:@Olivier Diotte Done<!--template:done-->. I knew the admin who deleted this (whose been inactive since 2010) and he was a careful fellow but I see how he made the error. The user name was also "Bill Buckels", it read a bit fantastically, and we often see joke articles take that form. I've added the 1886 Pall Mall story as an image.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 04:24, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Revision as of 04:24, 24 April 2015

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in "articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Instructions for special cases

Antoine_Fadavi

This page was deleted due to a false copyright infringement. The bio written is the Wikipedia article is taken from the site www.antoinefadavi.com, which is not copyrighted, so free to use on any platforms. -88.164.12.192 (talk) 09:37, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Hello. All sufficiently unique expression is automatically granted non-free copyright and must be assumed to have that status unless affirmative evidence is found to the contrary (there is no need to place a copyright symbol for this to be true). If you are the copyright owner then you can release the copyright under a suitably free license or into the public domain, but that would have to be done in a verifiable way, such as placing that release on the external website. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more. However, the content could not have been used unmodified even without the copyright issue as it was quite promotional.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 11:20, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I placed the public domain copyright license on every pages of http://www.antoinefadavi.com/wordpress/. Please let me know about how to continue the un-deletion process.

 Not done for multiple reasons:
 • The article would be quickly deleted again at WP:AFD due to lack of any evidence of notability, and lack of evidence that Antoine Fadavi meets any of the criteria spelled out in WP:MUSICBIO. It is not worth restoring pages that have no hope of being kept. See Wikipedia:Golden rule for a general overview of what is expected.
 • It appears to be written by the subject for the purpose of self-promotion or publicity. Wikipedia is not to be used for publicity, and Wikipedia:Autobiographies are strongly discouraged. Please see WP:COI for further guidance.
 • A statement that the website is "free of known copyright restrictions" is not the same as releasing it under an acceptable free license or stating outright that it is public domain.
You are welcome to try to re-create the article via the process described at WP:AFC, which is really the best venue for an author with a conflict of interest. ~Amatulić (talk) 05:54, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Beverly Hills Sports Council

I, Nyfan2007, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Nyfan2007 (talk) 23:56, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note: This page has been deleted multiple times as an abandoned draft article. As Articles for creation, the Draft space, and user subpages are not to be used to indefinitely host material inappropriate for the encyclopedia, what exactly would you do to help make the draft get accepted as an article? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 00:13, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Two deletions so far, no edits at all in the six months elapsed between your last restore request and the latest delete. Wikipedia does not host unsuitable material indefinitely. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 22:27, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This was a subpage of a user who was permanently blocked for some reason in which I wasn't involved. However the information on this page was important to a project in which he and I were both involved and I would like to recover it for personal use (and the use of anybody else interested in the project). Given that the user is banned I'm not sure how it would work but if needs must I would be happy for it to be restored in my namespace rather than his. -Keresaspa (talk) 00:30, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Fixed report to point to correct title; remember that all page titles on Wikipedia are case-sensitive. I will note, however, that G5 deletions will not be overturned here the best that can be done, possibly, is for an admin to send you the text of the page at time of deletion in the Bossanoven userspace (The Hoops gza userspace page was moved to the Bossanoven one). —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 18:15, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
An admin to send me the text would be perfect. I'm not bothered about the actual page being restored just having access to the contents and I didn't know how to request that. I can find a home for the contents on my sandbox or somewhere, no problem. Keresaspa (talk) 20:15, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

All of the draft article's references are to the company website or its Facebook, except one which does not mention Vanguard; but Wikipedia requires references showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, both to establish notability and to provide independent sources for an article. Ho Siu Kee is a prestigious artist in Hong Kong and thus, we created this page simply because we believe it worths to do so. Since we are only students and beginner of using Wikipedia, we sincerely hope that someone could help us to modify or guide us, so that the page won't be deleted. Thanks a lot![reply]

