File permission problem with File:G turner howard III.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:G turner howard III.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. Hopefully you'll get a more comprehensive answer from other editors, but there are 2 points which are immediately apparent. Firstly you have used at least one source which is not independent of the subject. Secondly you refer to a bronze medal at the 1976 Olympics, but I see no mention of this in either of the references you quoted, nor anywhere else. - David Biddulph (talk) 19:11, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source.
