Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Hello! I reverted your edit to Thomas Torrance simply because it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I think I understand what you were trying to say but am not sure. Perhaps you could return to the page and clarify your thoughts...thanks. KHM03 13:33, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have the same comment as KHM03 above. I've reverted your edits just because I can't make heads or tails of them. Perhaps we could try to figure out how to phrase it in Talk on the page? Wikibofh 14:29, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't create articles in order to test editing. We have the Sandbox for that. — Trilobite (Talk) 14:55, 18 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

August 2005

Hi. I've reverted your edits to Killyleagh for the following reasons:

  • This page is not the place for discussion of the merits (or otherwise) of the UK Social Security system.
  • While there may be some of the following; "paramilitaries, thieves, drug dealers, burglars, benefit fraudsters, tax dodgers, drunken bums and every kind of lowlife imaginable." I don't think its fair or acceptable to claim the town is "overrun" with such people. Unfortunately I don't have any data on this, perhaps you will provide some before adding any more such allegations?
  • The police station is located at 36 Downpatrick Road.

Thanks for your time, Mark83 21:11, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Parry Hotter And The Seamy Side Of Magic, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. For more information about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, take a look at our Five Pillars. Happy editing! (previously unsigned comment by JoanneB, forgot to sign, sorry)

Bosco13- I got that info off Amazon.co.uk so i think the author spread it around a bit. I can't stay long as this is a library computer but my username is bosco13 and my email is boscob10 .at. hotmail .d0t. com

Ok, the problem is though, we cannot accept stuff like that from any website, not from Amazon.co.uk either. --JoanneB 15:24, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. --Onorem 17:27, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

With regard to your comments on Twin paradox: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Angel Of Sadness T/C 13:12, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey... look. I actually agree that the introduction is too long. However, you should move the content contained within it elsewhere, and you should not delete most of the content of the page, which was not even mentioned anywhere in talk. Unless, of course, I missed the discussion, in which case, show me please. Gscshoyru 13:14, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Twin paradox. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Independent Orange Order do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bmyspace\.com' (link(s): http://www.myspace.com/ilol160) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 12:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Victor Talking Machine Company. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 11:52, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

This is a shared facility used by most public library users in Northern Ireland. It seems unfair to block all these users for a month because of one anti-social user.

Decline reason:

Judging by all the warnings on this page, there has been more than one anti-social user editing from there, if you want to edit, i suggest you register an account - it only takes a couple of minutes— Jac16888 (talk) 17:07, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please read Wikipedia:Blocking policy, as it clarifies many of these points.
In particular the "loss of service" to a blocked user is minor (they can still read, which is surely the primary need in a library context) and also to a "committed" user as they can still log-in to a personal account. Secondly the purpose of a block is protective, not punitive. It's to stop more vandalism in the near future, not to punish those who caused it already. I don't usually support long blocks for libraries (I certainly do for individuals) because a few hours will probably see that particular user move away anyway and we should strive to minimise any punishment aspect, especially when it's likely to be affecting the wrong people. However there's some history here. Maybe Belfast Library needs to review its usage policies, its education of users about them before they become vandals, or simply to hear a few complaints to librarians about this block and to realise there's an issue they ought to be aware of and dealing with.
