File copyright problem with File:Kendujhar.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Kendujhar.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 06:23, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

March 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Oriya language, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Moving your user pages[edit]

Please note that user and user talk pages are intended for communication with the related wikipedia editor and are not supposed to be placed in mainspace. Therefore I have again moved your pages back to your userspace. I would advice you not to move any more pages on wikipedia until you are familiar with the various spaces, and the article naming conventions. Abecedare (talk) 07:01, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://gajapati.nic.in/sonsofsoil/eminent%5Cemiperson.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. File permission problem with File:Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 08:01, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Baji Rout requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Copyright problem: Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.orissa.gov.in/e-magazine/Orissareview/2009/Jan/engpdf/33-35.pdf, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! VernoWhitney (talk) 17:54, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, we strongly discourage commercial external links in the text, e.g. "DAR Consultants"; often they are SPAM. Links should be to companies if notable enough to have their own articles. In this case it is quite simple; DAR does have a wiki article, Dar Al-Handasah which can be linked, and in turn links the website. I have changed the link. File permission problem with File:Gangadhar Meher.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gangadhar Meher.jpg.

Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 14:13, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Maharaja Shri Krushna Chandra Gajapati.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Maharaja Shri Krushna Chandra Gajapati.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

License tagging for File:Kelucharan Mohapatra.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kelucharan Mohapatra.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Passport 19-05-10.TIF[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Passport 19-05-10.TIF. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 12:55, 17 September 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:55, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Mihir-2.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mihir-2.PNG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 12:02, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Tandra Ray has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

No info about this person with refrences of noble info (Such as IMDB which should be at least one source from there)

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Fair use rationale for File:Kelucharan Mohapatra.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Kelucharan Mohapatra.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Proposed deletion of Jauna Murmu[edit]

The article Jauna Murmu has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject does not meet WP:NTRACK.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Stop icon

Your recent editing history at North East Delhi riots shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. ⋙–DBigXray 08:50, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:DBigXray, what exactly does it mean edit war. I didn't change anybody's edit. I simply put an additional section regarding new information and evidences surfaced w.r.t. the incident. It's not a fancy of my mind. Why do you and other editors think that it shouldn't be there. I need clarification. Does it not have the correct citations? Is the information put in the section incorrect? Then why it is being removed repeatedly? And why do you think that putting a section in the article changes the content to the way 'how I think is should be'? Does it mean that you people created the article in the way 'you think it should be'? That's why it's been repeatedly reverted. Bishupriyaparam (talk) 09:11, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at User talk:Bishupriyaparam, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

See wP:REVERT to understand why your edit is a revert. repeatedly adding something after multiple editors have removed it is an wP:EW. Not everything that has a citations can be added to wikipedia. This content is currently disputed and being discussed on the talk page. you can read the thread to understand why we cannot add it. ⋙–DBigXray 09:10, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Of course I reverted it back. Can you explain me why my addition was first reverted. And why it should be a dispute as there's lot of information available. The article as of now has put information based entirely on allegations. For eg. few politicians have directly charged for inciting the riots. Did you have a discussion on the talk page before publishing that. Why some statements should be put forward as the reason of the riots and not what really has been done by some elements? Bishupriyaparam (talk) 09:28, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Don't keep adding content here that has been deleted multiple times in the past. Check the article talkpage and discuss with the editors involved. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:17, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I think that aby content along these lines belongs at the main article, so I have redirected it along those lines. If you wish to add any content to the main article please do so, but please remember that our goal is a neutral, impersonal tone. Your article was written like an advert, and was entirely unacceptable as an encyclopedic article. Best GirthSummit (blether) 20:57, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GirthSummit, It was an incomplete article, with many more sections were to be added. How it was like an advert? It was properly sourced and most of the content was actual quotes of the religious leader. Even if it was like that, you could have discussed and highlighted the issues before removing and redirecting the entire article. I could have modified it. Before writing the article, I had gone through similar articles of other religious leaders to have a better idea.

And, as of the main article is concerned, not even a little editing is allowed there. Every edit is being reverted. You can go to the talk page of the article to see my comments at the end. There has been no response whatsoever. Please help. Bishupriyaparam (talk) 21:10, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GirthSummit, I didn't get any response from you. So, I am going to remove the redirect and revert the content and edit it to make a more impartial article and add few other sections. I think, the introductory part of the article seems to have personal tone, though unintentional. The rest is just exact quotes of the person. I'll see if something can be modified from that part too. You may check that afterwards and decide if it is according to Wikipedia standards or not based on other similar articles.

