Speedy deletion of studentgems.com

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that my post for the business 'studentgems.com' was deleted. Although the post was not complete (as I had planned to add to it), I do believe it is a company worthy of mention. I would be grateful for your help/advice to create a suitable article on the topic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjsmith140 (talkcontribs) 11:17, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

sBACH Deletion

[edit]

This band is on a reputable record label that houses numerous other bands that have Wikipedia articles. If you had bothered to search "sBACH", you would have found that they already have many articles from major music websites. Their album release can also be found in every major metropolitan city in America. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Holdyourhorseis (talkcontribs) 22:07, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Webnotes Deletion

[edit]

I am curious about the deletion of WebNotes. I do work at the firm but we tried to keep the language as factual as possible. What are the steps for getting this resubmitted? Thanks for your help! We really appreciate it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kingzing1 (talkcontribs) 21:43, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TrulyBlue, would you take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kingzing1/WebNotes and let me know how to make this better or more notable? I really appreciate your help.

Request for Revertion of the Deletion of Cristiano Novembre

[edit]

I have recreated this page due to its relevance, correct information cited from Juventus.com and the fact that there are other pages on the fourth goalkeeper of a major team (Manchester United's page for example) so why shouldn't it be so of Juventus? Reverting Montevideo

[edit]

Thanks for reverting 163.153.6.210's edit to Montevideo. The district reports that they found the student and have taken appropriate action. --NERIC-Security (talk) 17:10, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to British Airways Flight 38, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. -- John (Daytona2 · Talk · Contribs) 09:02, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed your speedy delete tag, as I believe the article makes assertions of notability. PROD or AfD are probably best for this article if you feel it needs to be deleted - Fritzpoll (talk) 14:23, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sapir College article

[edit]

As webmaster, here at the Sapir College, I noticed that there was already a initial page for the college, but as I was told, the name Sapir Academic College is taken as a grammatical error in english. Firstly I have added the history content there, but just after some verifications I saw that as the right I was able to create a new article with the right name of the college. Meanwhile a took the liberty to delete the first content after the creation of the new entry.

As for the contents. The history of the Sapir College was written by the president of this institution. As far as I understand, there is no tendentious or provocative contents. If there is any material that is not appropriate or no compliant with the policies of the wikipedia, I'll be able to repair.

Finally, I'm new aroud here as a content editor, so any help I can get about the policies and right way to publish contents, I'll be glad to contribute. --Sapirwebmaster (talk) 13:34, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

O.K. I think that now I started to undertand and maybe the text need a reformulation. For the time being, I think better to delete the contents at all until a reformulation. Many thanks.--Sapirwebmaster (talk) 15:57, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, sorry, I meant to drop you a note and forgot. I removed your speedy tag because we don't delete material that can be rectified. You're right that the page was blatant propaganda as it was, but I reduced the information to a teeny stub (see this diff) and it's now developing as a geographical article. Take a look! Anyway, thanks for tagging - admins depend on people like you to point us in the right direction. --Dweller (talk) 13:41, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TrulyBlue, I've drawn a public domain map of the course and added it to the Boat Race and The Championship Course articles to go with your landmarks tables. Could you take a look to sense-check it please? You were right about the Stag Brewery name but I wonder whether to call it the Mortlake Brewery anyway. The dimensions of the river and bridges are exaggerated to make the map clearer at low resolution. BTW if you know anyone who could donate a shot of the Boat Race Start that would be very useful - I've never watched the race from anywhere downstream of the Doves. Pointillist (talk) 23:16, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By way of example, my original image is on the Boat Race article, and the version on The Championship Course has area labels (e.g. Mortlake, Putney etc) added. The question is whether the area labels make the map too cluttered. Pointillist (talk) 00:17, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • The maps are absolutely great and my only question is whether my tables of landmarks are now needed - they look clumsy compared with your elegant maps - the region labels are fine - they don't clutter the maps at all. Well done, and thanks. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the start or know anyone who might. TrulyBlue (talk) 11:49, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Glad you liked the map. I will try to do an SVG version next. IMO your table of landmarks should stay: the coordinates are useful (where did you get them?) and it is a good home for comments on the course (e.g. Craven Cottage, Hammersmith Bridge etc). More comments would be useful, e.g. all that stuff the TV commentators come out with about 88% or whatever of crews that are ahead at Barnes Bridge go on to win (which I why I was standing there in 2003 and missed photographing the close finish, but that's another story). Re: the table layout, what might be good is to add little thumbnails to each row in the table. I had been planning to walk the course anyway (I suppose I would have to do it twice, once on each bank) so I can capture the images. What do you think? Marc Metdepenningen

