Krishna Express is an intercity express train running between Tirupati Main of Andhra Pradesh and Adilabad of Telangana. It belongs to South Central Railway of Indian Railways and it takes 24 hours to cover 1,148 km (713 mi) between its nodal stations.

Etymology

The train is named after the Krishna river which flows from the city of Vijayawada and the train was first started from there itself. Later, it was extended up to Secunderabad and Nizamabad now up to Adilabad.[1]

Route

This train runs via Mudkhed, Secunderabad, Vijayawada and Gudur. The train starts at 20:45/8:45 PM at Adilabad and reaches 21:25/5:25 PM at Tirupati Main of the next day of journey date. The return journey of this train starts from Tirupati Main at 05:25 hrs and reaches Adilabad the next day at 06:15 hrs.[2]

During its journey to and fro it covers 62 stations respectively including source and destination points.[3][4]
