So....she is no longer the champion. I am not sure what to change on the page. Should it be Divas Champion(2014) or Divas Champion;whatever status(2014-present)?

Bevis or Knight

When on the indepeendant circuit she refered to herself as Britani Knight, therefore, why does all sentences usually start with "Bevis......" surely it should just be "Knight....." GamingWithStatoke (talk) 14:02, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because Bevis is her real surname, whereas Knight is her ring surname. It is important to establish at the start of each subheader which ring name Bevis was using at that time. Starship.paint (talk) 13:33, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Paige (wrestler) page?

Is she better known as Paige now that she's had a lot of exposure on NXT? Or is she still more known as Britani Knight? MisterMorton (talk) 18:20, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say keep as Britani Knight for now, but may change my mind once she gets called up to the main roster. Duffs101 (talk) 16:38, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should move now that she has established herself as NXT's top diva. --- Hardstylehunt3r (talk)(contribs) 00:48, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I do think it's time now, given that she is the inaugural NXT Women's Champion, that is enough success and exposure on NXT, which does have a worldwide audience. Starship.paint (talk) 12:39, 18 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - Let's just wait until she's called up to the main roster. What if she gets released in the next month or two? --GeicoHen (talk) 03:30, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - I don't think it even matters even if she is released today, because Paige (her ring name in NXT and FCW) is already the WP:COMMONNAME, compared to Britani Knight, her old ring name (not her real name) which she used in the indies. Google News turns up exactly 1 result for "Britani Knight". Google News produced 37 results for 'Paige NXT' and 1 result for 'Paige FCW'. 'Paige wrestler' turns up 104 results, but not all of them are referring to this Paige. Google Search turns up 88,100 for "Britani Knight", 480,000 for 'Paige NXT', 87,600 for Paige FCW and 744,000 for 'Paige wrestler'. Remember that the NXT television show is broadcasted on television worldwide, and thus receives far more outreach than the live events of WAW, EVE and SHIMMER. FCW TV was also a television show but I do not think it had the international outreach. Furthermore, in terms of success, Paige has been and is consistently the most prominently featured female wrestler on NXT, and is also the inaugural and reigning NXT Women's Champion. Therefore the Paige ring name has easily outstripped the old Britani Knight ring name in terms of recognizability. Starship.paint (talk) 05:30, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment - Let me compare this situation to that of another wrestler down in NXT. Pac, aka Adrian Neville. Adrian Neville has won two NXT tag team championships; however, his page is still located at "Pac (wrestler)". I don't think "Paige" overshadows "Britani Knight" any more than "Adrian Neville" overshadows "Pac." — Preceding unsigned comment added by GeicoHen (talkcontribs) 17:58, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment We have to compare careers. PAC wrestled around the world and had sucess. Big promotions like DG, DGUSA, NJPW... but Brittany hasn't these success, isn't Bull Nanako, Amazing Kong or Sara Del rey. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 20:23, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment - just because PAC hasn't been moved doesn't mean Paige should not be moved, what if both should be moved? Anyway, in the case of PAC, as HHH pointed out, he's wrestled for two major promotions in Japan, namely Dragon Gate (2007-2012) and NJPW (2012). In Dragon Gate he's won three of their five titles, the doubles, triples (thrice) and the "cruiserweight", making him Dragon Gate's most (or second most, debatable vs Ricochet) successful gaijin. The only titles he did not win were the main singles and the comedy title. As for the American indy promotions, I daresay DGUSA and PWG are individually bigger than SHIMMER, and PAC's won titles in both of them while Knight did not. PAC's also from England, and he's definitely had success in European wrestling as well. Meanwhile, in NXT, it's clear that Paige has been the #1 female wrestler since October 2012 (over a year now) after Raquel Diaz left. She's beaten all the other NXT wrestlers (except Charlotte, who she hasn't faced yet) and even main roster wrestlers and former Divas Champions Alicia Fox (multiple times) and Natalya (championship defense). Neville has not had the same dominance over on the male side, and only recently (late November) become a top singles force, and yet he failed to win the NXT Championship in two attempts. Starship.paint (talk) 01:51, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support It's her common name, she has received far more exposure in WWE developmental than in the indies, Starship's stats make that case.LM2000 (talk) 20:11, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment - You're right, there's no denying that Paige's NXT title is by far the most significant title she has won: even if NXT was a high-profile indie promotion as opposed to a WWE developmental territory, that would still be the case. Neville's won plenty of big titles outside of NXT, and outside the context of NXT being WWE's developmental territory, they may actually be more significant. I have an even bigger case to compare this to than that of PAC, Brodie Lee. Not only has Luke Harper won a tag team championship like Adrian Neville, but more importantly, he is a part of WWE's main roster, and he is part of a stable getting huge exposure and feuding with main-event talent like Kane, CM Punk, and Daniel Bryan. --GeicoHen (talk) 02:19, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - She was featured on national television in the United Kingdom and in resulting news coverage ([1] under the name Britani Knight. She hasn't even been called up to WWE's roster under the "Paige" moniker. Too soon. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 17:36, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Needs more work

