Question from JVL2023 (03:27, 27 November 2023)

Is is necessary to cite sources when updating information in a politician's info box (i.e. when their term of office or predecessors/successors have changed? --JVL2023 (talk) 03:27, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi @JVL2023, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm not an active editor in political areas—much too contentious for me—so cannot point to a policy on this, but looking at several examples (Joe Biden, Boris Johnson, Narendra Modi, etc) it seems like uncontroversial descriptions of offices held, predecessors, successors and tenure are fine to be left uncited as long as they are mentioned in the main prose. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from ZinkStns (16:36, 27 November 2023)

Hi schminnte I tried to translate some pages into turkish but it said i dont have permissions to publish it when i tried to publish it as a draft to my profile. it says "Auto-edit filters detected problematic content in your translation. Number of filters: Content translator changes" I translated the error from turkish so it might not be the same for english i also tried it on the english version of the editor and it said there are banned links on the article --ZinkStns (talk) 16:36, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi @ZinkStns, welcome. I'm not sure what you mean exactly, as I can't see any translations made by you. Are you attempting to translate to or from English? On English Wikipedia, the translation tool is restricted from new users until they have made 500 edits and have a tenure of a month. If you're wanting to translate into Turkish then that should be dealt with at the Turkish Wikipedia. So, would you mind clarifying what you mean? All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 19:06, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for the information, I was trying to translate from english to turkish. ZinkStns (talk) 17:10, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
@ZinkStns, I would recommend that you direct any other questions to the Turkish Wikipedia then. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 17:13, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from Shahvishal0106 (05:40, 27 November 2023)

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I made 13 edit out of which 10 edit is approved. Still, I am not getting the option to move an article that I have written on moneyview.

Can you help me to make the page live? --Shahvishal0106 (talk) 05:40, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Shahvishal0106. You should be able to move pages now that you are autoconfirmed. However, I have checked your edits and will urge you to stop editing the way you are; you need to bring your editing inline with our policies on reliable sources, original research and promotion. Expanding on that last point, phrases like "the company has rapidly emerged as a prominent player" and "moneyview is a leading financial technology" are promotional and not neutral. As it seems like you have a conflit of interest, I have added the banner for our Articles for Creation service, which will give extra oversight to this draft so it is neutral and encyclopedic. Please remove the promotional phrases and then follow the instructions on the banner. Please follow my instructions here, as repeated promotional editing results in a removal of editing privileges. Schminnte [talk to me] 08:06, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
Hello @Schminnte,
I made the changes as suggested by you, but still I my article was declined.
Can you review and move my article to live space? Shahvishal0106 (talk) 05:20, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
Sorry @Shahvishal0106, I forgot to mention about our notability guidelines since I was only thinking about the promotional wording. To be accepted through AfC, subjects must show notability through multiple reliable sources independent of the subject. The reviewer feels that the draft currently does not show that; I advise that you follow their advice and improve the article with references to reliable sources that talk about moneyview at length. I will not move the draft myself as I do not review on demand, however the backlog of unreviewed drafts is low so you should get a prompt response if you listen to the feedback, improve the draft and resubmit. Question from Jazzmonke (09:27, 10 December 2023)

Hi, I created a page for a local australian artist called andy penkow and now the page is missing after the review??!!! do you know why --Jazzmonke (talk) 09:27, 10 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Jazzmonke, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm not sure what you mean about the page being missing, it can be found here. Looking at the draft though, I would advise you listen to the editors on your talk page and have a look through our policy on neutrality. Question from Nambibabuu (16:59, 11 December 2023)

