Absence of Blacks Map

The county of Laramie County, Wyoming seems to have many more that 25 black people living in it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laramie_County,_Wyoming) more than 2% of a population of >80,000. Hi. I'd appreciate a more insightful reply, to this archived thread. You can reply here, or at my talkpage. I've put a lot of time into writing to you, and defending you, and would appreciate a reciprocal effort.

If you refuse to admit any fault, then I'm going to have to give up defending you, based purely on lack of potential-for-communication, which I do not want to do. Yes, other editors are being imperfect, and I'm trying to point that out to them also, but you're not helping things with hyperbole and reactionary habits. Hi again. Please, take a moment to read my comments, and the ongoing thread at ANI noticeboard. We need some kind of feedback. We explain (each in our own way - some more politely or relevantly than others) what kind of feedback we're hoping for. Some of us desperately hoping for.

I'd recommend/request/beg that you reply to just one or two of the comments in that thread (ideally mine) in order to avoid the situation descending into semantic arguments, and to give me/us a few rounds of dialogue, so that we can try one last time to resolve the personality clashes. I do think it is possible, but only if we can get fresh input from you, about ways you are willing to adapt or change certain habits (as explained there).

Wanting to upload a large number of photos of Vietnam

YellowMonkey had mentioned you add a lot of "photo required" tags and thought you might be interested. Basically I have a large number of photos I took while I was in Vietnam, and I'm looking for someone to sort/edit/upload these for me. The main reason for this is because the trip is actually something I don't want to really think of, for too long, and the photos can somewhat serve as a reminder. I've also posted on WT:VIET. It's a new school (1991) in a slum and working-class, heavily-minority suburb of Paris; their graduates face uphill struggles and mostly have not reached the pinnacles of fame yet. Sadly, I can't help much, because I speak no French. Getting mass reverting for a disruptive user?

Greetings, note that User:76.120.151.113 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/76.120.151.113) has been going around adding redundant categories to 100+ string instrument articles. Talk pages are not the place for asking questions about the language or request translations. Thank you for respecting this and not inserting further comments of that kind. If you want to have Hindi translations, contact one of the many Hindi-speaking users here, ask the question in one of the hundreds of translation forums on the Internet or some other option, but please refrain from posting such requests on the talk page of Hindi. It's a gray area. But I don't think discussing the need for hindi words and their translations on the hindi talk page is particularly out of order. It seems to me to be a good way to go about improving the encyclopedia. If there's a better place to post the requests perhaps you could help move them there and suggest it specifically. Re: derivation/etymology of ภรณ์ (phon)

The Royal Institute Dictionary[4] provides etymological origins of loanwords in its entries. In this case, the word is derived without changes from the Pali/Sanskrit root. The Thai script can usually be directly converted to the IAST representation or other Indic scripts, including Devanagari. I have no real knowledge of either, but substituting letter by letter, I'd agree with the script you provided. As for identifying the stems of compound terms, I'd say its a matter of experience and familiarity with the language; it's usually part of Thai language lessons taught in local schools. --Paul_012 ^(talk) 17:39, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello. I want to know your position about merging, since spanish vihuela and mexican vihuela are different instruments. Shape, material, courses (one is double coursed, the other is single coursed), type of music, all is different... The articles begins: "Vihuela is the name of two different guitar-like string instruments: the historical vihuela (proper) of 16th century Spain, usually with 12 paired strings, and the modern Mexican vihuela from 20th century Mexico with five strings and typically played in Mariachi groups."

Thanks, why not undo the blanking before making such a warning? The warning seems to have been made just after the other editor undid every single one of my edits, getting nearly 100 articles just the way s/he wanted them. The improvement of our articles is foremost in my mind with each edit I make, and the other editor is a long-term stalker who has devoted often more than 50 percent of his/her edits to undoing my own (on whatever subject) since March 2009. One can't simply police Wikipedia by intimidation, without doing so in an impartial manner, showing that the "enforcers" also have the good of our articles, content, and users foremost in their minds. I have reviewed the discussions linked and it looks like the consensus of the May discussion was more or less in favor of wikt links, but it was not made explicit. Given how much you and GraYoshi have already edit-warred, it would be better for you to start another discussion there asking outside editors to clarify the consensus, and let them determine whether or not to revert the articles. You are in no position to revert any more. No, that is not what I am asking. I am asking that such "enforcement" be made in an impartial manner, one that does not uphold months and months of stalking that are directed only toward undoing my edits, and showing that the "enforcer" really does have our articles, content, and users foremost in his/her mind. The request not to edit these articles any longer on my part was made, as I mentioned, just moments after the other editor had undone my edits in every single article, removing content supported by the community (save the single, habitually stalking/content-removing editor) in every instance. Please reread WP:EL because it seems that you don't see the use in EL cleanup, or article cleanup in general, both at Music of Australia and Oud. Romanization

Why are there two romanizations in Chinese? According to Unihan http://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetUnihanData.pl?codepoint=4EAC there is only one pinyin version of this for this character.

Standard romanization of Non-Han Chinese things, people, place,... neednot to be pinyin, e.g. Harbin, Urumq, Va people, Hohhot. But this non-pinyin names are hardly to be remenbered by common Chinese people.--刻意(Kèyì) 01:19, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Harrassment

Hi Badagnani. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind lending your opinion on something. The user Bdb484 from the oud article has been adding what I know are bogus speedy deletion templates to an article I created on a famous Yemeni oud player, Jamil Ghanim. He began doing this almost as soon as I created the article yesterday, and has not once stopped, nor has even bothered attempting to explain which exact passages from which source he believes are "plagiarized". The article's talk page is filled with my comments, not his. I notice that he recently added a threatening message to your talk page with regard to the oud article, and that you of course deleted this bogus message. Well, he's basically doing the same thing with me now, and with no point here either. Basically, I was wondering if you could have a look at the Jamil Ghanim article and give your assessment of it. If you see anything which you feel needs work, please feel free to do so. I will assist you myself in this in any way I can (sources, rewriting, etc.). Hi, since you're active on Chinese article and can read Korean, I really need help at two clothing article. It's a well known fact that Tang Dynasty's clothing have been influenced by Central Asians (due to Tang's expansion in the area) but those are clothings are like these [12]+ [13]+ [14]. User Cydevil38 use Korean sources to state that Banbi and Beizi are "adopt" from central asian, and both of these clothings aren't visible in Central Asian clothings. I believe he is using Foreign influences during Tang Dynasty to generalize that all of Tang's clothing are adopt from there. Temple/Pagoda

Hi, about this translation of "chùa", there was a discussion here (in which you also shared your opinion). Which is correct is not important here, the point is how "chùa" is translated in existed documents, I'm using A history of Vietnam: from Hong Bang to Tu Duc by Chapuis, he used the term "pagoda" to denote "chùa", in Việt Nam Borderless Histories, it was even noted that: "In many Vietnamese villages an architectural complex of temples (miếu and đền), pagodas, and the đình constituted the infrastructure of village culture and religious life" (page 34). And for your information, many pagodas, I mean chùa, are so poor that they cannot have their own tower (tháp), real tall towers (different than small tower which is monk's tomb) appear only in principal pagoda of a region or pagoda in big city. Krakebs sound

I have heard the Krakebs, and I thought it would be interesting to add a sound file with the sound. It would add more information about the krakebs and this could be done with other instruments, that are not so well known as well. We would need someone to record a small file and upload it to the mediawiki.
