Still an orphan?[edit]

Important Points when adding dragons[edit]

Because this is a list of fictional dragon characters, every dragon must be:

  • A single, notable named character with importance to the media mentioned, not multiple characters or species.
  • Actual dragons, not lookalikes (Such as Digimon or Pokemon, which go in their own corresponding lists), hybrids (Such as Wyverns) or transformed people (unless it's their regular form).

That's your thought, doesn't mean we should go ahead with it especially if there's conflicting viewpoints we need to discuss this before going forward with changes to avoid edit conflict issues.

The problem is unlike other ones of these lists one can't just simply put dragons in a TV show or Movie because there's no dragons to be found. Unlike lists of cats or dogs where them simply appearing on a scene doesn't automatically warrant it's listing, dragons; due to their lack of physical existence are forced to be notable characters in episodes or films. Wyverns are a type of dragon, getting rid of them means getting rid of most in live action films. The list could be reformatted to indicate the type of dragon like in the birds of prey list (I have done something like this with dragons elsewhere). Transformations could be a column in that table too as while normally in human form they are a dragon when they are transformed thus they should count as a dragon appearing in the media.ShadowDragon343 (talk) 20:14, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The primary criterion for inclusion in this list is notability, in addition to if the source material says the character is a (type of) dragon. I think reformatting the list to have different subsections for types of dragons, as well as whether or not the character transforms from/to a dragon, though, I would think that we would only be justified if we can find three or more examples for each subsection.--Mr Fink (talk) 20:51, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I can easily do that, make a table that labels them by the types:Eastern (Dragon Pearl, Dragon Ball, The Monkey King 2) , Western (Sleeping Beauty, Dragonheart, Dragon Tales), Wyvern (Game of Thrones, The Hobbit, Reign of Fire), Multiple (American Dragon: Jake Long, D-War, ) and Other (Malcho). Then there would be a column for transformations saying yes or no (Beyond Sherwood Forest, American Dragon).

The list would be sorted by the name of the first named one or if unnamed (like 7th voyage of Sindbad), by the name of the media Here is an example:
