Economic history again

Hi Cambalachero and happy new year to you!! During the past few days I've made a few more additions to the article Economic history of Argentina but I can't think of what else needs to be expanded before I submit it to good articles nominations. Can you give me some more of your useful tips? Thank you!--Frère Jacques (talk) 12:29, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

August 26 OTD

Thanks for adding Juan José Castelli to Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/August 26. It's always good to get more coverage of South America. Now I noticed that Santiago de Liniers, 1st Count of Buenos Aires needs some more references, but if you could get that article fixed up a bit, we could bold both articles for that day. howcheng {chat} 20:09, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cambalachero - Are you still working on the GA review for this article? I went back through the review today, and made a few strikes based on your edits of the past couple of weeks. However, there are still several issues, mostly regarding sourcing, that still need to be addressed. This review is approaching a month long, which is much longer than the normal term. I would appreciate knowing if you are still interesting in working on this article with a view towards GA. Thanks, Dana boomer (talk) 22:40, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited List of national founders, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page War of independence (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ayuda

Necesito ayuda. Intenté reportar un usuario que reportó la sección "Grupos Etnicos". Acá está mi intento de denuncia, con la consecuente explicación del asunto, en un absurdo y malísimo inglés: * Pristino (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) At 06:06, 26 January 2012,‎ user Pristino changed (diff) from the article “Argentina” after having changed the same section in the article Chile (diff). It is an imminently, an act of vandalism, as it was done immediately, he edited a never changed section because of its thoroughness, and especially knowing that I used to edit the section of the article "Chile" the same source, as opposed to their own which lacks scientific rigor (a report is based on his own, which may not be representative of a population). The source used by him (http://www.latinobarometro.org/latino/latinobarometro.jsp) is less stringent than the previous one (http://www.worldstatesmen.org) and also consider his action as a racist attack, cos the content of the data changed. It is also understood their lack of objectivity, and bias of his data. Please help me and sorry for my bad english. Saludos.

Wikimedia Stories Project

Aloha!

My name is Victor and I work with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. We're chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade new people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who use Wikipedia have so much to share.

I find stories that drive our annual fundraising efforts. It's important to convey the incredible diversity of people who've come to rely upon Wikipedia every day.

I'd really like the opportunity to interview you to tell your story, with the possibility of using it in our materials, on our community websites, or as part of this year’s fundraiser to encourage others to support Wikipedia.

I will be in Buenos Aires from the 10th - 11th of March 2012.

I'm hoping you will elaborate on your story with me. Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project!

Thank you,

Economic history

Hi, I noticed that you added some book references to Economic history of Argentina as you expanded it, however one of them (Galasso 2003) is not referred to in the extended form (title, publisher, etc.) and therefore the links leading to it are broken. Can you add it? Thank you and keep up the good work!--eh bien mon prince (talk) 12:23, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please can you justify your "many mistakes and inaccuracies" comment at the talk page for Argentine Civil Wars.86.4.27.128 (talk) 19:00, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Response to your comment

Even the Name of Argentina was not used until 1826 (at the breakup of the United Provinces). Also describing the United Provinces as composed of the modern states of Uruguay, Northern Argentina, Southern Bolivia etc. IS accurate. The secession of Buenos Aires in 1826 is also a pivotal event. 86.4.27.128 (talk) 20:00, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"The secession of Buenos Aires in 1826"? It's hard to take you seriously when you say nonsenses like this. Please, follow the discussion at the link I gave you. Cambalachero (talk) 20:10, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there is a further comment at the link. 86.4.27.128 (talk) 12:02, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

HI, sorry I moved the discussion to the separate articles but if we do not take the items one at a time it may not be possible to get a resolution. When I read Wikipedia on South American history it gives a very vague and inconsistent account of the period 1810 to 1832. The most obvious problem for a reader is geographical and historical context. Where were these places? How did events fit in with global events? I believe that several articles would be improved by addressing these contexts. 86.4.27.128 (talk) 16:44, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you have no objection I will change the heading and first sentence at British invasions of the Río de la Plata. 86.4.27.128 (talk) 14:08, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please dont just revert without any reasons. If you feel that the map that I added was incorrect then please tell me how. I can alter it. 86.4.27.128 (talk) 15:56, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cambalachero, I have added a map to the History of Argentina page. A map really is essential for people who do not know the region to understand what is happening. You seem to be happy with the "toned down" changes on the British Invasions pages and the small of the United Provinces (Argentina) back in the early 19th century. If you have any problems with these maps please tell me what to change, but outsiders really do need some maps to know what is going on. 86.4.27.128 (talk) 15:54, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, it would be great to sort out this problem of the location of the United Provinces of Rio de la Plata, I have changed the map to respond to your comments. I will tidy it up once we come to an agreement about the borders. 86.4.27.128 (talk) 12:19, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

GA nomination for Cornelio Saavedra

Greetings, Cambalachero! I'm just letting you know that I'll be reviewing you GA nomination of Cornelio Saavedra. Here is a link to the discussion. I wish this article best of luck! Wilhelmina Will (talk) 11:38, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, Cambalachero! I'm sorry it's taken me a while to progress with this GA review, but I've gotten started on it now, and I noticed an issue with the licensing of one of the images used in the article. I hope you will come to the GA discussion page linked above, and help resolve this issue. Thanks in advance! :) Wilhelmina Will (talk) 10:18, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again! Well, it took a while due to time management on my part, but hopefully it was worth waiting for. Saavedra passed! Congratulations! :) Like my singing? Ha-la-la-la-la-la-LA-LAAA!!! (talk) 08:49, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Letting you know I removed your edit to the February 23 page as it constitutes a current event. The rational is that if the DOY project permits this, it becomes an open invitation to all to add every news article around the globe. Please feel free to add it back once the event is no longer "current." Thanks! Ken Tholke (talk) 13:12, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up on the "Vickers Tank" picture

Hi, thanks for leaving a note in my talk page. I'm not very used to uploading pictures and found difficult to identify the correct copyright tag in each case. In addition, my time to contribute to Wikipedia is extremaly limited, so if I made a mistake has been in good faith. Will give a look at the links oyu've provided, before requesting undeletion to approprialely tag the picture. Regards, DPdH (talk) 06:38, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ayuda? :)

Hi Cambalachero! I'm trying to help a user with copyright aspects of a logo from a website, but the fact is I don't know much about these subjects either (but I'm learning!).

The new logo has already been deleted so I restored the old one in the article. A quick review of its copyright info suggests to me that using the same information in the new one should be ok... am I correct?

Cheers, thanks! --Langus (talk) 04:47, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done, the current use and non-free licence are correct Cambalachero (talk) 14:39, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Peronism

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peronism clearly says that Peronism is fascism and thus Kirchnerism, the Justicalist Party and La Cámpora are all part of Fascism — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.18.99.63 (talk) 04:59, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's only about the period of Perón, and only one of several opinions. Can you point someone who specifically label Kirchnerism as fascism? Cambalachero (talk) 13:23, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
