Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Lanzhou Railway Station, a page you created has not been edited in at least 180 days. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace. If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it. If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13. Hello, Livewireshock, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, East Kimberley Regional Airport, is copied from another Wikipedia page, Kununurra Airport. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 04:28, 21 August 2013 (UTC) Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give East Kimberley Regional Airport a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.[reply]

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Chinese railway stations

[edit]

I not sure if you know but the MOR of China have change all the Cardinal direction from English into pinyin ie "Beijing West Railway Station" (image - Beijing West) → "Beijingxi Railway Station" (image - Beijingxi) since October 2012 similar to Gare du Nord or "North Station" in Paris.

Also some articles about the change (North → bei, South → nan, East → dong, West → xi)

ASDFGH =] talk? 06:31, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And the Wikipedia policy for naming places, including railway stations has not changed. This is an English language website, so the general public will be searching with English place names. Also despite the policy change, all English language websites and travel documents report the station names using the English cardinal points as the primary name and not pinyin. Even the individual railway bureaus I have worked with in China still use the English cardinal points when dealing with foreign speakers.

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Ningbo East Railway Station, with this edit, without explaining why. It was by mistake. I was attempting to reverse the redirection, to comply with Wikipedia's policy for Chinese place names. From Ningbodong Railway Station to Ningbo East Railway Station, because the English name for the cardinal point should be used, rather than Pinyin name. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Nanjiang Railway Bridge, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://highestbridges.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nanjiang_Railway_Bridge.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. I'm afraid that if you did write the article at this link then you will need to supply us with evidence of that by following the instructions here before we can use the content. I've blanked the article and listed it at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2015 November 24 for this to happen, the article may be deleted if this isn't done within seven days. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nanjiang Railway Bridge requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://highestbridges.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nanjiang_Railway_Bridge. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 41st Battalion, Royal New South Wales Regiment

[edit]

G'day, just wanted to say nice work with your expansion of the 41st Battalion, Royal New South Wales Regiment article. I notice, though, that quite a bit of it is now unreferenced. Can I please ask that you add citations to where you got your information from? I think I might be able to find the Alcorn book through my work library, if that is where the information comes from, but I won't get a chance until mid- to late-Jan 18 now. Anyway, thanks for your time. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 05:28, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am collating the various resources. I have been a member of this unit for the past 24 years. Most of the material comes from the battalion war diaries held with the Australian War Memorial. Also the book written by the battalion shortly after WW1, The Forty First. I am just attempting to work out the best way to reference the exact details from the various sources and how to incorporate pictures held by our unit. Thanks Livewireshock (talk) 05:38, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
G'day, no worries, I can help you with working out the referencing if you wish. Images are probably more difficult, though, as the copyright and licensing requirements on Wikipedia can be a bit confusing (and frustrating). If they are government owned photos that were taken before 1967, or privately held photos taken before 1946, it shouldn't be an issue, but if not it can be a bit more difficult. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 05:55, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have added the citations from "The Forty-First" book. Thank you for the offer of help. The pictures are my property and there are no copyright issues, either taken by myself or other members of the unit over many years. As for finding a reference for Operation Relex, I will try to find on, because I doubt the "Cos' I was there" argument does not cut it with Wikipedia. Livewireshock (talk) 06:33, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for adding those. If possible, it would be best to add the individual page numbers, too. Regarding RELEX, perhaps there is a Media Release somewhere that mentions the battalion? In the past I have found some of these on the Defence website, here: [1]. The Army Newspaper could also have something: [2]. They are not the best sources (as they aren't independent), but it is better than nothing. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 07:14, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Nanchang–Shenzhen high-speed railway has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article documents two sections of the line being built at different times. These are already covered in Ganzhou–Shenzhen high-speed railway and Nanchang–Ganzhou high-speed railway. On top of this, the entire line is covered by Beijing–Hong Kong (Taipei) passageway.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
