==Student Representative Council==
The student representative council consists of undergraduate students elected to represent members from their respective academic units. The team is led by a President assisted by Faculty representatives and several other members of the executive committee elected individually.

Philomath University is a one of the private universities established in 2021 [1]. It is located in Abuja, Nigeria and accredited by the National Universities Commission Currently, it has two faculties and offers nine undergraduate programs. [2]

History and Governance

Philomath University was established in 2021 and received its license from the National Universities Commission that same year. [3] [4] [5] With the establishment of the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Management and Social Science, academic activities started with just four students. In June 2022, Professor Gylych Jelilov was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University with Mr Yasar Aktekin as its Registrar. [6]

Accreditation

In 2021, the university's degrees got accredited by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC). The Faculty of law got approval from the Council of Legal Education (CLE) to run Undergraduate Law programs [7]

News

The Registrar of the university, Mr. Yassar Aktekin, gave a statement saying that the scholarship award offered to prospective students would cover up to 50 percent of school fees. Quoting the Vice Chancellor, "The vision of the university is to be internationally recognized as a university with a global perspective that educates leaders who will fashion a more humane and just world through teaching, learning, transformational scholarship, and dynamic leadership." [8]