Hello --Nambibabuu (talk) 16:59, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Nambibabuu, welcome to Wikipedia! Is there anything you want to ask me just now? If not, you can reach out any time. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 17:05, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from 1hk21me401 (20:56, 13 December 2023)

am I doing edits correctly? if not suggest to me the better way to edit or create an article. --1hk21me401 (talk) 20:56, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @1hk21me401, welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for reaching out about your editing. I've taken a look through your edits and it seems like a good start. Copy-editing is a great place to start if you want to get used to encyclopedic writing (we have a copyediting guild here). I would remind you though to be wary of other varieties of English, as Wikipedia doesn't have one house style; for example, things like colour might not be a typo in British English, but the spelling is color in American English, and this shouldn't be made "correct". If you want to contribute more or learn about other areas of Wikipedia, I would invite you to check the welcome message left on your talk page or visit this newcomer's directory. And feel free to reach out to me any time: I'll be happy to answer any of your questions. Happy editing! Schminnte [talk to me] 22:49, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Michael Collins (clarinetist)

On 14 December 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Michael Collins (clarinetist), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Michael Collins has been called "one of the best clarinettists walking the planet" by The Times? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Michael Collins (clarinetist). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Michael Collins (clarinetist)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Question from Moral Innovator (21:37, 15 December 2023)

Hello, can you see my draft content and comment on "Moral Innovations?"

Thanks. I would also appreciate learning your name and what time zone you are in. Happy Holidays!

David --Moral Innovator (talk) 21:37, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @David, nice to meet you. For sake of my anonymity, I just go by Schminnte on Wikipedia. I'm in UTC+0, but you can ask questions any time.
I assume you're asking for an impromptu review of the draft, not a discussion of "moral innovations" as a subject. I quickly checked the draft: could you explain what its for exactly? Wikipedia doesn't publish original thought, so essay-like original synthesis of sources is more suited to a blog (which I notice you have here). We also like to cite our sources using references instead of using links, you can find out how to do this using this tutorial. If you could tell me more about the draft, I could give you more guidance. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 22:01, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Gregory Roberts (03:21, 13 December 2023)

Hi Schminte.

I hope you are well.

I would like to edit my company's Wikipedia page as it's incredibly out of date, and I am passionate about my company and it's people. This update is intended to be factual and not intended for promotional purposes. Can you please provide me with any advise here? I have already made the paid editing disclosure on my userpage...

Thanks / Greg --Gregory Roberts (talk) 03:21, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Greg, thanks for reaching out. Every paid editor will naturally have a conflict of interest with their employer, so I would strongly encourage you to propose changes on the Great Southern Bank talk page by using the {{edit COI}} template, or edit the article directly and post a note at the COI noticeboard, so that your edits can be peer reviewed. I know you have said that you only intend to be factual, but this is standard procedure for conflicts of interest. Additionally, please always back up your edits with a reliable source to help with verifiability. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 08:30, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
Thank you @Schminnte this is very useful Gregory Roberts (talk) 00:58, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi, if you review A-flat clarinet for me, I'll have a look at littleBits Synth Kit. Also, Merry Christmas  :) — Jon (talk) 03:01, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Merry Christmas @Jon! I'd be happy to do a review on A-flat clarinet; as a clarinettist, I had been meaning to do so for a couple of months. I'm not particularly needing a QPQ just now, so feel free to treat this as an early Christmas present from me. I'll start soon. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 08:05, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

RfA

Hey Schminnte! Have you considered doing an RfA? You've been around for more than a year now, and you have great content creation, plus experience in a bunch of other areas. I'm sure there are a lot of people who'd be happy to nominate you (myself included!) — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 18:22, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

I would absolutely, in a heartbeat, support them as a candidate. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:33, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
+1. Why would I not support them as an RfA candidate? ~ Tails Wx 19:44, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
Hello everyone! I'm quite touched by your messages, thank you @Ingenuity for your offer of a nomination. I have discussed the possibility of a future RfA in off-wiki, but came to the conclusion that I would like to take some time next year for more content creation (I have entered the WikiCup for this reason). As I've been here "only" a year-and-a-bit, I'd also like to firm up some personal concerns that I have about my tenure. However, I will keep these messages in mind going forward and will reach out to potential nominators when the time comes. Thank you everyone for the support! I want to add this information on South Pasadena, California Wikipedia page. This is the link were I found this information below

Question from Da'HoodedBeast on Help:Contents (00:22, 21 December 2023)

