I wanted to protest the deletion of the Mackintosh Muggleton page. This is the reason it was deleted. This actor has exactly one role ever and the film was only released a month ago. It doesn't seem like he's a star of the film. I think this needs more time for him to become notable (i.e. more parts or coverage). Metros 03:40, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

If you want to go into details, he is the star and is going to be in the movie 28 months later. Aside from that I can understand why his page would be deleted, he hasn't made a dent in the media. I would just prefer the reason that his (or anyones really) page was removed is because of his lack of roles, not because of a misconception of his role. L4nce 05:51, 20 July 2007 (UTC) L4nce[reply]

Yup, I want it on BJAODN so bad! But just listing the content there isn't allowed, the edit summary must be maintained to make it comply with GFDL. So can you please restore it for a second and move it to Wikipedia:Bad jokes and other deleted nonsense/Pokemon Flynon version? (Then delete the mainspace redirect, of course.) RfA thanks[edit]

Hi Singularity. Thank you for your support and kind words in my RfA, which passed with 95 support, 1 oppose, and 1 neutral !votes. It means a lot to me to have your individual support and the collective support of so many others. I truly will strive to carry myself at a level representing the trust bestowed in me as I use the mop to address the never-ending drips of discontent in need of caretaker assistance.

I confess I am very confused... I wrote an article on Online Property Management Software based on web software questions I receive from clients. The article has been deleted. I am more then happy to rewrite it so it conforms to appropriate standards.

Please let me know how I can proceed in doing that. I am new at this - and trying to make sure it gets done well. Thank you.

Question - how does my article get removed when something like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propertyware which is obviously an advertisement remain?

My RfA[edit]

Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I had heard about 'protect,' 'block user,' and 'delete,' but no one told me about 'kill,' 'eject,' and 'purée.' I appreciate the trust the community has in me, and I'll try hard not to delete the main page or block Jimbo. -FisherQueen (Talk) 18:12, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Benoit[edit]

Actually, I couldn't care less about writing that article; I just noted my interest in it so that in case Thespian couldn't do it for some reason, I'd cover it; on high-profile issues including deaths and legal issues, I prefer that myself, Michael or another trusted user (yourself included) handles the story. In other words, I did it so some WWE newbie didn't write a horribly POV article :) Ral315 » 01:03, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My recent RfB[edit]

Thank you so much for your participation in my recent RfB. Though it closed with 72% support (below the required 90%), I'm still quite pleased at the outpouring of support shown by a fair percentage of the community.

I'm currently tabulating and calculating all opposing and neutral arguments to help me better address the community's concerns about my abilities as a bureaucrat. If you'd like, you can follow my progress (and/or provide additional suggestions) at User:EVula/admin/RfB notes. Thanks again! EVula // talk // // 04:34, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

Hi Sr, a while back you kindly deleted Lynotic while performing your janitorial administrative :) duties. I was wondering if you could temporarily undelete Talk:Lynotic and move it to Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Lynotic (and then re-delete Talk:Lynotic). The reason for this request is that the discussion at that page was relevant to the article's deletion and the edit history contained some evidence of possible sockpuppetry. Thanks, Pan Dan 13:40, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phroth[edit]

The editorial board of Phroth Magazine has concerns about the removal of our article entitled "Phroth" on Wikipedia. The talk page calls into the question the significance of the group. In reality, Phroth is the longest running publication of Pennsylvania State University, among the world's largest, and the magazine is about to celebrate its centennial anniversary. At one time, the magazine was published and distributed to tens of thousands of subscribers across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and therefore we have a large and loyal fanbase that appeals to a wide audience (including alumni). Due to its prolonged establishment and its continuing commitment to satire writing, I urge you to reinstate our article. Please contact me directly at jdb5120 [at] psu (dot) edu

Thanks for helping out on the clerking here. Just one thing - I have long been worried about editcountitis creeping in to that process - the generally idea is that any user should be able to request a rename regardless of their edit count. Clearly if they have never edited or only vandalised that's one thing, but the crats have on several occasions rejected any stricter criteria. In particular where usernames are created with typos/wrong capitalisation, the user creation software won't allow a new account (as its name will be too similar to an existing account) making renames the only option for those users. Bear in mind that renaming users with very few edits puts very little load on the servers (think of it like deleting articles creating a load equivalent to the number of revisions) so the sooner renames are done, the better from the server's point of view. Doing these requests is a good way to be friendly to new users and objecting on low edit count grounds can be a little bite-y. It doesn't really take crats any more time to do the requests than to reject them. Anyway, just my thought on the matter... WjBscribe 10:38, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

      • Hong Kong University of Science and Technology: Timway is one of the selected subject directory/searchable directory as mentioned by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Library webpage. http://library.ust.hk/guides/effective-web.html
    • 2. Timway's (domain name was hksrch.com) early start of its history in 1997 July marked a very important/significant milestone for the establishment of Hong Kong searchable directory or search engine that is much earlier than Yahoo! Hong Kong. (started in 1999) http://hk.yahoo.com/beginner/yhk.html
      • Timway.com was founded in 1997 and the previous domain name of it is hksrch.com for Hong Kong people searching information in HK. As you can see in the domain name registration, it is first created on 1997 Sep for the domain name. With regard to the very difficult spelling of hksrch.com, the domain name has been changed to timway.com in 1999. With its 10 years of presence in HK and many people using it, (The Alexa ranking of it is 3341, http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=timway&url=http://www.timway.com/). The presence of it is very valuable to a lot of Internet users.

