Speedy deletion declined: Li County, Hunan

Hello Wikicology. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Li County, Hunan, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: It's not "about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organized event", it's about a real populated place. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 13:41, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Hello sir. I created the page Oohalu Gusagusalade which was tagged with a speedy deletion tag by you just after its creation. I added citations to reliable sources as per the requirement. Jeffrey Umland COI

Wikicology, Thank you for your response on the page I created, Jeffrey Umland. Yes, I am a current student of the State University of New York, but that does not mean I have a direct interest in promoting Jeffrey Umland himself. I have never met Jeffrey, but have known of his achievements and notability for some time now. I thought it would be best for those interested in learning more about the Curiosity rover to have information about one of its major engineers. Would you agree? Also, I wouldn't assume people have COI before asking them. Davidhar (talk) 20:46, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 30

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited MaI regulon, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages ATP and Promoters (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thank you for your message. I would love to receive feed back on how to make the page more fact based and informative. The company I work for has been in business for a decade and thought it was time to make a Wiki page. I will be happy to make any changes. I also would like to write a page about the stamped jewelry. Thank you for your time Ellasotello (talk) 20:11, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

Nelle and lizzy

@Ellasotello: always write a new topic below the existing ones on a talk page.

The article Nelle and lizzy you recently created is a blatant advertisement. It has no good references from a reliable source that validate its notability. Read WP:Advert. Let me quickly also mention that you had violated the wikipedia conflict of interest policy by creating an article that has a connection with you, which is another substantial reason why we can't keep the article here. Read WP:COI. kindly have the decency to wait for a wikipedian with no COI to create an article about your subject here.(Wikicology (talk) 21:15, 8 July 2014 (UTC))

File source problem with File:Taofeek Olakunle Ajiboye.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Taofeek Olakunle Ajiboye.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. July 2014

You really need to stop making disruptive edits to articles. It is expedient of you to properly understand Wikipedia guidelines before making use of Twinkle. Your recent edits to Aize Obayan and Sylvia Oluchy are not very constructive to me. Please refrain from vandalising Wikipedia with your edits. If you have any issue with any part or section of the aforementioned articles, leave a message on its talk page first instead of adding tags indiscriminately to the articles. Darreg (talk) 17:02, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

@Darreg: First of all, removing maintanance tags from the page you had created is an act of blatant vandalism. Kindly have the decency to read WP:Vandalism and don't come to my page to issue warning!! Wikicology (talk) 17:28, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
  • A prod tag may be removed by anybody and must not be put back. Removal of valid references as with this edit is definitely vandalism. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:05, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
@RHaworth: the valid reference remover was unintentional sir. I had reverted his edit before the discovery that he had added new references. Sir do u mean I can remove a maintenance tag from the page I created? Do you also mean that the WP:COI notice on the article is insignificant despite its connection with the creator? — Wikicology (talk) 22:32, 31 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Removing maintenance tags: be more specific - which tags? Eg. it is wrong to remove an {{orphan}} tag if you have not created incoming links. As to COI on Aize Obayan: which editor are you suggesting has COI and why do you think so? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:06, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
@RHaworth: sir a COI notice tag was previously on the article pointing to its major contributor having a connection with the article. And the major contributor is Darreg (talk · contribs).Sir immediately darreg (talk · contribs) got a notice that I proposed the article he created for deletion, he decided to propose Olawoye Theo Ladapo a page I created for deletion. From my WP:POV I don't think such tag by Darreg is from a WP:NPOV Wikicology (talk) 15:07, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
  • A previous COI tag is not good enough. I want your reason for suggesting COI otherwise, I shall dismiss your claim as baseless. I believe that there is a tit-for-tat element in the AfD proposal for Olawoye Theo Ladapo but what does it matter - clearly you are going to improve that article to the point where the AfD decision will be an unambiguous keep. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:02, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
@RHaworth: sir my suggestion was based on the notice on the article. I don't have the tool to investigate him. Enfcer (talk · contribs) did the tagging and had once proposed the article for deletion. He will be in the best position to prove its connection with Darreg (talk · contribs) sir.Wikicology (talk) 18:40, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Removing AfD template

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Olawoye Theo Ladapo. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot I NotifyOnline 09:41, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

  • I made the AfD for Charles Ayo for you. If you wish, you "vote" with your arguments. If I had seen this article before, I would have proposed its deletion all the same. Regards. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 09:56, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Hello. I noticed that you attempted to file a deletion discussion (on the article Africa Movie Academy Award for Most Promising Actor) but did not complete the process. Please note that, when listing an article for deletion, a discussion page needs to be made for other users to discuss whether to keep or delete the article. This is typically done by following the steps listed here. Note that if you are editing as an unregistered user, you cannot create a discussion page. Please consider registering an account or asking another user to help you complete the process at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. Thank you. Ansh666 11:51, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Olufemi.jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Olufemi.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 07:28, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 4

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nahzeem Olufemi Mimiko, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Conference. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on File:Ebola Virus genetics.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. What's up Bro?

Don't undo my edits and call it Vandalism, It was not. • Xavier, I consider it perfectly reasonable to include Golan the Insatiable, he may not be real he may not be human but he can validly be described as a person and the blus link says he is notable.
