Regarding article edits

Hi TheBirdsShedTears! I realise that removal of content, especially that which has citations, is serious, but I understand that some material on Stone pelting in Kashmir is neither relevant nor in an encyclopedic manner. I do beg pardon if edit summaries were not enough to clarify removals. I removed two paragraphs as part of my edits-

In the section on background of ground events, even activities of the Pakistan armed forces on social media are mentioned. Moreover, they are not a party to political negotiations that could influence events.

The second paragraph refers to a Facebook page and Google searches linking to a few private individuals, enough to not find mention on a Wiki page by itself.

I believe some these additions were not a result of research or do not have authentic citations. A majority of edits made should stand the test of sufficient reason, and I even noted the violation of neutrality flagged by a user on the article talk page after I read your comment.

Hello TheBirdsShedTears,

First, I would like to thank you for reviewing my AfC of Draft:Jose Perez (actor). When I submitted my first Draft, I was unaware that IMDB was not a reliable source and used it extensively. I thought I had replaced all those references with better sources before I resubmitted it, but now I see I missed a few. I will take care of that before I resubmit it.

I am confused by the charge that the current draft was not written in a neutral tone, however. Could you please identify any text I wrote that is in any way not neutral and I will immediately correct it.

Here are some words/terms/phrases that violates NPOV;

_'rose to notability"

_"significant role in a notable production" (cited with IMDb)

_"most significant contribution" (cited with film database site).

_and so on...

Thank you for explaining. I thought of those phrases as just descriptive (like the "known for" designator), but now that I understand I will amend them.

Unfortunately, I am still (or again) confused now about references. If IMDB isn't objectionable in and of itself as you explain here, and replacing its citations won't fix my citation issue as you imply, I'm not sure I understand what would. Don't the multiple citations of articles specifically focused on him and his work show notability?

Reason for your rejection

Hi,

You rejected my draft article on the NACK-Oriented Reliable Multicast (NORM) protocol because "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources."

I modeled my submission on the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) article. In fact, I copied the TCP article and basically started rewriting everything to match the NORM protocol. With the exception of the Background section, all the information about the protocol comes from the IETF Request for Comment document, in this case RFC 5740. I also compared my NORM article to another transport layer protocol article, Stream Control Transmission Protocol, and think my article is much better supported.

Could you please tell me more precisely what you think is lacking? Because again——with the exception of the Background paragraph, which I took great pains to document——everything in there comes right from the RFC, just as TCP, UDP, and SCTP do.

What i mean is that the mentioned sections are not cited. Please add reference as you have added to "Background" section. Your submission is cited with 9 references (external links) but rest parts are not cited. For instance, let's say "COVID" have caused many deaths across various countries. But how can one verify this claim unless it is not cited with sources such as books, newspapers, journals etc?. To be more specific, Wikipedian articles must be well-sourced with inline citations like ([1]). Please read WP:IC and WP:CS.

This is in regard to change in opindia page

I have noticed that you made a change in opindia recently by moving the added content to the reception section. But you have done that selectively. The 2020 incident should get shifted to the reception section from lead in the same parameter you have applied to move 2019 occasion or both should be together in the lead. About the Draft:2004 Connecticut State Senate election

So I see you declined the draft because it should be merged into an exisiting article 2004 United States Senate election in Connecticut. The thing is those are two different elections, even though they're in the same state. They shouldn't be merged. Plicabelles, the first 9 sources added in submission are book databases, shopping sites, and blogs. You need to go through submission and replace unreliable sources with reliable sources. It is better to remove poorly sourced content in case reliable sources are not available. I am ok with slobodenpecat.mk, sitel.com.mk, opserver.mk, and novamakedonija.com.mk. Cormarer, atleast 3 great sources are required to demonstrate notability. Any unsourced material must be either removed or cited with reliable entries. In case, sources are not available for specific content/parts of submission, you may remove it. Since your submission is about a musician, please try to add discography with reliable entries. A good lead section, career, and discography should be added. Notability is not determined by the length of article, but it is demonstrated by reliable sources. Thank you for the reply. Many of the references are articles on newspapers or on independent web sites (e.g. reviews of concerts). The composer and his work are mentioned by one of the most influential Italian astrophysicist (Margherita Hack) and this is referenced. Are these not acceptable? I'm going to now analyze my sources:

Quartz: Mentioned founder's name 8 times mentioned organization name 6 times, basically the whole article is about it

Fast Company: Founder's name 2 times, organization name 3 times Whole article is basically about it, provides a criticism section (I should include that in the article)

Tech Crunch: 6 mentions for organization name, 8 mentions for founder name, section written about it (not the whole article) about 1/4-1/3

Chicago Tribune (newly added): 3 mentions for founder's name and another 3 for organization name. Article is basically interviews with NGOs and people who volunteered there, about half of the article covers the organization.