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Marc Metdepenningen, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Marc Metdepenningen. Thanks for your alertness on takking this article for sources. However, since I createed the article less than thrtee minmutes before you tagged it and was not yet finished working with it, aren't you being overtly hasty? Please read my message once more. Tagging an article less than three minutes upon its creation is highly unreasonable as well as abusive. If I need to refer this to Andy Wang, I will. Jonyungk (talk) 00:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

adenin TECHNOLOGIES

[edit]

This is in regards to a deletion you made for adenin TECHNOLOGIES last week. You cited advertisment as the criteria for deletion. As you can see I am new to this Wikipedia thing. I am having problems because I write something and I get dinged for notability or advertising. Alot of times I am even using other listings as a template. For example the article you deleted I cited companies that use the products produced by adenin. I am assuming that is what the advertsing was. Other companies use clients in their listing. Is that permissable? How is Intranet Dashboard not advertising? I have used awards as notability as well and it has gotten me no where. Could you please give me some advice?Amyyaley (talk) 02:40, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TrulyBlue,

Thank you for showing me my faults. I have applied for a new username, as I would like to keep my contributions. I enjoy using Wikipedia and wished to contribute something myself, and mistakingly thought it would be a good idea to have a username that would coincide with my page. I apologize for my oversight of the rules, but I hope that this will be resolved and that my article is neutral enough in point to demonstrate my own neutrality on the topic.

Thank you, again.

Hi Trulyblue!

This is in regards to the article on "Clarion Technologies". This has been tagged to be deleted. However, I would request you to consider this once again. I intend to add this in the list of "Software Companies of India". There are many companies listed under this category. It should not be a problem to enter this. However, if needs changes, please let me know so that I can carry out these changes and make the article qualify for the criteria to be entered in Wikipedia. I appreciate your time and help. Thanks! --Amol.clarion (talk) 11:40, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You left a warning notice on the user page, saying that the article had been tagged for deletion under section A3. I guess the article was uploaded again after it was deleted. I don't have access to the previous version, but I suspect it was basically the same. I am writing to you to let you know that there is a big difference between nonsense and text written in foreign languages. If you do not feel comfortable with identifying foreign languages, please contact one of us that work regularly on Wikipedia:Pages needing translation. In any event, please be careful to use the correct tags when putting an article up for deletion. Thanks. --Cbdorsett (talk) 04:31, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I apologize for offending you. I'm not an admin, so I have no means of checking a prior history when an article has been deleted. My mistake was taking your name from the contributing editor's talk page without checking the date of your comment, then comparing that date against the dates on the various revisions of the article. I have seen plenty of editors using speedy delete tags incorrectly, and I jumped to the conclusion that you thought the foreign language was nonsense or devoid of content. This was unfair of me, and I hope you accept my apology. I will be more careful in the future - it is impossible to know when another editor will take offense, and it never hurts to be careful. --Cbdorsett (talk) 13:09, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Boat Race

[edit]

I think the representation of Steve Fairbairn on the mile post qualifies as a 'bust'. The OED says:

2 a sculpture of a person’s head, shoulders, and chest

and if you look at the image accompanying it, it's definitely that. I suppose the debate is whether a relief sculpture is a bust! Mrh30 (talk) 13:25, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK, the Mile Post is not 'marked by a monument', it is a monument to Steve Fairbairn, and that monument has a relief portrait on it. Have edited the article to clarify. TrulyBlue (talk) 19:25, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • What I was trying to say to Mrh30 was that I completely agreed with and supported your "is marked by a monument" edit - I thought it was genuinely better than "bust". So I hope you didn't feel any need to go back and tweak it further on my account! All the best - Pointillist (talk) 20:22, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion of The Green Bus

