Gosei Sentai Dairanger (五星戦隊ダイレンジャー, Gosei Sentai Dairenjā), Five Star Squadron Dairanger in English,[1] is a Japanese tokusatsu television series. It was the seventeenth programme in the long-running Super Sentai franchise of tokusatsu programmes produced by Toei, following Kyouryuu Sentai ZyuRanger. It was originally broadcast from February 11, 1993 to February 19, 1994. Certain action footage from the series was used in the second season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, however, this mostly consisted of the scenes featuring the Dairanger mecha, which were used as Zords in Power Rangers; the hand-to-hand fight scenes were limited to Zyuranger footage and material filmed for specifically for the American show.

Plot

Template:Spoiler 6050 years ago, the Daos civilization flourished in China. The Gorma Tribe tried to take it over. Thus began the war between the Gorma and the Dai Tribe. The battle continued for decades, led by the Gorma Triumvirate. The Legendary Chi Beasts appeared to oppose the Gorma, whose magical powers had increased to the point where they could turn themselves into monsters. Five Dai warriors' chi powers had increased to the point where they could control the Legendary Chi Beasts. The war ends with the disappearance of both the Dai and Gorma tribes. In 1993, the Gorma Tribe, one of its two branches, revived to take over the world. To counter them, Master Jiaxu assembled a team of five youths with high levels of chi. They became the Dairangers of present time.

Colors: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Pink, White.

  • Ryou of the Heavenly Fire Star ("天火星" 亮 "Tenkasei" Ryō) / RyuuRanger (Ryurenjaa): Son of Zhang Liao and a human woman. Was not aware of this until recently. Has a younger sister, Youko. He wanted to be the best gyoza cook in Japan and worked in Yokohama Chinatown in Yokohama. He became a Dairanger after his encounter with and capture by Baron String, saved by his Legendary Chi Beast, Ryuuseiou and taken to Master Jiaxu. Only he and Lin are of Dai heritage.
    • Dairenrod: Halberd
    • Weapon: Red Dragon Double Dragon Swords
  • Daigo of the Heavenly Illusion Star ("天幻星" 大五 "Tengensei" Daigo) / LionRanger (Shishirenjaa): A most remarkable, gentle member of the team. He worked at a pet shop and had feelings for Kujaku. His Legendary Chi Beast is Star Lion.
    • Dairenrod: Fork
    • Weapon: Lion Staff
  • Shouji of the Heavenly Weight Star ("天重星" 将児 "Tenjūsei" Shōji) / PegasusRanger (Tenmarenjaa): Dreamed of becoming a world boxing champion. He had a strong sense of fair play, and also competitiveness which he could only really apply with Kazu. Strong, balanced, playful and loving. Boss Kamikaze, of the 3 Gorma Idiots, sees him as his greatest rival. His Legendary Chi Beast is Star Pegasus.
    • Dairenrod: Axe
    • Weapon: Pegasus Nunchakus
  • Kazu of the Heavenly Time Star ("天時星"知 "Tenjisei" Kazu, or カズ Kazu) / KirinRanger (Kirinrenjaa): A stylish beautician who escaped his home at age 15 and came to Tokyo. He was a great dancer, as he had mastered the Drunken-style of Kung-Fu. He had a tendency to go rushing into battle without thinking. His Legendary Chi Beast is Star Kirin.
    • Dairenrod: Conical Spear
    • Weapon: Kirin 9-Section Staff
  • Lin of the Heavenly Wind Star ("天風星"リン "Tenpūsei" Rin) / PhoenixRanger (Hōōrenja): Master Jiaxu's niece. Came to Japan to be a Dairanger (her cover is that she came as an exchange student from China). Hates living with Kou, as he tends to look up her skirt and touch her breasts. Once fell in love with Takamura Shouichirou, a.k.a. Media Magician of the Gorma. Her Legendary Chi Beast is Star Phoenix. Only She and Ryou are of Dai heritage.
    • Dairenrod: Multi-Blade Spear
    • Weapon: Pheonix Spear
  • Kou of the Howling New Star ("吼新星"コウ "Kōshinsei" Kō) / KibaRanger (Kibarenjaa): The 9-year old who pulled out Yufang's Byakkoshinken. A somewhat perverted boy, he often grabs Lin's breasts and looks up her skirt at times, and wishes to marry her. New to fighting, he is not particularly strong. The FangChanger allow him to assume an adult-form as KibaRanger. He originally kept his identity as KibaRanger a secret, and the Byakkoshinken often spoke instead of Kou (who, of course, still sounded like a child in his Ranger form), but after the other Dairangers learned of his identity he began to speak on his own and joined the team. Kou eventually learns he and Akomaru are twin brothers and are the sons of Shadam and a woman from the Dai Tribe. Because of this, Shadam tried to recruit Kou to the Gorma when the boy was old enough to be converted (according to Christian calendars, Kou and Akomaru's birthday falls on Christmas Eve), but his mother's baptism purified Kou of his Gorma linage. His Legendary Chi Beast is Won Tiger.
    • Weapon: Byakkoshinken. An enchanted talking saber Yufang placed within a stone until the one chosen to wield it arrives. That day occurred when Kou removed the weapon from its resting place. The sword offered to help Kou as KibaRanger, voice-overing for him upon his debut as KibaRanger and co-piloting Won Tiger. He could also control Kou's body while fighting as KibaRanger.

