Shakespeare's Sonnets
I notice from your user page that you are interested in making the individual articles for Shakespeare's Sonnets more consistent. In case you ever decide to pull the trigger on that, I'll just note: Over the years, several users have made passes at this, and several years ago I made what I believe to have been the most thoroughgoing effort so far. I've made some notes about that pass at User:Phil wink/Sonnet Uniformity Act. I must emphasize that this is not an official Wikipedia stance, nor even the consensus of WP:WikiProject Shakespeare (I tried, and failed, to generate discussion) -- but it is the only organized discussion of the topic I've seen. So at least with respect to the very specific issues I addressed, the articles are mostly pretty consistent ... but to a first approximation, they're still all crap, so plenty of scope for work! Cheers. Phil wink (talk) 04:03, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Sigma Sound Studios.jpeg
Thank you for uploading File:Sigma Sound Studios.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

Close front unrounded vowel
You say "I'm fine with discussing this", then it doesn't follow that you did while reinstating your edit, given WP:BRD. We don't use parameters the template doesn't recognize (the reason we have Module:Check for unknown parameters). Nardog (talk) 16:56, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- It just seemed more expedient at the time to reinstate the edit since I've never had to go through the full WP:BRD cycle before. That was probably a bad move. Should the image file be removed for Near-close near-front unrounded vowel as well? The Midnite Wolf (talk) 17:07, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Mo Troper moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Mo Troper, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 22:55, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Onel5969 What's the conflict of interest/unverifiable information? I don't have any connection with the subject and all the information is sourced. Also what WP policy prevents users from moving their own drafts into mainspace? I was under the impression that AFC was mostly for new users who don't have moving rights. Coordinates
I had to make some changes to your very good Octavius V. Catto Memorial article; rounding the coordinates. Google has taken to providing 16-digit coordinates in what is believed to be a copyright trap scheme. That level of precision is in the 1/100th of a micrometre range. Jefferson Butler Fletcher Obit
I noticed you alluded to not having access to Fletcher's NYT obit. The big warning I'm looking at telling me not to post copyrighted content is dissuading me from transcribing the whole thing, but here's a comprehensive summary. The citation Zotero generates from the free abstract of the obit should suffice for Wikipedia purposes. "Double quotes" mean I'm lifting straight from the text; 'single quotes' mean the text in question was in "double quotes" in the text. Big trust that this info is accurate.
- Obit released 18 August 1946
- Born in Chicago on 13 November 1865
- Dad Isaac Dudley Fletcher, mom Mary Elizabeth Pickering Fletcher
- A. B. Harvard 1887, A. M. Harvard 1889
- Doctor of Literature from Bowdoin, 1932
- Served with American Field Ambulance Service during WWI (As did Ernest Hemingway, interestingly enough)
- Member of the National Institute of Arts and letters, the Century Club.
- Died at summer home in York Village, Maine, aged 80.
- Ill since November 1945
- NYC address 1192 Park Avenue
- Left behind widow Agnes Peabody Herrick Fletcher and daughter Margaret Fletcher Stoddart.
- 1890-1902, an "English instructor"
- 1902-1904, asst, prof. of comp. lit. at Harvard
- Joined Columbia faculty 1904, retired 1939
- Book Literature of the Italian Renaissance (1934) was published as "'valedictory' to his former Columbia and Harvard students," and was "a notably critical study of the period of creative energy."
- Said book was reviewed by NYT's own Dino Ferrari (the review itself is quite lengthy and unfortunately also behind a paywall), who "said he knew of no other single volume containing 'so much digested material, so much learning, so much critical acumen, and yet withal that is presented so urbanely, so informally and so graciously.'"
- Ferarri also added that "were it not for the perspective that only the distance of centuries can give, Dr. Fletcher's observations might well be taken for those of a learned scholar, humanist and brilliant wit of the Renaissance itself."
- Books: The Overture and Other Poems (1911), The Religion of Beauty in Women (1911), Dante (1916), Symbolism of the Divine Comedy (1921).
- Fletcher translated The Divine Comedy in 1931, his edition was "hailed for its retention of Dante's form of rhymed tercet."
- He was a member of the "fiction award jury for the Pulitzer prizes for several years"
- Was also "one of the group of American and foreign scholars selected by the Italy Americo Society to lecture on Dante at the Casa Italiana at Columbia."
- In 1932, Fletcher "made a Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy at a ceremony at the Casa Italiana"
