Article move

Hello Bedford, I was just soliciting input for a request for an article move for Talk:The Brycc House. I found this article while making an assessment from a list of needing assessed and it needs a lot of work. This being one of the top priorities. Jahnx (talk) 07:59, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I stated looking at it as soon as you posted to Stevie. I'm busy sorting the Louisville NRHP places by neighborhoods, but I'll give a quick look.--Bedford (talk) 08:07, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

Updated DYK query On 8 January, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article List of Civil War Monuments of Kentucky MPS, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

--Wizardman 23:28, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't see it on the main page, it's because I removed it due to there being roughly 750 characters of prose (not including the list; a DYK needs 1,500 characters. It will still count as a DYK article though. Wizardman 00:14, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the clarification. As long as it still counts, it's cool. However, I believe the original nom is still on the template talk page.--Bedford (talk) 00:18, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And this one will stay on the main page this time, no worries there :)--Wizardman 05:56, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My thought, and hope, as well. ;-) --Bedford 05:57, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

rollback

Hi, I think I have given you rollback privileges. when looking at diffs, or article histories or your watchlist, you should be able to rollback edits with just one click. This should just be used with simple vandalism or obvious mistake edits; anything else and you should do a manual revert so you can explain the reason. Let me know if it didn't work... the ability to give out rollback access to non-admins is still a new feature. --W.marsh 22:22, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possible edit warring on project article

There seems to be some issues going on over on the article : Military history of African Americans, in particularly in the section Military history of African Americans#Confederate States Army. Could you take a look at the article's edit history as well as the discussion, Talk:Military history of African Americans, and possibly give some input? Thanks. Your good faith edits regarding WrestleMania in 2010

World Wrestling Entertainment has not had any involvement with the city's promotion of the event. The 25th edition of WrestleMania hasn't even been scheduled yet so there would be no chance in the 26th edition being scheduled before it. WP:PW understands your edits are in good faith. However, please consider the fact that we fully understand the intentions behind Wayne Gretzky's campaign to bring the 26th WrestleMania to the city in 2010 and have been made aware that World Wrestling Entertainment's involvement in the campaign is non-existent. It is unfortunate that other news sources have been led to believe the contrary due to the campaign as it has certainly misinformed readers. Again, to clarify on the situation, WWE has had no involvement in this and have even yet to schedule the 25th WrestleMania event. The city is just bidding to host the event much like Orlando did for WrestleMania XXIV. -- bulletproof 3:16 20:29, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article length

How do I check whether or not an article meets the 2000 criteria? The edit history says it was at 3800-something bytes when I nominated it (it's now at 4400-something); I can't give you exact figures since Wikipedia's running sloooooooooow right now... Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:06, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The way to do it is to Ctrl-C the text in the main part of the article, open up MS-Word, Ctrl-V onto MS-Word, use the Word Count command under Tools, and see hwta the letter count with spaces number is. I know, its a pain in the ass but they nailed a couple of mine that way.--Bedford 19:14, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for markup repair

Thank you for fixing the markup in the sig for my DYK nom a few minutes ago! I'd edited it once or twice while working on the article and neglected to notice that I'd saved an old timestamp at some point. Portal Indianapolis Situation

Don't sweat the whole Richard fiasco. No idea why "my" would be such a big deal. I would think "I'm not going to ask permission" would be more of an indication of not working together, but whatever. We're doing fine, and don't need anyone to look over it just now. If you need help, let Hoosier or myself know and we'll add it to the To Do list. KK?  :) -- JTHolla! 00:23, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments. What we need are more entries for Did You Know (at least 4 more), 10 more quality pictures for selected pictures, an article that's a list of attractions for Indy (see red link on the Portal), and then format every article/attraction/bio similar to Portal:Louisville, which is currently going to be featured, and is what peer review said what was wanted for a city portal.--Bedford 00:32, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