Hello and good evening, this morning my Wikipedia article was declined by an editor and I don't know why. I worked a long time on it. All my info was true and not stolen/copy and pasted. This is a subject I'm real close to and I wanted the rest of the world to know about it. Is there any chance you could help me publish it? --Da'HoodedBeast (talk) 00:22, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Da'HoodedBeast, welcome to Wikipedia. The reason that your draft was declined was because it doesn't show how the subject is notable. Wikipedia articles work of a system of notability, demonstrated with citations to substantial reliable sources that are independent of the subject (see WP:GNG). Could you add more reliable sources to show that the novena is notable? Additionally, providing references for other statements in the article will help us verify the text. I recommend that you don't resubmit the draft until you fix these problems. I hope this helps, always feel free to reach out if you have any more questions. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 08:22, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for your help Schminnte, I added some more links from other websites to give readers more to use and learn. Is that what you're talking about? If not, will you give me an example? Have a good day! Da'HoodedBeast (talk) 20:09, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
Something like that, just make sure that these are independent references that have a lot of coverage on the subject itself. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 20:25, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
Is there anything else I can add so it doesn't get declined a third time? I added a few more websites and some of my favorite videos to go with this subject. Da'HoodedBeast (talk) 20:32, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
Not really, as long as you can show notability through reliable sources, stay neutral and cite your sources you should be fine. A Google search for "St. Andrew Christmas Novena" shows up some sources. If the draft is declined again for not being notable in itself, you could also add to our pre-existing coverage at Saint Andrew using references like this Britannica article. Schminnte [talk to me] 20:43, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Jec9944spc (18:20, 22 December 2023)

Hello, I would like to update the information on the South Pasadena, California Wikipedia page because a lot of the citation are old and some of information is not correct. --Jec9944spc (talk) 18:20, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Jec9944spc, I'm traveling right now so will need some time to properly type a response to you. In the meantime, please wait and I'll get back to you within the day. I'll also answer the section above. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 18:28, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
Hello again @Jec9944spc, welcome to Wikipedia. I will answer both your questions here. The page you mention is not the place to put things like this, since that would give undue weight to a single member of the local government. More importantly, Wikipedia is not a memorial site, so we can't add a tangential obituary to a large topic article like this. This is why your edits were reverted.
What you could do though, if you can show that Cohen passes our notability guidelines on politicians, is create an article on her. To do this, you should use significantly large pieces from reliable sources independent of the subject. For more information on how to write an article on this, see our article creation system and this guide. I hope this helps! Please reach out if you have any other questions. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 22:11, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Louis Stanton Brown (23:47, 22 December 2023)

Hit I am 71 years old and did a bit of acting, a couple of the films reference me but show no link. Other films do not even mention me even though I had a big role.

I believe I need to create a biog page that lists the films and tv shows. So how do I do this? --Louis Stanton Brown (talk) 23:47, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Louis Stanton Brown, welcome to Wikipedia. On Wikipedia, we run off of a system of notability. Our general notability guideline requires subjects to be covered substantially in reliable sources independent of the subject. We also have a special notability guideline for actors, which you can find here. To make a biography page, we would need to know if you meet one of these first. Also, I should say that creating autobiographies on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged, but if you think that you meet the guidelines for inclusion and are willing to make the article completely neutral, then you can follow the instructions and use the system here, aditional advice is available here. Make sure to adhere to our core content policies when creating the article. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 00:05, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

Mark Brunell

Its confirmed Mark lives in Detroit and Coaches the QBs on the Lions. This article used as a source was allegations and nothing came from it at all is is over 10 years old. If we can please leave Marks religion blank that would be great. Ericlmitchell (talk) 20:15, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Ericlmitchell, thanks for reaching out. I was merely concerned that you were removing a referenced section of an article. After verifying with this article that seems to be from a reliable source, I decided to revert your removal. The usual next step is to discuss the possibility of removal on the article talk page, which I see you have done: thank you for that. I'm not particularly interested in the article (I only saw the removal and acted in the principle of the bold, revert, discuss system). I expect you will get input on the talk page. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 20:46, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Vummig (02:47, 27 December 2023)

