Accepted
[edit]I accepted the article on Massimo Bacigalupo. After work from several editors, it is good enough for mainspace. it does need some additional editing to remove some remaining promotional and unsourced wording. I'll do it. However, it might till be listed for a community discussion about possible deletion--if so, you will be notified.
Pavel Branko
[edit]Hi Joan, thanks for all your good work on creating articles. I have done some clean up on Pavel Branko. I wanted to leave some pointers for you as it is much easier for you to clean up the articles that you know well. Not formatting the articles correctly creates much work for other editors. I hope these aspects of wikifying text will enable you to get your articles into mainspace quicker and will make the articles you already have in mainspace closer to meeting the guidelines. More detail is given at Help:Wiki markup. I wasn't clear from reading the article which books in your books listings are by Branko, about him, translations of his work or translations by him. It might be good to make this clearer.
- Article names, song titles, individual paintings, poems and the like are put in straight quotes, eg "The road to Westercot". Book, film, newspaper, exhibition titles etc are italicised, eg Pravda, The Guardian, The Third Man. Translations also need to be put in quotes or italics and round brackets are used (...) not square ones [...]
- Nothing is written in bold except the first mention of the subject's name. External links, publications etc are written in normal scripts.
- All lists are starred (like this list)
- We try and take out all editorial commentary and keep the article as much to encyclopaedic, neutral content as possible.
- The 'See also' section is only to list other related WP articles that have not already been mentioned in the article so far.
- The 'External links' section is for specific pages directly mentioning and featuring the subject - not general links to newspapers etc
- Weblinks are formed by putting a square bracket, the http address, the site description and closing the bracket: [http://www.pavel.branko.eu/ Branko offical website (in Slovak)].
- Using templates for adding references and weblinks are much encouraged. eg.<ref name="Time">{{cite news |first= Frederic |last= Golden |title= The Worst And The Brightest |date= 16 October 2000 |publisher= Time Warner |url= http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,998209,00.html |work=[[Time (magazine)|Time]] |accessdate=9 April 2010}}</ref>Citation templates are given here WP:CITET and buttons are offered above your editing screen.
I hope this info will be useful to you. Please leave a message on my talk page if you have any comments or questions. I am happy to help with article clean up in the future. Best wishes Span (talk) 13:26, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
- Congrats on getting your article up. It still needs some mark up, but I think it's a good asset for WP. Best wishes for your week. Span (talk) 19:29, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
Dear Spanglej ! Thank you for giving a lot of helpful, concise information. I'm still a newcomer. Hoping to improve my way of writing articles for Wikipedia. I really thank all of you for doing so much to keep Wikipedia going. A good global project indeed. JoanX.Chen (talk) 15:25, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
- My pleasure. You are doing lots of good work. Many of the created articles need quite a bit of work on the marking up side. It's not clear what are articles, magazines, exhibitions, catalogues etc. Using straight quotes and italics etc will help this formatting greatly. It helps readers to most easily navigate the text. A couple of other small things - blogs and Wikipedia articles don't fly as reliable sources, so please don't include them in links or as references. Simple headings in a few words are best. Please drop me a line if you have any questions. Happy editing. Span (talk) 18:05, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:The New German Cinema (book - in Chinese), by Yu-shan Huang.JPEG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:The New German Cinema (book - in Chinese), by Yu-shan Huang.JPEG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:19, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

The article Songs of a Mountain Town has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Proposed deletion per {{db-album}}, but was denied.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 23:31, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello JoanX.Chen,
It seems to me that an article you worked on, Magdi Youssef, may be copied from http://www.intercultural-studies.org/biography/biography.shtml. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.
It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Li Shuangze moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Li Shuangze, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources.Also, A WP article is not an autobiographical essay and further, it does not follow [{WP:MOS]]. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia).Thus, I've moved your article to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page.