Help

  • Kujaku: A follower of the Mahamayuri Vidyaraja, the Peacock Buddha. She became a follower to restore Gara by finding the Peacock's Tears, an ancient artifact said to heal whoever drinks from it. But Gara was unaware at the time as she joined the Gorma and through deception, trapped Kujaku in Mirror Make-Up Artist. Kujaku swore revenge since then. And for six-thousand years she was imprisoned within that mirror, until she was freed by Daigo. But she had forgotten compassion and love during her long imprisonment, and the sight of Gara was enough to set her homing in with nothing in her mind but murder. It took a combination of Daigo's perseverance and a little girl's compassion and kindness to give her a change of heart. But by that time she had realized something was wrong. She was ill. When within her finally woke those deadened feelings of compassion, she stopped her pursuit of Gara and decided to return to her pursuit of the Peacock's Tears. And when she learned that the reason Gara had become a Gorma, Kujaku was overcome with the compassion and love that had led her to begin her search in the first place. But all the pollutants and things in the world were killing Kujaku. Even if she took her one drink from the Peacock's Tears, she would only sicken again and die. So instead she used the artifact for Gara to restore her beauty. And when Kujaku died, she went to Heaven with Gara at her side.
  • GrandMaster Yufang: Rin's great grand-uncle, who tends to be bizarre at times and often cracks his neck. Gave the Dairangers their Dairinken Blades and constructed the Kiryouku Bazooka for them. His fiance, Shoukyou, brought him the Byakkoshinken which he placed within a stone until the owner (Kou) could remove it.

Legendary Chi Beasts (気伝獣 Kidenjū)

These mecha may look like robots, but they're really giant magical creatures.