Hey I was just wondering how I would cite information given to me by a confirmed first hand account such as a former student --Vummig (talk) 02:47, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Vummig, welcome to Wikipedia. Unless the source is about the student it will most likely not be a reliable source as it will most likely be self-published. Wikipedia works on a system of reliable sources: think The New York Times or the BBC. A first hand account will likely not meet these standards, so should not be cited in the first place. I hope this helps, please reach out if you have any questions. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 03:02, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Comment

Hello, Schminnte,

I can see that you have been very busy patrolling pages and tagging expiring drafts. It's been very helpful. But I did want to correct you on one thing. You tagged User talk:Quaidvnture for speedy deletion. However, unless there is BLP-violating content, copyright violations or some extremely offensive content, we don't delete User talk page. If you see inappropriate content on a User talk page, just blank the page and post a notice or Welcome note. Thank you for all of your help. Liz Read! Talk! 07:25, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello again @Liz. That was definitely a dumb error on my part, since I do know about WP:DELTALK. I might have skimmed over the "Talk:" modifier as I was tagging a lot of spam userpages at the time and the content seemed identical to the LLM guff I deal with. Sorry for the bother, I'll make sure to not tag a user talk page again unless it's for G3, G10, or G12, accidentally or otherwise. Thanks again and all the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 12:43, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Scrobum (22:45, 3 January 2024)

Hi, I'm working on getting my account confirmed, is there a repository list of pressing articles that need proofreading or editing, or is this something I should search for independently? --Scrobum (talk) 22:45, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi I am new here, did my first edit but it is nowhere to be found, can you please advise/thanks --Titus KinglyT Whittle (talk) 04:31, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Titus KinglyT Whittle, welcome to Wikipedia. The page you created can't be found because it was deleted under criterion G11 of our criteria for speedy deletion. This means that it was deleted as being unambiguously promotional for a product, group, person, ideal, etc. I would advise you to read up on Wikipedia's aims and goals: we are an encyclopedia, not a free web host or an advertising platform. Instead, we strive to write from a neutral point of view. Please refrain from using Wikipedia in this way again, as unambiguous promotion will be deleted. If you need any help with our guidelines and policy or have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 22:58, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Sassygirl227, welcome to Wikipedia. Unfortunately I can't help you with that, as we will not have records of employees here as we are an encyclopedia, not a directory. I advise that you make your enquiries with the company Jeff Hanson works at, as they will have an employee record. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 17:30, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Gerry Dawes1 (21:06, 8 January 2024)

Good afternoon, I am a published author and widely acknowledged expert on Spain and I want to put up my Wikipedia page. I have been scammed by WikiConsultancy, who was supposed to have had my page up months ago. Please advise me. --Gerry Dawes1 (talk) 21:06, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Gerry Dawes1, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm extremely sorry that you've been scammed, unfortunately these "consultancy" schemes do exist and can have real-world impacts. Sadly there is nothing that I can do to help you get your money back; however, if you still have the emails, you could follow the instructions here and forward them to paid-en-wp@wikipedia.org to help others not be scammed in the future. Depending on the amount you paid and if they have not fulfilled your contract, you may wish to report to your local police as well.
For what it's worth, it seems like the draft article they have made is still up at Draft:Gerry Dawes, if you want to continue to write it yourself. I should warn you that we strongly advise against writing autobiographies, but if you commit to writing completely neutrally and are absolutely sure that you pass our general or special notability criteria for authors, you may edit the draft and use the instructions at the top to submit the article for review. The article will then be reviewed by our Articles for Creation reviewers and either accepted or declined with advice. Be aware that if the article is not neutral or does not show notability it will be declined, but can be resubmitted when the problems are fixed. Further information on article creation for newcomers can be found at Your First Article.