I believe that the article at least has 2-3 reliable sources that provide significant coverage, and maybe 4.

Stephen Hogan

With five major newspaper saying he is an actor and so much filmography, which is incomplete, why do you keep saying it's not verifiable or reliably sourced. This just doesn't make sense. But obviously, he didn't have an Oscars if that's what you mean about being notable. Clarification on rejection for Royal Ambarrukmo

Hello TheBirdsShedTears,

I understand that you have recently rejected my draft for Draft:Royal Ambarrukmo having tagged it as "not adequately supported by reliable sources".

I was wondering if I could get a further clarification on your decision?

I am asking this because the sources I have referred to included articles from National Newspapers, a journal article from a University Database, as well as articles from the local government and the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. Only one of the sources are considered primary (website of the hotel) and that was used to cite basic information. Several of the sources are in Indonesian, but they are translatable via translating engines like google translate. As an example, I have inputted the sources onto Google Translate, and they were translated successfully without much trouble.

I just would like to request further clarification, as it is in my honest belief that apart from one source, all the others are verifiable and independent of the organisation/hotel in question.

I was hoping the reasons for rejection could be reconsidered, as the reason "the sources cited to be Filmography with reliable sources is needed to demonstrate notability" appear to be invalid when taking into account the vast majority of sources, which include South China Morning Post (one of the main national papers in Asia), Variety (the main film trade magazine in the US), Screen International (one of the biggest trade papers in the UK), InvestHK (the creative division of the Hong Kong government), China Press (a major paper in Asia), Hong Kong Trade Development Council (a government division in Hong Kong), and BrightTalk (again reputable). The use of longstanding reputable national and international newspapers, and government entities should fit the definition of "reliable sources".

Also the 2nd point "Also, multiple independent reliable sources are required to support claims such as how the director, producer "developed high concept stories"" is wrong because the entry does not discuss "how" high concept stories are developed. Instead the entry states that the subject formed a company "to develop high concept stories" which is information directly stated by the subject in interviews, and the company's mission statement.

Still, the draft speaks of Russian subject and is, in fact, almost the translation of existing Russian wikipedia page of a subject, provided with dozens of sources. All of them in original Russian. The first is a peer-reviewed academic journal article and the second is a peer-reviewed academic conference abstract (independent publishers). This one is completely independent of EAGO. This one[29] does not reference EAGO, but is cited as it is an algebraic modeling language front-end that EAGO was developed for use with. TellyMix source is talking about her television music competition. Music competitions contribute very little to notability. NME source is saying "Talia Dean is lead singer of King’s Daughters" (I think a musical group).

PinkNews seems talking about her participation in X Factor competition show. A musician (see WP:MUSICBIO) is presumed notable "if they meet at least one of the following criteria":

1. Has received multiple independent coverage in reliable sources. (independent sources generally discuss the subject in detail without influence of other topics. See WP:IS).

2. Has won/nominated notable award(s).

3. Has made significant contribution to music.

However, due to lack of resources in some countries like (Burundi, Somalia, Central Africa, Niger etc.), media is not much active and as a result, notable topics receive very less media attention. Hello - I just wanted to ask about your recent denial of my new page on Mara Karlin. You suggested that I highlight her role in international affairs at the Pentagon. I am a little confused because I have that in the top section and explain how she is currently the acting assistant secretary of defense for international affairs. Joe Biden has nominated her for a new position in the Pentagon of equal stature.