[edit]

What exactly is wrong with it? Rather than pointing out a rule, can you give me a reason why you feel the rule is applicable in this situation, and why you tagged the article with the speedy deletion tag? Alex Holowczak (talk) 11:29, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, could you please define "significant" in this case? Fortunately, I was able to copy and paste it all into Notepad before it was deleted. So, if I keep track of any references in third party form, then I can readd it, citing these new references? Alex Holowczak (talk) 12:01, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Jacob Perry

[edit]

Hello,

I'd like to contest the deletion of Jacob Perry. I believe that he is notable. As you can see from his bio at http://www.magal-ssl.com/content/?did=3&aid=4114add9eaf95ecb9e3256dd81c93fb7, also pasted below, he has served on numerous boards and contributed largely to society as well as serving for many corporations.

Jacob Perry has been a director at Magal Security Systems from 2002 and was appointed to serve as the Deputy Chairman of the board in September 2006 and as Chairman of the Board since January 2008. From 1995 to 2003, Mr. Perry was President and CEO of Cellcom Israel Ltd., one of Israel's largest cellular phone operators and since 2003 he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mizrahi Tefahot Bank.

He served as the Chairman of the Board of Lipman Engineering from 2003 to 2006 and acted as external consultant to Aeronautics manufacturers of drones and to Cellglide cellular services.

Mr. Perry served 29 years with the Israeli General Security Service, and served as its Director from 1988 until 1995.

Alongside his corporate activities, Mr. Perry served as Prime Minister's consultant on prisoners of war and missing soldiers in action. He is a member of the management of many organizations such as the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Public Council for Culture and Arts, the Center for the Commemoration for the Members of the Intelligence Community. He is Chairman of the Foundation for the Promotion of Quality Israeli Films, Chairman of the Board of Friend of Shiba Hospital, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Tel Aviv Yafo College Institute, Chairman of the Public Institute of Military soldiers, President of Industrial Cooperation Authority (ICA) and a member of the Board of Beth Hatefutsoth, Museum of the Diaspora. In 1997 he served as chairman of the WIZO Collection Fund and chairman of the "Knock on Every Door" campaign on behalf of the Cancer Society. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Rubin Academy of Music.

Mr. Perry holds an A.M.P. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Oriental Studies and History of the Jewish People from Tel-Aviv University.

Hello

Could you please review the speedy deletion tag for this article. I have added some comments to the talk. It may be that an incorrect link gave you the impression the entry is not renowned enough.

The reason for renown is that it's run by David Einhorn, and is considered atleast partly responsible for the downfall of Lehman Brothers.

Thanks! --vvarkey (talk) 13:45, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Did you at least perform a Google News archive search before you nominated this article for AFD? I have found that to be an informative process, to see if there are sources which could be cited in improving an article. If multiple reliable and independent sources have substantial coverage of a subject, then it is notable.Edison (talk) 23:48, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Two Faces of January

[edit]

Could you please explain to me what it is about my article for this novel that you consider 'blatant advertising' (for the record, I don't belong to any company that sells this book, I'm just a literature student). --6afraidof7 (talk) 17:46, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The synopsis I wrote contains no bias, instead its simply a brief, maybe even complacent summary of the novel's main storyline. As for the reviews I mentioned, dozens of wikipedia articles I've read quote endorsements for the product from critic's. By your logic, you would have to delete all of them too, which would make this websites contents a lot thinner. --6afraidof7 (talk) 18:40, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The reason I didn't go into detail about the plot is because revealing even the slightest development would spoil some surprise from somebody. As for the quotes, well of course their taken down verbatim, I'm not exactly going to paraphrase them am I, that would be akin to altering facts. Admittedly I should have chosen some more quotes for the purpose of variety, but apart from that I still can't see your real beef with this article. --6afraidof7 (talk) 12:26, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fact templates

[edit]

The date syntax is: {{Fact|any other arguments|date=October 2008}}, but if you leave the date off it will be added by a WP:BOT. Rich Farmbrough, 21:19 22 October 2008 (UTC).