I'm a bit surprised that this article passed GA rather quickly, although not too surprised given that I saw how Cody Rhodes and Goldust passed. Honestly, I might be a little jealous, but that doesn't take away from my opinion that I think the article needs a bit more work. I'm going to point out that I don't think each GA reviewer for the Rhodes Brothers and Paige edit many professional wrestling articles, if so, were they aware of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Style guide and the reliable sources list? Also, the reviewer of the Rhodes Brothers clearly didn't know that the article was a bit too detailed with week-by-week info. It's a bit hypocritical for me to criticize this because then I could have reviewed the articles myself, but I guess all I can do now is to bring up the issues in the article. starship.paint "YES!" 02:17, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly you have greatly contributed in this article, that's why I'm thanking you for it. But there is no one to blame here, every article in Wikipedia has issues, pre- or post-GA reviews, Wikipedia is WP:IMPERFECT. The reviewer took the article voluntary, (s)he could just ignore it or decline the request, but then I want to know what are the issues so that it can further improve. FairyTailRocks 02:45, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody is in the wrong. The situation is what it is. starship.paint "YES!" 03:42, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • There shouldn't be much problems over the World Wrestling Entertainment section, given that I wrote most of it (haha)
  • Main problem I'm seeing is with the biographical sections before WWE. All depicting work from independent circuits which naturally gets less reliable source coverage. Since Shimmer was the largest women's promotion in the United States at least before Shine appeared in 2012, it deserves its own section. But why does Pro Wrestling: EVE have its own section? It doesn't even have an article on Wikipedia. Furthermore, the article even states that Paige only wrestled 11 times in EVE.
  • My recommendation; merge everything before Shimmer into "European promotions" or "European independent circuit". Heavily trim the EVE section, leaving only the whole tournament and the title loss.
  • I also see that many of the pre-WWE statements are sourced to CageMatch. Some of the older wrestling Wikipedians (NiciVampireHeart for example) are of the opinion that CageMatch is not reliable enough. For any claim that you source with CageMatch, I strongly urge you to back up with other sources. I know that pre-WWE coverage is not prevalent in Googling site:pwtorch.com OR site:slam.canoe.ca OR site:pwinsider.com OR site:f4wonline.com OR site:wrestleview.com , so...
  • My recommendation; also back up with other sources. Primary sources (the promotion's websites themselves) are best. Otherwise, consider WrestlingData or Online World of Wrestling.
  • Lastly, CageMatch is constantly being updated. Soon, this link will not show matches from June 2011 - March 2013, as matches occur and are pushed down, the link will instead direct to matches that happened more recently. Advise you to use a permanent link by setting the Year parameter. starship.paint "YES!" 02:17, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, no need to replace. Having both would be better. I'll handle that. starship.paint "YES!" 03:42, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Areas for improvement

  • FairyTailRocks, perhaps you could have been more stringent in checking what was already in the article. Don't take for granted that it's already accurate. It says that she debuted in 2006, but the WWE references only say that she debuted at the age of 13 in a match that featured 8 other wrestlers in one interview and 7 other wrestlers in the other interview. The article previously noted her debut match as a triple threat tag team match in April 2006, so I thought something was wrong there. Upon further research (which took some time) I found that the EVE source (a primary source) confirms that she debuted in 2005. The article was previously correct but you changed it to 2006, FairyTailRocks, did you not read the EVE source or did you not realize it was a reliable primary source (as the promotion's website)? There's more, but that's more of the CageMatch and WrestleData sources contradicting each other in match dates. starship.paint "YES!" 03:24, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also, the writing could be improved somewhat. Perhaps you could consider a Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests before future GA nominations. The version of the article which passed GA had the following errors which I have since weeded out. when one of wrestlers did not show up ... Knight then allied Melodi in creation of a tag team ... defeated her mother, Sweet Saraya, in a best of three matches ... and the RQW Women's Title by winning over Jetta ... in which she achieved victorious by defeating. An older version of the article didn't seem to have these errors. starship.paint "YES!" 03:48, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • The European section could still be expanded for the years 2010 and 2011. She's won the GSW Ladies Title and the SCW Ladies Title but it's not in the career section, the reviewer should have questioned this. Also, they lost the PWF Ladies Tag and the loss and second win of the HEW title. starship.paint "YES!" 08:40, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life

Shouldn't it be acknowledged that she is the first openly gay WWE Diva? She may not have specifically said the words, but she does post a lot of pictures of herself holding and kissing her girlfriend. It is a bit of WWE/LGBT history so I feel that it is important. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.196.145.78 (talk) 08:31, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The information you want add is maybe libellous to a living person if it is poorly sourced or no source at all. Good thing you first bring up here in the talk page before publishing it. After a quick search, I only found this photos which is a bit judgmental with little information at all. I suggest find a reliable source in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Style guide#Sources so that we can verify it. I may do the work but I am very busy in real life. FairyTailRocks 12:43, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Definitely not at the moment pending further evidence. Either Paige herself says she's gay or bisexual, or a reliable source reports it as so as listed in the link above. Photos don't cut it, BLPs have high standards to adhere to. starship.paint "YES!" 04:26, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Speculating on something like this is a big BLP vio. What you want added into her article would require significant coverage from reliable sources.LM2000 (talk) 04:32, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