I am confused why she is not considered notable. Every other nominated assistant secretary of defense has a wiki page. In fact, if you look at this [page], she's the only one listed without one. I'd greatly appreciate your help/suggestions in order to improve the draft, please: Based on the previous reviewer's comments, for lack of notoriety, I added more clearly most of the available sources from major, independent, third party news media, just like it is advised in the "Independent Sources" page you also kindly mentioned. I have added video and text interviews from media like CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, Business Insider, Fox News etc. I have only kept the ones in which Mr. Haidar is the primary focus for each interview, not the ones he is trivially mentioned. To be totally open, I had refrained from including or highlighting them in the very first draft, as I tried to maintain neutrality since I have clearly and openly declared COI on this from the very beginning. While there are indeed some primary sources from company websites in the beginning of the article as you mentioned, which I can edit/remove if they affect the outcome, I was under the belief that the number of major news media sources were both clear and adequate in establishing notoriety for the subject.

Based on your feedback, this was obviously not the case and proof of notoriety is still an issue, so I'd greatly appreciate it if you could take some more time to have a look at the draft and be a little more specific on what type of independent sources are not acceptable and need to be improved as per the WP:IS, in order to better understand and improve it. If it helps and to save your time, while there are several other pieces from various outlets like the World Economic Forum website (ref. no. 11), major independent media sources that focus entirely on the subject are no. 9 (CNN), 14 (Bloomberg), 15 (France24), 16 (CNBC), 17 (Business Insider), 18 (Fox Business Network) and 19-20 (Telecom Review).

StefPap73, I don't think it meets WP:GNG. Businesspeople and entrepreneurs must be the main topic of sources without influence of other topics. A source should directly discuss the topic independently in 150 - 200 words. We need only three sources with 150-200 words or 100-150 words each. However I am definitely not here to challenge the rules but only to respect them. Accolades) therefore I have added. To be noted- all my new Author articles would be for notable authors of the same or higher repute than the ones already existing in India. Just, WP hasn't seemed to cover a lot many of them. I have been doing my research. I guess many existing articles need cleanup (since, as I said, it is an ignored Article Domain). Therefore, I will corroborate my way forward before making edits. Lastly, I have resubmitted Draft:Rishabh Dubey post a cleanup. Have a look and see if it can be moved. The article now has similar number and level of citations as Anand Neelakantan who, as I found, is a fellow author of the author in question in here.

Ttttt321, I checked and it appears you misunderstood general notability guidelines. A topic about organization may be only notable if it is discussed in multiple reliable sources with in-depth coverage. You have provided three references, but all sources are trivial mentions. Three sources should discuss the subject directly in 100-150 words. That means, each source should discuss the subject in 100-150 words. Your added sources are talking about other topics and very little about the organisation. For example, if a reliable source discuss organisation's history, background etc. in detail such sources are very useful. When I initially started editing Wikipedia, my articles were deleted because I was not aware of general notability guidelines and notability criteria for people and organisations. Try to make constructive editing without WP:COI and I feel you will soon learn a lot of things about Wikipedia. Also, you may add more than three sources such as 4, 5, 6, 7 etc., but you must provide three independent sources with a lot of information about the organisation. An unfortunate side effect of the immense popularity of the ELONGATE project is that the AfC has gotten clogged with many earnest (yet unprofessional) attempts at submitting an article. With advisement of my colleagues, I waited to submit this draft until we felt confident that the subject had achieved suitable notability (celebrity partnerships, millions in impact, legal incorporation) but our initial draft got denied because there were at least 3 stubs in the queue, as the community had some misplaced excitement and wanted to see the WP article go up rapidly.

Hi, thanks for reviewing my article on Thomas Schoenberger who Cullen Hoback called a "shadowy figure" in the HBO documentary "QAnon: Into the Storm". I am confused as to which sources you do not consider reliable?

The sources I have used are national magazines and news websites, television documentaries cited elsewhere on Wikipedia, court records, and local news articles. These include Billboard Magazine, Napa Valley Register which has been published since 1853, The Daily Beast, documentaries by HBO and Vice, and the most recent book by a Georgia State University professor which was published by Stanford University press. I have also used sworn court documents and depositions available to the public. Kindly let me know which sources are objectionable and why, as this is important to know!!!! :) Thanks:)

Regarding your review of the above mentioned entry, I seek your advice on you:

1. The references used are mostly from local newspaper, are those considered self-promotion or are you referring to a specific reference? 2. Regarding the sections on "supporting the integration of Jordanian and Iraqi Economies" and "careers", should I shorten them, or change the language to make it less self-promoting? 3. Regarding the family section, what references should I use, the father of the person I'm writing the entry about has an Arabic wikipedia page which I couldn't link to.