Are edits checked before being published? --4ArtCoral (talk) 09:05, 6 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @4ArtCoral, welcome to Wikipedia! Edits are not checked regularly after publishing unless they are creating new pages, vandalism, spam, copyright violations, etc, as these are automatically detected and given oversight. In saying that, any edits can always be seen in page history. The onus to make sure that your edits are correct before publishing falls onto you. Hope that helps, if you have any other questions please contact me. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 09:57, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
Thanks Schminnte...that's clear then. I will be creating new content soon and will bear that in mind... 4ArtCoral (talk) 14:50, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Skysadventures (08:54, 10 January 2024)

Hullo. How are you? How can I create a new page on Wikipedia for an artist? --Skysadventures (talk) 08:54, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Skysadventures, welcome to Wikipedia! To create a new page, I advise that you follow the advice here. You should make sure follow our core content policies: to write neutrally, using published sources as references. Additionally, you should make sure that the artist passes our general or artist notability guidelines. When you come to create the draft, you should use the system described at our Articles for Creation service. I hope this answers your question, if you have any other queries please contact me. About pencileater

PencilEater is not an account of mine. PencilEater is a friend of mine who was gonna help with my article. This is my first and only wikipedia account.

best regards, Egontolvdotcom. EgonTolvdotcom (talk) 10:34, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Hello @EgonTolvdotcom. Your explanation seems ok, but please make sure that you do not coordinate with PencilEater outside Wikipedia to influence discussions, per our policy on closely related accounts. Also, if you share an IP address with PencilEater often you may wish to read this section. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 13:20, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from WhimsicalPenguin42 (02:03, 14 January 2024)

hi! I made this account to browse/read wikipedia, not to edit articles. Is there a way to save/bookmark articles to different reading lists or folders? I can do it on the mobile app, but not on the website --WhimsicalPenguin42 (talk) 02:03, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @WhimsicalPenguin42, welcome to Wikipedia. I completely understand why you want to make an account to read: it's quite common to want to customise your browsing experience without actively contributing. We even have an essay on it. As for bookmarking, as far as I know the desktop website doesn't have reading lists or bookmarking. I think your best bet may be to use your browser's built-in bookmarking feature to save pages. Hope this helps! All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 11:01, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Thank you! - The 2023 picture is from the Abel Fest in Köthen, celebrating the tercentenary of Carl Friedrich Abel, a viol virtuoso, composer and concert organiser in London (together with Bach's youngest son), born on 22 December 1723 in Köthen, where the new catalogue of his works was introduced, - my story today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:59, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Lǐshìmǎn (00:12, 18 January 2024)

Hi

I am particurly intrested in ships and want to start my own specific ships pages and also want to edit existing pages or at least notify potential errors.

1 - Are their templates for ships which can be completed? 2 - Is there an area that I can practice in which can then be checked before uploading 3 - I want to edit naming on many Chinese ships (See below) 4 - I wnat Help to edit Error on this page

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ships_of_the_Chinese_Navy_(1644%E2%80%931945) and specifically the entry for "King Ou"

The ship actually has its own page (which is not linked) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_ironclad_Tien-sing

If you read the article you will note it does not align this info needs to be carried forward to the 1945 table

A more general comment re the naming of Chinese Ships. I have copied the wikipedia table into a spreadhseet and then added some columns for my own research purposes. Entries for Chinese ships and specifically tables should contain

Chinese Simplied Chinese Traditional Pinyin (very reliable) Giles Wade (it has to be used but its very unreliable due to multiple interpretations)

You will note that the table has the Giles Wade but not the pinyin - Personally I think the pinyin is the most important name due to the unreliability of Giles Wade

I have also noted on many Chinese entries in Wikipedia that there is no standards for the use of traditional and simplied Chinese so one page will use traditional and another will use simplied

Here is an example of spreadhseet entry that I have done for an Ironclad of the Dìngyuǎn-class

Simplied-Pinyin-(Launch Date)-Traditional-Giles Wade

So: 定远 Dìngyuǎn (1881)/定遠 Ting Yuen

I note this page is the right way to present as it picks up all the information as per my spreadhseet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_ironclad_Dingyuan