Request[edit]

You deleted the article "List of famous left-handed people" citing that the article simply contained a redirect. While that may have been all you saw on the page, in previous edits this was actually a well-developed page with a very contentious request for deletion that resulted in no consensus (and requested the page not be deleted). Can you reinstate this page please? It was one of the more comprehensive lists of left-handers on the internet and was sorted by category of accomplishment. Pianofan2 20:06, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I see the second request now, but this seems to me to be an inside delete request -- look at the first nomination to see how contentious it was. It seems to me that it is unlikely that a page would go from a neutral split with 20-30 voters to unanimous delete in a matter of months...Pianofan2 20:11, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Murakumo: Renegade Mech Pursuit[edit]

Hi, you closed the DRV of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Murakumo: Renegade Mech Pursuit with the reason "Keep endorsed. No procedural problems, no objections during the AFD. DRV is not an extended AfD.". However, my objection is not whether the article should be kept (that is for AfD) but that the AfD was closed early, out of process. The AfD was non-admin closed less than 24 hours after the start - insufficient time for a full discussion - which is a procedural problem and without the extensive support needed for WP:SNOW. You also say "no objections during the AFD" - sure but the AfD ran for less than 1 day not 5 days. I should be grateful if you would be good enough to revisit your DRV close decision. Half-closed AfD[edit]

You closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of songs about war as delete. It appears the nominator also wished to include List of songs about nuclear war. I can see how you missed it. hello goodbye the band[edit]

I recently was informed that our page http://en.wikipedia.org/wik/Hello_Goodbye_the_band was deleted on July 5, 2007 and I would like to contest the deletion since there are other Beatle tribute bands listed with no more or less credibility than our aggregation; in particular 1964 the tribute & Blue Meanies. As far as "notability", since it's inception seven years ago Hello Goodbye has performed to standing room only attendances in the state of Florida thus gaining the act the moniker "Florida's premier musical tribute to The Beatles" as well as performing for over 800,000 live on one night (and over 1 million via TV simulcast on WSVN TV FOX AFFILIATE MIAMI) for the International Boat Show sponsored by Nokea, which is probably more than any other Beatle tribute has ever performed for in a single night (including all of the Beatle festivals worldwide). The band has also been featured in various publications, most notably & prominently in the recently published "All You Need Is Love To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - How The Beatles and U2 Changed The World" written by Todd McFliker (http://www.creativejournalist.com) and published by Continuum Press (http://www.continuumbooks.com/Books/detail.aspx?ReturnURL=/Search/default.aspx&CountryID=2&ImprintID=2&BookID=129768) in Chapter 10 "The Tribute Bands" pages 105, 106, 107 & 108.

Deletion of Code2000[edit]

You recently deleted Code2000 based on an AfD. Unfortunately, the people who would have supported keeping were unaware of the proposed deletion; all the comments are dated June 22. (It's not the sort of article we would think to put on a watchlist!) The many links to this article show that this font is extremely notable, and is referenced — in fact, vital — all over Wikipedia. In particular, we depend on it heavily for the mathematics project. There is at this time no other font that would be even close to an adequate substitute in covering mathematics characters. (Alternatives like Arial Unicode MS and Lucida Sans Unicode are not widely available and have less coverage.) Please undelete the article immediately, and if you have further doubts, ask at WT:WPM. Thanks. --KSmrqT 05:58, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you have been logged in and active since I posted my request, yet I have not had the courtesy of a response. As I ask again, I point out that we have 75 links to Code2000, which this deletion has broken. I would like to give you the opportunity to fix this yourself. Regardless of whether you think the deletion was appropriate, I ask that you respond. --KSmrqT 23:28, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(moved reply back here to keep thread together --KSmrq)
Sorry that I haven't gottten back to you; its not that I didn't want to respond; I probably forgot to respond to your query. Apologies.
Anyway, my best advice to you is to take the article to deletion review. I don't want to restore the article immediately; that would be out of process. If you can solve the problems at the AfD (which I still stand by as a legitimate closure) and present that at DRV, there may be a chance that the article can be undeleted. Sr13 07:17, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for getting back to me. Protocol and courtesy both pushed me to contact you first, as the closer. Certainly, based solely on the comments at the AfD (and not checking links or the web), deletion must have seemed uncontroversial. I was simply hoping that based on this new information you could immediately undelete and let more interested parties have a say. Otherwise I would have gone straight to DRV. There is really no question the article should be restored; the claim of lack of notability was based purely on ignorance, which we can easily remedy. Thanks for your time. --KSmrqT 11:24, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Asif Mengal[edit]

Hi, this article was significantly expanded after the other members participated in the Afd. Another nom of Mengal by the same person was quickly demonstrated to be incorrect, and I have provided evidence that there is at least one notable person by this name; there is a small chance that the article's references are talking about two different people of the same name (see my talk), but if they are two different people, they are each reasonably notable. If you can undelete this, I will work on a merge to a new article about the jirga, which I have been attempting to work out; see [2]. Alternatively, could you undelete it to User:Jayvdb/Saved_pages/Asif Mengal. Thanks, John Vandenberg 04:38, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

JasperReports[edit]

Hi, I have an article with a bit of history that I need advice about. JasperReports went through CSD-DRV-AFD cycle late last year which resulted in a delete, probably because I lost touch with the processes over the festive period. The outcome of the Afd has been enforced since then[3] and I suspect the current article will be deleted soon for similar reasons. I have worked on my own copy of this article User:Jayvdb/Saved pages/JasperReports to a reasonable state, and ideally I would like to see the history of the article merged with the deleted copy that I used as the starting point of my copy. Does this need a DRV in order to ensure it is kept? Is it possible to do a three way history merge (old, mine, current)? John Vandenberg 08:25, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