And I'll again request you to go through my comments on the talk page of the main article and help to lift the editing blockade. ThanksBishupriyaparam (talk) 09:04, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bishupriyaparam, I was offline - I'm not active 24/7! The problem is that it seems like you're creating a WP:POVFORK. This content should be covered at the main article about the person - if you're having problems getting consensus for the content there, your approach should be to engage with dispute resolution, rather than trying to start a new article. I'll try to find time over the weekend to look into this in more depth. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 10:01, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

GirthSummit, I went through the details of WP:POVFORK. After going through other similar articles and the content of the current article, and being convinced that it doesn't fall under the category of WP:POVFORK, I started the article. I have no disagreement with anybody's opinion about the main article, simply because it's not about opinion, but sharing authentic information. And I have engaged constructively resolving the editing issues there, though without any response. The main reason behind creating this article was its content. The content will be too lengthy to be a part of the main article. I often noticed, specifically in biographical articles, there have been related articles to the main article. For example, the article Swami Vivekanand includes a summary of his teachings and philosophy in the main article and a separate article on Teachings and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. Also, I am of the idea that when the restrictions on the main article will be revoked, this article will help editing it. So, I am restoring and editing the article. If you find anything not as per Wikipedia standards after that, we can discuss and I'll redirect it again to the main article myself. Bishupriyaparam (talk) 10:48, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - first of all, can I ask you to stop using my signature when you reply to me? It's rather confusing - a better way to ping me is just to type {{u|Girth Summit}}.
So, going back to POVFORK, you told me above that you created this as a new article because you tried adding it to the main article but were getting reverted there, which corresponds to the first couple of sentences of that guideline. I'd suggest that, with the main article as short as it currently is (just a couple of very short paragraphs), it could be significantly expanded with information about his philosophy and teachings - a separate article isn't currently required, it would only be necessary of the main article grew too large.
Coming back to the issue of the material you wrote - there are several problems. If we start with the first sentence - Thakur Anukulchandra (1888–1969) was an Indian Guru, philosopher and the founder of Satsang, a non-sectarian, philanthropic organization. This is referenced to two sources: Incredible India, and the Times of India. I'd question the reliability of the Incredible India site - it's promotional, it is there to encourage people to visit places. I'd avoid using sources like that. The Times of India is better, but crucially I can't see where either of these sources support the description of Anukulchandra as a philosopher, or of Satsang as non-sectarian. These might be true, but as a reviewer I can't see any evidence of them in the cited sources.
Then we come to the second sentence: His unconditional and nondiscriminatory love and acceptance of human beings attracted people of all faiths and every walks of life towards him who accepted him as their realized guide, guru and living ideal, without diluting their identities. This prose is outrageously promotional, and is sourced to an entirely unreliable source - it is dubiously published, and written not by an academic or a recognised expert in history, philosophy or comparative religion, but by an IT consultant (with qualifications in mechanical engineering and business administration) who also happens to be a member of Satsang. As a source, it isn't reliable enough to support any assertion. What you are looking for is academic textbooks discussing his philosophy, written by people who are experts in that field. If you can find some of them, I'd be willing to help you use them to expand the main article with neutral prose, but content like this is never suitable. Girth Summit, thank you for the suggestions. What I told about my trying to edit the main article, was just informing you about the blockade. This article is not a reaction to that as I have clarified earlier.
If you see, I have already edited out the sentences you mentioned even before your reply. About the sources, I'll rectify those wherever necessary. In the mean time, please let this article stay. I would appreciate if you help expand the main article after going through my suggestions in the talk page. I need clarity on those points from some Wikipedia admin. It'll help me to have a better outlook regarding my contribution in the future. Once the main article is expanded, this article can be merged into it if required. I'll be careful about the sources in the future. Bishupriyaparam (talk) 15:27, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Bishupriyaparam, I'm afraid that I don't think you're doing the right thing by publishing this article in mainspace. There are a number of problems with it - those two initial sentences were just the start, and I note that you are still using those sources which are clearly not RS. There's also the point that you are including extensive quotes from the subject himself - articles should be primarily written around reliable, independent, secondary sources - it wouldn't necessarily be wrong to include a small quote from the subject himself in the appropriate context, but we should really be explaining his philosophy and its impact in terms of what other people have written about it. I am not going to revert your republication, but I warn you that I won't be surprised if the article, in its current state, is nominated for deletion; I will take a bit of time to examine your sources in more detail before taking any further action myself. Girth Summit, I got your point. I presumed that since it is about the person's views, quoting him will be more factual and authentic. Anyway, I'll modify it. Give me some time. I think I have enough material now to expand the main article. Thanks. Bishupriyaparam (talk) 05:49, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Bishupriyaparam, hi - just in case you didn't see it, I've made some detailed notes on the sources you've used at this article on its talk page. At this stage, I think that I will either draftify the article, or nominate to AfD - I don't think that the sources demonstrate notability, and I haven't been able to find better ones myself. Let me know which option you would prefer, best GirthSummit (blether) 09:28, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Philosophy and Teachings of Thakur Anukulchandra, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi - I realise you can't be online 24/7 (just like me!), so I've draftified this for now. You can continue to work on it, if you believe that you can find some reliable sources to support the content. If you disagree with my assessment, you can republish it in article space and send to AfD to see what the community consensus on it is. I'm sure this isn't the outcome you were hoping for, and I'm sorry to disappoint, but I'm convinced that it is not ready for article space.