  • Heavy Armor Chi Palace (重甲気殿 Jūkō Kiden): The most powerful Dairanger weapon of all, it destroys Gorma monsters by having Ryuuseiou spin his staff like a propellor, raising the Heavy Armor Chi Palace into the air, and stopping, bringing it down on top of them.
    • Dairenoh (大連王 Dairen'ō): Combination of Ryuuseiou and the Heavenly Chi Palace. It is armed with the Dai Javelin, and the Great King Sword (大王剣 Daiōken), with which it performs its finisher, the Gailing Wind Rage Waves (疾風怒濤 Shippū Dotō; alt. translation: Sturm und Drang) attack. Another attack is the "Chi Kung Shot".
      • Legendary Chi Beast Ryuuseiou (龍星王 Kidenjū Ryūseiō): Can transform into Legendary Chi Warrior Ryuuseiou (気伝武人 Kidenbujin Ryūseiō) and combine with the Heavenly Chi Palace to form Dairenoh. He can breath streams of fire from his mouth. From there, it can use the Flying Dragon Staff (飛龍棍 Hiryū Kon) to perform the Great Windmill Slice (大風車斬り Dai Fūsha Kiri) attack. Helped out in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai.
      • Heavenly Chi Palace (天空気殿 Tenkū Kiden): Combination of four of the Legendary Chi Beasts, Ryuuseiou in Warrior mode can ride on it, and is capable of high-speed flight. Aside from riding on it, Ryuuseiou can fly off it through the air and perform the Heavenly Great Windmill (天空大風車 Tenkū Dai Fūsha) attack.
        • Legendary Chi Beast Star Lion (星獅子 Kidenjū Seishishi): Star Lion can create mists to conceal itself and can create illusions.
        • Legendary Chi Beast Star Pegasus (星天馬 Kidenjū Seitenma): Star Pegasus can throw boulders at its enemies.
        • Legendary Chi Beast Star Kirin (星麒麟 Kidenjū Seikirin): Star Kirin can shoot fireballs out of its mouth, and electrical blasts.
        • Legendary Chi Beast Star Phoenix (星鳳凰 Kidenjū Seihōō): Star Phoenix can fire laser blasts and generate whirlwinds.
    • Legendary Chi Beast WonTiger (Kidenjū Wontaigā): Can transform to Legendary Chi Warrior Won Tiger (Kidenbujin Wontaigā). It is armed with 7 Legendary Chi Treasue Pearls in its cockpit which correlate to both the seven days of the Japanese week, as well as to the Japanese elements; Moon (equivalent for Monday), Fire (Tuesday), Water (Wednesday), Wood (Thursday), Metal (Friday), Earth (Saturday), and Sun (Sunday). Won Tiger can combine with the Heavenly Chi Palace to form Kibadaioh. It is also armed with the Golden Sword (黄金剣 Ōgōken) to fight off Gorma monsters.
      • Kibadaioh (牙大王 Kibadaiō): Combination of Won Tiger and the Heavenly Chi Palace. Some of its attacks include "Great Chi Power Punch" (Daikiryoku Panchi) and the Smash to Atoms (木端微塵 Koppamijin) attack, which is performed by shooting Star Phoenix at the enemy like a missile.
    • Kameo/Super Legendary Chi Beast Daimugen (亀夫/大無限 (ダイムゲン) Kameo/Chou Kidenjū Daimugen): A giant-tortoise who turn on the human identity of Kameo, a pudgy and strange-looking man who loved turtles, to escape the fighting. He spoke in a Nagoya accent and with no memory of his previous life, made a living out of selling illustrations he made, and dreamed of writing children's books. And then one day he found the crystal that was the key to restoring him to his true form. He finally remembers his true self and resumed his true form when his new friend Kazu was in danger. Daimugen is able to house Ryuuseiou to allow it to replenish it's Kiryouku. Using the crystal, Kameo could change into Daimugen at will, but at other times the crystal would cause him to turn into a live turtle! Could change from Turtle form to warrior form Super Legendary Chi Warrior Daimugen (Chou Kiden Bujin Daimugen). Daimugen could combine with the Legendary Chi Beasts to form the Heavy Armor Chi Palace.
  • Daijinryuu (大神龍 Daijinryū): An entity who preserves the natural balance of the world. He has a flying mode called Shouryu, and a battle mode called Ryuzin. He appears whenever battles between the Dairangers and the Gorma have gone too far. Daijinryuu has no contempt for either side, but has no tolerance for whoever threaten to disrupt the natural order of things. But he soon discovered that the Gorma was the cause of all the trouble and destroyed their palace. His feet are as big as Daimugen's shell. Only times he has appeared is when the Dairangers dealt with Great Famous Pachinko Player, Ikazuki...

