Thanks for creating this article. It can be improved by adding more content on the painting, backed up by reliable sources, preferably those that can be verified online if possible (online access is not required since there are page numbers on the the two sources listed, but it may help if the article is nominated for deletion.

Attribution for The Birds (painting)
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from fr:Les Oiseaux (Louvre) to The Birds (painting). While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk pages of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 22:34, 21 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from de.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added it for you. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help Mccapra (talk) 06:57, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

Incomplete and unattributed translations
[edit]I should perhaps mention that there is no point submitting badly unfinished translations from other Wikipedias, such as (one among many) Christian Amalvi, as they will just be draftified or even deleted. If you submit completed translations, such as Germaine Veyret-Verner, for which many thanks, you should please attribute them as per WP:TFOLWP for copyright reasons. Best wishes, Ingratis (talk) 23:39, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello, MaybeItsBecauseImALondoner
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hilst, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Trees in L'Estaque, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.
If you wish to contest the deletion:
- Edit the page
- Remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- Click the button.
If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hilst}}
. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Former Enemy Aliens (Disabilities Removal) Act 1925. Hello, fellow Wikipedian!
I would first like to begin by thanking you for the ongoing translation of Poussin's Judgment of Solomon. I am the main creator of the French article, and I gotta say, it creates a funny feeling in me to see my work being translated in another language. So thank you for that.
I also wanted to share with you a glaring mistake I've made. What I thought was the third study of the Judgment is in fact just a near-contemporary copy of the work, hence why it looks very similar to the painting. I will ask to change the title on Commons, and will eventually move this artwork down in the "Drawings" section of the article. Here is a source.
Last thing I wanted to share with you is that I am presently reworking the entirety of the "Composition" section. As you may have noticed, it is essentially a mish-mash of various quotes from different authors, and it feels sketchy. My friendly advice would be to wait until I've finished with that section before translating it, or, if you feel like, create your own - we are all free to contribute as we see fit, after all. The other sections I feel are pretty much solid. I'll also rework them eventually (I'm of course planning to obtain a lil golden star for my work), but it'll be mostly cosmetic in nature - rearrange some references here and there, that sort of thing.
Thanks again for the work you're doing - it truly is a masterpiece, isn't it? ;)
Many cordialities, Witcher of Izalith 23:50, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi there! I wanted to let you know that I deleted the disambiguation page at Stanisław Grabowski and moved the Stanisław Grabowski (painter) article to that namespace. I have done this because all items listed on a disambiguation page should have a blue link per MOS:DABMENTION. When articles are created for other individuals on the list, you can recreate the disambiguation page.
Additionally, after looking at the pl:Stanisław Grabowski (malarz) article, I'm guessing you created both the disambiguation page and the Stanisław Grabowski (painter) article by translating the Stanisław Grabowski (malarz) article on the Polish Wikipedia. Please be aware that copying across Wikipedia requires attribution. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:
NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia, and you can read about how to properly translate articles across Wikipedia platforms at WP:HOWTRANS.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions. :) Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 01:19, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hello again! Given that you have not added an attribution tag to the Stanisław Grabowski article, despite actively editing since I left this message, can you confirm that you have seen this message? Thank you! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 00:59, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- ETA: I now see you added the translation template to the talk page. You also need to add an attribution notice that appears in the page history. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 01:00, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hello again! I see you have continued editing, including translating the Museum of Nature Gotha article, for which you have included a translation attribution on the Talk page. However, you have not included the necessary attribution described above. Please make sure that whenever you translate articles, you include proper attribution in the edit summary. Including proper attribution is required.
- Additionally, I notice you have included Babel userboxes on your user page. These can be really helpful! That said, you have recently translated articles from Polish, for which you do not have a Babel box, and German, in which you state you have basic proficiency. Are you using a machine translation?