@Willy Weazley:  Done though, as usual when people copy in their own websites, it's too promotional and will need considerable reworking to be an acceptable article. Will you now add the permission template to the talk page? The system won't let me. JohnCD (talk) 21:19, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@JohnCD:. Well, idk. My job as an OTRS member it's confirm the release. If the page don't fit on wiki's notability guidelines it's an editorial stuff. I can reject the text, if you delete the page as spam.Willy Weazley 05:05, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Willy Weazley: no, not to worry, those remarks weren't aimed at you, but at the page author in case they watched this and supposed that OTRS clearance meant the article was acceptable and could be published. It's in a sandbox, so it's not so bad as to need speedying. All too many newbies think WP is just a noticeboard to pin up copies of their promotional fluff, and have to learn that an encyclopedia article is different. Global Traveler

I would like request that the deleted content be emailed to me so the content can be improved upon prior to republishing on Wikipedia -76.124.195.246 (talk) 16:31, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done, but I will do it if you register an account, or sign in if you have one, and enable email, which you do by clicking "Preferences" at the top of the screen, and then at the bottom of the "User profile" tab enter your email address (which will not be visible) and check the box marked "Enable email from other users".
If you prepare a new version based on the old one, you should not simply post it (a) because the old one was deleted at WP:Articles for deletion/Global Traveler, and (b) because a history-merge will be necessary to ensure that contributions from earlier authors are properly attributed. You should make a page at Draft:Global Traveler and then apply at WP:Deletion review giving a link to it. JohnCD (talk) 20:55, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The reason the article was deleted is that they weren't "of note". Videos of their songs on youtube have several thousand views, and you can find them on spotify. @Pvetch:  Not done. That was a copyright violation from https://www.cmscritic.com/dir/products/wagtail/, but quite apart from that it was not an encyclopedia article, it was a blatant advertisement, full of glowing adjectives: "fast, powerful and elegant... unrivalled user experience... lightning fast... slick, responsive UI..." etc. Anything like that is deleted from Wikipedia at sight. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Qatari Businessmen Association

I, Shadid200, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Shadid200 (talk) 13:07, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Shadid200:  Not done - this page canot be restored, even temporarily, because it is a copyright violation from http://www.qataribusinessmen.org/support/aboutqba.htm. Wikipedia cannot accept copied text without a formal copyright release from the actual copyright holder.
In any case, even if the copyright issue were resolved, this is quite unsuitable for an encyclopedia article, written in the first person ("We are very proud... Our association..." and in a highly promotional tone, full of "peacock terms". An encyclopedia is not a place for the QBA to tell the world about itself. See User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard for advice. THE FABULOUS DEE HARRELL

My Article page was deleted I believe by mistake can it be restored? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jazzangel11 (talkcontribs) 20:36, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

See below. JohnCD (talk) 22:08, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Fabulous Dee Harrell

I was unaware that I could not use excerpts from Articles that were written about Ms. Dee Harrell. Any copyright infringement was truly unintentional. I was asked to write this article for Ms. Harrell, but there was no intentional misuse of copyright material on my part or on the part of Dee Harrell. Please restore the material that was deleted. We will delete any material unacceptable to Wikipedia. The Article written by Hoops McCann is in the possession of Ms. Harrell and can be submitted for verification should that be necessary. } — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jazzangel11 (talkcontribs) 21:06, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jazzangel11:  Not done. I can't trace any deleted article by that name, nor are there any deleted articles from your account. No matter: if the deleted article contained copyright violations it cannot be restored, even temporarily.
If you are writing on behalf of Ms Harrell you have, from Wikipedia's point of view, a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and should carefully read that page and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. In brief, you need to be very careful, and should not edit directly about your client/employer, but may submit a draft using the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process, writing in your own words and not copy-pasting other people's work. Please understand that Wikipedia is not a social-networking site and is not for any kind of advertising or promotion. It requires a neutral point of view - no opinions, just plain facts about what Ms Harrell has achieved, cited to reliable sources. Read WP:Your first article for advice, and WP:MUSICBIO for the relevant WP:Notability standard. JohnCD (talk) 22:06, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Just thought I'd note that I was also searching and could find no trace, including going back in the deletion log to April 1 and looking for a partial title match.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:28, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm completing this for an IP that contested the deletion on my userpage. They asked for the page to be sent to them, but since it was deleted via PROD I don't see any reason not to restore it to the mainspace so they can work on it from there. I've restored it, but I'm listing it here just for records' sake. -Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 03:30, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Olivier Diotte Done. I knew the admin who deleted this (whose been inactive since 2010) and he was a careful fellow but I see how he made the error.