So, I've got my second prod-warning on John Dahlbäck from you in the space of how many hours? Yet there is no Prod-warning template on the article. Could you fill me in on this please? Best regards / Sebisthlm (talk) 02:13, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, the two warnings you posted on my talk-page wasn't technically prod-warnings, something I apparently was supposed to know, so I apologize for any confusion. The article in question has since been AfD'd at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Dahlbäck, so I guess I don't really have to know exactly what your warnings meant. You're of course most welcome to contribute to the AfD of course. Sebisthlm (talk) 05:05, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your response! I've never been fortunate enough to witness a speedy deletion process up close before, so I mistook them for prod-warnings. May I ask what the general purpose is with CSD warnings? I mean, it seems there is little chance to actually see the warning before the article is deleted since the whole process of tagging, warning and deletion take place within a couple of hours (I can't see when the first version of the John Dahlbäck was deleted, but I recreated the article three and a half hour after the warning on the first article). Sebisthlm (talk) 10:51, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think you misunderstood my question. I wasn't asking it rhetorically to criticize your taggings, I was actually curious as to the purpose of the CSD-warnings, but I guess they're not there to get the contributor a chance to contest the CSD-nominations (or whatever they're called), but to more inform the creator that the article have been deleted. Sebisthlm (talk) 11:15, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for explaining the CSD process to me. Of course I knew it existed, and I know that it's being used frequently by some of my colleagues over at WP:Football. Sebisthlm (talk) 13:08, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think I just got the answer to why you just didn't seem to want to understand, and to be honest it was a bit stupid of me to take for granted that everyone would know the concepts of DJing. I apologize for doubting your good faith. Take care, Sebisthlm (talk) 20:30, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The AfD nomination has been withdrawn and is pending closing, since you haven't retracted your delete vote. You might want to comment on these latest revelations, and perhaps retract your vote, so that the AfD might be closed. I see you thought Mr Dahlbäck was a builder that played a few records on the radio, so I understand why you wanted to delete the article ;). Seriously though, it just seems a lot of the drama could have been spared if people in good faith actually would have tried to understand the subject. As this AfD went, it was like someone in an AfD on a football player midway through said "oh, football is a sport". I would have imagined that in a debate on the notability of a DJ you would at least know what a DJ is, or that if you didn't know what a DJ does, you would try to find out by clicking the wikilinks to the DJ-article (which was posted on both the article and the AfD). From my point of view, since no-one commented on this edit and that this edit would have raised some questions, I had little reason to believe that someone hadn't quite grasped the art of DJing. Now, only you know if you read my arguments in good faith, but given that I was under the impression that you understood that DJing is considered an art form, you might understand why I thought you were reading my arguments as the devil reads the Bible (as we say in Sweden). I have also learned a lot through this. I could certainly have done a lot of things differently, and I have apologized to those who have seemed to be offended. I honestly think I've been nothing but correct towards you, but if I somewhere down the line have offended you in any way, I apologize for that too. Have a nice weekend, Sebisthlm (talk) 14:40, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I didn't just come up with the idea that you should retract your vote or else the AfD wouldn't close. Don't worry, I may not be an expert on CSD's but I know enough on AfD's to know that's not how it works. I just got the impression by the nominator's note on the top of the page that he is awaiting reply from you. So you're still not satisfied with the case for notability? Why is that, and how would you say I can amend that? I'm mainly contributing on football-related articles (and after this I'll probably stick to them), and there we are used to even briefer stubs. Take Dan Smith (footballer born 1989) for example. If you didn't know football was and what a footballer is, I'd say there is less on his article that make a case of notability than on the current John Dahlbäck article. I, as a member of WP:Football, know that the notability threshold for a footballer is (basically) professional league, full national team or continental cup appearances, but that wouldn't a person who know nothing on football know. The notability assertion on Smith assumes that you 1. knows what a footballer is and 2. roughly, that his two appearances for Plymouth asserts notability. In what way would the JD article be any less clear in it's assertion? Sebisthlm (talk) 15:46, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article had context but read like a fansite. I removed both the speedy tag and the POV text. He is a running back at Iowa and may be notable. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 20:02, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism of CSD:John Dahlbäck

[edit]

Even if you're the expert on CSD:s, I can't help but to think that your original CSD may be critisized. This passus is from the last paragraph of the lead on WP:CSD (emphasis added):

Before nominating an article for speedy deletion, consider whether it could be improved, reduced to a stub, merged or redirected elsewhere or be handled with some other action short of deletion. If this is possible, speedy deletion is probably inappropriate. Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its creation if it appears incomplete.

