Route description [edit]
LA 502 begins at an intersection with US 165, where it travels to the east. LA 502 then turns north after it crosses the Union Pacific Railroad, where it follows the original routing of US 165. LA 502 serves as the older alignment until it ends at an intersection with LA 500.
LA 502 is an undivided, two-lane road for its entire route. Before the 1955 Louisiana Highway renumbering, LA 502 was known as State Route 2115. A portion of LA 502 between its turn northward and LA 500 is an original piece of US 165. Therefore, LA 502 was also signed as State Route 14.
