California's 10th State Senate district is one of 40 California State Senate districts. It is currently represented by Democrat Ellen Corbett of Hayward.

District profile[edit]

The 10th District encompasses the southern part of the East Bay Region, located directly south of California's 9th State Senate district. As such, it includes the southern half of Alameda County and portions of Santa Clara county.

2011 redistricting[edit]

After redistricting in 2011 by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission, the new district now includes the southern coastal East Bay and parts of Silicon Valley. The district has the highest Asian population of any California state senate district. The new district lines will take effect in the 2014 election.