This point was brought up by user:Neon white in this edit, but never adressed. I share Neon white's criticism since the article was tagged a few hours after its creation.

This passus is from CSD A7 (the rationale for the nomination and subsequent deletion, emphasis added):

(C)ontent that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant. This is distinct from questions of verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability; to avoid speedy deletion an article does not have to prove that its subject is notable, just give a reasonable indication of why it might be notable.

I would have guessed that the Discogs source provided in the tagged version would have given the nominator a reasonable indication of why it might be notable. Despite me bringing up the Discogs source several times, this aspect was never adressed.

Do you agree with these assessments? Respectfully, Sebisthlm (talk) 17:14, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Truly Blue .. you may have noted the above page had only been newly created and was/is still under construction. Not exactly sure why this class of specialised corporations in Australian law needs to be in the singular .. though I'm happy to accept this. I would however like to do a bit more work on the article before having the wording shifted around too much?! Bruceanthro (talk) 13:45, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

". I don´t know how to solve the problem because this FP7 project is public domain. It is my first time creating articles and i dont know how to solve it. Thanks in advance. All the contents which i want to introduce in the wiki are in the website and the website is public domain so I don´t know what i need to write in wiki in order to my article is published. Conversion for adjectival use of distances?

[edit]

Hi TB- I saw your change to Chemin de la Mâture--thanks for starting it, by the way. I'd changed that path length to a straight distance because I don't know a conversion template that works for a distance used as an adjective (200-ft climb vs climb of 200 ft). If you look now at the article, you'll see that the sentence doesn't read right: a 1,200 metres (3,900 ft) path. Do you know of a conversion template for adjectival forms--one that would let us put something like {{convert-adj|1200|m|ft}} and have it yield 1,200-metre (3,900-ft)? I'm not married to providing a conversion for every number, but if we're going to, I think we should find a way to render them in proper style. -Eric talk 14:50, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've put the adjectival form on the conversion - it's a standard parameter to the conversion template. I agree on the over-use of conversions, but there again the manual of style suggests they be given. regards TrulyBlue (talk) 15:49, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, TB, including for pointing me to {{convert}}. I didn't find that when I was looking over the dates and numbers page in the manual of style. I notice that it doesn't hyphenate the converted measurement--I guess that's a style choice by the template designers. Maybe I'll get brave and try to make an option to that sometime. NextMark?

[edit]

TrulyBlue, I was just going to add my research to the NextMark page and it seems to have disappeared. You had tagged it as a candidate for "speedy deletion" on Wednesday and I was working to address those concerns as mentioned in the the NextMark talk page (also gone). I'd appreciate your advice on this. Thank you. Joe Pych (talk) 15:49, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply on my talk page. I like your suggestion using the sandbox. Is there any way to retrieve the article? I'd like to use that as a starting point. Plus, I spent a good part of a day working on it and would hate to lose it. Thanks again. Joe Pych (talk) 17:11, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:TrudyBlue,
I know for a fact that "Naked Idol" will be the finale TV movie of the series' season, which will air in March.
I understand the user who created the article did not follow WikiPolicies correctly, but I would be happy enough to clean it up.
Their are no references to this article yet, but I would gratefully be able to fix it up with the navigation template, info box, plot, and etc.
Thanx! and please do contact me back on my talk page about this issue, since this article should still remain on Wikipedia.
ATC (talk) 01:32, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I've removed your speedy tag on this article as i felt that there is assertion of notability, which is a requirement of an article to not be speedy. I've also made a couple of minor tweaks and added some other tags to it. If you still feel that it should be deleted, please prod or nominate it for deletion. Thanks! --Ged UK (talk) 14:24, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You proposed Sujata and the seven wives for deletion

I moved Sujata and the seven wives to User:Ragnii/Sujata and the seven wives so the author can reference it and clean it up. I also found historical references to the subject matter, so it's not really a personal essay. Aleksander Cepuš