Many other pages for Chinese ships do not follow this practice. --Lǐshìmǎn (talk) 00:12, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Lǐshìmǎn, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm really sorry, but I can't help you with much here: I neither speak Chinese nor interested in military history. I would advise you to make enquiries at our Military History WikiProject's Chinese task force, who may be able to help you better. Sorry I can't help more: all the best, and good luck in your enquiries! Schminnte [talk to me] 19:48, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Future admin

I just noticed your ping somewhere, which I am no longer following at all. Do you really think that I am going to waste time arguing with our future admin (Schminnte)? 😠😠😠 Maliner (talk) 06:19, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Maliner, welcome to my talk page. I'm sorry: if I knew you weren't going to "waste time" responding to my third opinion I wouldn't have spent the better part of an hour writing it. I didn't intend to waste your time, in fact I intended to remove wasted time by defusing the atmosphere at that thread; this seems to not have worked judging by this message. Personally, I don't see why my opinion should be disregarded because I'm not an admin (one of our best DRN regulars, Robert McClenon is a non-admin), but I will respect your decision. Third opinions are non-binding anyway. If you really want an admin to be involved in this, I'll ping Hey man im josh, an NPP admin and coordinator who may have something to add. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 08:41, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
You are getting me wrong. I am not disregarding your opinion, which I have never read properly (since I already told that editor multiple times to stop pinging me). I just got your notification, so I thought to drop my two cents here. I am not taunting you by calling you a future admin at all. Instead, I am trying to kind of give you AWOT at least, since you know I respect your contributions to English Wikipedia and I think you will be an admin here in a very discounted time. That's completely fine if you consider getting AWOT from an editor with just 7k edits as your insult. Please let me know if this is the case so I will never interact with you in the future. Also, please don't try to involve administrators unnecessarily, as I have never requested it, at least in this case. My sincere apologies to you if you find my words insulting. Maliner (talk) 09:04, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
Also, we had positive interactions earlier. So you should not think that I am mocking you. No, not at all. Maliner (talk) 09:13, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
Also I am not alone here who shares the similar thought that you will be an admin here at a very discounted time. Maliner (talk) 09:21, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
@Maliner: I think there's been a misunderstanding here. I judged that your edit summary "My last message unless pinged by dealing admin" in conjunction with the now-struck message meant that you would be ignoring my 3O as I wasn't an admin. If that was not your attempt, then I apologise as there has been a breakdown of communication. I don't "consider getting AWOT from an editor with just 7k edits an insult" and don't believe I have expressed that opinion anywhere. I consider this a misrepresentation of my views and would be glad if you retract that comment. Also, I would not like to cut-off ties with any editors, so please don't suggest that. This project is built on collaboration, and I would be mortified if my behaviour caused anyone to not want to be around me. In short, I'm sorry for any hurt I've caused and hope we can move past this. Regardless if you want to read my 3O or not, it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things and is not worth falling out about. All the best, Schminnte [talk to me] 10:19, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Socksrandomwackyness (06:12, 26 January 2024)

Okay so this isnt really a editing qustieon mostly something abt wiki how hard is it for people on wiki to find ur work? --Socksrandomwackyness (talk) 06:12, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Socksrandomwackyness, welcome to Wikipedia. I assume you are asking about your contributions to Wikipedia, not your work outside the site. On Wikipedia, anyone can see your edits by looking at your contributions. Whenever you make an edit, it is published in the page's history and remains visible to all (unless it is removed by an administrator for copyright, attack, child protection or similar reasons). For example, I can see your edits here and you can see mine here. We also have suites of tools to analyse edits, such as XTools. I hope this helps. Question from Skyhoope (12:24, 26 January 2024)

I created N article with no title how do I add a title --Skyhoope (talk) 12:24, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Skyhoope, welcome to Wikipedia. I assume you are talking about your userpage, User:Skyhoope. I would advise that adding a title is not what you should be thinking about right now: a more pressing matter is the userpage's content. Wikipedia userpages are for telling people about your activities here (see mine for an example), not for promotion or web hosting. To this end, I recommend you remove the current content of your userpage and replace it with something in line with our userpage policy.
