friends. The English is atrocious, but there does not seem to be much point in correcting it. I thoght to include the information on the page dealing with Deoband, but there is not really any facts to transfer. Energyworm (talk) 19:46, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to find sources on the internet, but there is virtually nothing. Energyworm (talk) 20:03, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but I didn't get what you wrote on my talk page. Can you please elaborate? Thank You --Priyanka (talk) 12:23, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi

[edit]

I found that someone had replaced quite a detailed account about this scholar with a very badly-written, short, biased account; I therefore reinstated one of the previous versions, and worked on it to make it more understandable. If I can find the right reference books in my library I might add more information eventually.

Can you tell me, however, how to get a proper contents box at the head of the article? There is a contents section, but it does not look right. Also, the article, as it stands, has not been split into sections that can be individually edited. Energyworm (talk) 16:17, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Barbodhan

[edit]

I have edited the page on the Gujarati village of Barbodhan over the last few days. I was searching today for any information about Hindu residents (since everything so far is about Muslims); I came across a large company, with an obviously Hindu name, so I added a little about it under 'business'. It seems to be a very important company, and is listed on the stock exchange. Do you think it is okay? I don't want to be advertising! Also, I can't find the latitude and longitude of the village. Energyworm (talk) 22:20, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is the correct place on the Yahoo maps, and I have also found it on Google maps, but I can't find the coordinates anywhere; although they must be almost identical to those of Surat.Energyworm (talk) 10:30, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First of all thank you for your message. I appreciate it and am thankful for it. Guru coolguy's message just got me thinking on perhaps I have written enough here. I take time but I always try and deliver what fellow volunteers ask of me. Anyone can edit here, whether its someone like me who buys a book or someone who just writes what he likes without sources. Article stability will always suffer as people make edits without taking things to the talk page. I work and sometimes editing on a tight schedule makes one depressed that's all :) Once again thanks for your message. JSR 0562 19:04, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Battles of Tarain

[edit]

I have edited and merged the article on The Second Battle of Tarain with that of the First Battle of Tarain. The page on the First Battle already contained information about the second battle, and the two battles occurred within the space of two years anyway, so I think there is a good case for only having a single article. However, I now need to delete the article on The Second Battle of Tarain, and make a link so that anyone looking for the Second Battle of Tarain will be sent to the page entitled Battles of Tarain. Can you help, please? There are still one or two dubious statements in the article, but I propose to leave them at the moment until I can find sources proving that they are untrue. On the Beighton Cup Winners and Runners-up

[edit]

Hi,

I came across your contribution to the Beighton Cup article. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to update the list of Winners and Runners-up from 1895 to 2000.

Thanks,

Re: Birbhum District

[edit]

You're right - coord would not be feasible for describing the area of the district. But the coordinates of the centre are already marked in the infobox, and hence I feel there would be no need to describe the extent of the coordinates again. Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 16:02, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, reduce the precision of the measurement - accuracy to within 1' should be sufficient. My main contention is that the information should be useful to the article in some way, rather than ending up as a mere collection of stats. :-) Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 16:48, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain how a random list of books at the end of an article is any different than a random list of links? [2] As far as I can tell, we are an encyclopedia, not Oprah's book club. -- The Red Pen of Doom 11:39, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: For the bot

Hi there,

The bot is set to follow any redirects that are on any pages. However, on that page, as there was a message with a section heading already on that page, the redirect did not work, which meant that the bot added the information to that page.

Thanks,

Rail Transport in India

[edit]

May i noe why my edits were reverted??? --Enthusiast10 (talk) 16:35, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, I didnt discuss this anywhere. I agree that the last time the LS page had only the list. But I think other details pertaining to this LS can be added to the page - like the money for question scam in the 14th LS (for want of a better example) etc. I cannot think of a better place to put those kind of information. What do you think --Natrajdr (talk) 11:59, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Advice required - Protection of article needed

[edit]

Hi GDibyendu!

This message is NEW, so please pay attention. My article - Afro-Asian Games - is in danger of being deleted by certain deletionists who dislike the article. I am at a loss to know why, as I have not written anything controversial or unjust. I request you to give me a solution to this problem.

Ankitbhatt (talk) 15:58, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly do you mean by a diff?

I saw them in my talk page. I deleted them, because I thought it was better not to leave them there. Anyway, please tell me how to upgrade the security of my article.

Cheers, Ankitbhatt (talk) 06:44, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, yes, okay, SORRY! I understand. But what about the article (Afro-Asian Games)? Should I continue receiving threats and not respond? Is that it?

Ankitbhatt (talk) 07:01, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me. You have not responded. I waited 1 full day, I can't wait much longer. If you don't want to take me seriously, please tell me so - fast.

Awaiting your response (within 1 hour, hopefully) Ankitbhatt (talk) 07:41, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed the assessment report and placed my comments here. Please go through the same - the article remains on hold till June 10. Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 11:56, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