[edit]

Last question : is enough references? 13 or 14. Label Listen Loudest is very old in the world of underground rock and Mr.Zdenko Franjić is a legend of alternative rock. About californian KZSU it's not necesary to talk about. They are a legend. So - I think these are a real references. Reviews for every album in discography. Thank you for your time. OK, you work here as a volunteer, but anyway... Kukovica3 (talk) 04:19, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

turns out to be notable. Though there was not a clear assertion of significance in the article, anyone who died in 1920 and has online sourcing is likely to have been notable. Sometimes it's best to search Google before tagging. Generally, anyone from that era with the honorary ranks of "Commodore" or "Colonel" was important enough to be considered significant (a lower standard than notability). Cheers, and happy editing. Speedy deletion of Forsaken Realm Online

[edit]

My post for Forsaken realm Online was deleted immediately and the reason was for "Blatent Advertising". I did post for a game but it is free and so I have no need to advertise something that is free to log in and play. I looked at other articles on web based online RPG's and used the same format. For example Kingdom of Loathing. So why did mine get removed and what can I change? Thanks. Brokenshirt (talk) 20:15, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

HeathenPlaces

[edit]

Immediately after the article's creation, you demand its deletion. I feel that this is absurd on your behalf. If the article needs improvement, then the best way to go about that, is to discuss what it needs with me, rather than demand its immediate abortion. You message demanded to know the website's notability or importance. What would then be the best way of expressing this? It is my intention to respect Wikipedia guidelines and keep the article legitimate, but so far, we're not off to a good start. — ᚹᚩᛞᛖᚾᚻᛖᛚᛗ (talk) 15:58, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

During my process of typing out my justification to keep the page, the page was apparently immediately deleted. I wasnt even able to post my objection. Whether this action was by you, or someone else, I do not know, but I'm very quickly losing my patients in trying to write a legitimate article. Can you answer for this? — ᚹᚩᛞᛖᚾᚻᛖᛚᛗ (talk) 16:21, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My biggest issue with the whole thing, is not the tag, but the fact that the entire process occurred in under 3 minutes' time. There was no discussion about it, which I feel is equal to being found guilty without trial or jury; hardly a democratic process, just an immediate execution. At the very least, there should be a 24-hour allowance for the original author to make any corrections or necessary additions. Otherwise there appears to be a bit of a "speedy deletion witch hunt" on Wikipedia. It was my intention to add the fact that its notability within the Heathen community is the fact that it's one of the first all-inclusive (with no regard to divisional sects such as Theodism, Ásatrú, Odinism, and others) means of collective, centralized, Heathen networking and communication. Furthermore it was my intention to bring others who know of the site as well, so they could contribute as well. Oh about my signature not being visible, the characters are within the Runic Unicode range. The free font Junicode (designed by Professor Peter S. Baker of the University of Virginia) will resolve its visibility. — ᚹᚩᛞᛖᚾᚻᛖᛚᛗ (talk) 03:09, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Odyssey financial technologies

[edit]

Hi, like many other people, I've created a new article (I am total beginner with wikipedia) and got a speedy deletion warning. Yes, this a page about my company, No, I'm not going to make advertisement for our products. Our company is a major player in the wealth management industry, produce documentation and articles about this industry. This could interest a LOT of people. I just put a simple paragraph for the moment since I'm beginning and wiki is far from being simple at first. Thanks for re-evaluate your deletion notice which is very surprising considering that our main competitor, Temenos Group, has a page here. Could you tell me how much time I have to correct this all? Thanks a lot. Odyssey financial technologies (talk) 13:55, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FlexAccount

[edit]

FYI, User:Gutheren has deleted your prod tag from FlexAccount. I have tagged the relevant article issues: notability, unreferenced, and COI (as the Gutheren account was created in the wake of the username block of FlexAccount (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)).

While tagging says that the article does not demonstrate notability, opening the AfD would give the appearance that I'm saying the product is not notable—and long story short, I don't want to give even the appearance of opining on the merits of accounting software. As a result, I have not opened the AfD myself. —C.Fred (talk) 12:35, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
