Shapr3D is commercial parametric solid modeling CAD software built by a company of the same name, that is focused on the Product Design and Manufacturing industry.

Shapr3D runs on the Siemens Parasolid modeling kernel[1][2] and is available for Windows[3], macOS, iPadOS and VisionOS[4].

Company

Shapr3D was founded in 2014 by Istvan Csanady[5], and the company is based in Budapest, Hungary[6]. Shapr3D is a venture-backed company, and has raised from firms such as Point Nine, Creandum[7], and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development[8]. In 2020, Shapr3D won an Apple Design award for it's iPad app[9][10].

Features

3D Modeling

  • History-based Parametric Modeling or Direct Modeling workflows [11]
  • 2D Sketches and constraints [12]
  • Importing from or exporting to other CAD formats [13]

2D Drawings

Visualization

  • Adding materials and customizing lighting through a drag and drop interface [15]
  • Exporting to Webview
  • Exporting to AR formats
  • Opening for preview and collaboration on Vision Pro[16]

Other

  • Shapr3D provides a comprehensive library of tutorials to help new users learn the tool.[17]