The Gorma Tribe

  • Gorma Emperor XV (20-48): The 15th Emperor of Gorma who resurfaced to reopen the Gorma Palace with intent to restore his crumbling empire to its former glory,. He is an extremely powerful entity, though a bit insane. The insanity was inherent aspect of all Gorma's past 14 emperors, though only few actually know the truth. The Emperor was more of a sadistic, heartless creature with a playful outlook on things. However, the Emperor gt serios when saw Shadam's intend to overthrow him. He was hoping for Shadam to fall to their enemies for him to rule the world forever. His own conceit has always become his weaknesses as at times, it became the cause of his own failure as tries to become more powerful the Shdam. However, Shadam managed to steal the Emperor's Earth Shaking Jewel and used it against him.

It would later be revealed that the Emperor was nothing more than a mere clay puppet of the real Gorma Emperor created by Shadam.

  • The Gorma Triumvirate: The three who spear head the attack. While they resemble humans in leather clothing, their skin turns metallic when in fighting-form.
    • Lt. Colonel Shadam: The leader of the Gorma Triumvirate, he was the one who spear-headed the Gorma attack against the Dai Tribe in China. Shadam's life was one of frustrated dreams. Power was his only comfort. Rising higher in rank his only goal. He wanted to become the 16th Gorma Emperor, deposing of the competition in anyway possible. He eventually realized his dream and the power of the Gorma Emperor once he murder the previous one. as Gorma Emperor XVI, he used the Great Earthshaking Jewel to takeover the world, but he had the Dairangers to deal with. But when Daijinryuu appears, the whole war was settled in a duel between Shadam and Ryou. Shadam lost and died, reverting to a clay statue.
    • Lt. Colonel Gara (1-49): 6,000 year member of the Dai Tribe. She joined the Gorma at 10 when she protected her friend Kujaku at the cost of her face. Mortified, she came to believe Kujaku refused to play with her. They soon meet again in battle, though Gara tricked her and trapped her within Mirror-Makeup Artist. Gains an upgrade called Wraith Gara for a short time. Gara soon learned she was long dead and was a puppet created by Shadam as he remembered her. She eventally makes her peace with Kujaku before she died.
    • Major Zydos (1-48): The Strongman, brutal and prone to deep thinking. He was a key player amongst the Gorma because of his power and he could create extremely dangerous new Gorma like Jin. He believed utterly in Shadam as his leader, but was also prone to doing his own things. He has trouble controlling the 3 Baka Gorma as they tend to botch the plans due to their competitive nature. Nearly killed by Heavy Armor Chi Palace, but survived. When he finally died, it turned out he was a clay figure created by Shadam as he remembered him.
  • Akomaru (17-22, 28, 31-45): A Gorma child who is the son of Shadam, though the two dispise each other fiercely. In fact, Akomaru is ranked higher than his father. He wants to replace his father as the Gorma military leader. He first appears to take the power of the KibaRanger, knowing Kou has it and aware of their relation and wanted Kou to fight by his side as brothers. Unfortunately, Akomaru saw that Kou seemed unable to hate and it annoyed him. Akomaru was killed when he was crushed by a boulder, with Kou at his side. Later the Gorma Emperor brought Akomaru back from Hell prior to his tenth birthday, when he and Kou came into their adult power as Gorma. Akomaru was made to believe that his mother abandoned him to a father who does not care about him. After his bodyguard Ikazuki died, Akomaru learned the truth that mother abandoned him because of a tatoo that one twin must be killed so the other have the power of both. So their mother dediced to save them, with Akomaru to live as a Gorma and Kou as a normal human. But Akomaru was soon mortally injured by Shadam, but died in the embrace of his dying mother with the knowledge that he was loved.
  • Jin Matoba / Demon Boxer Jin (26-39): A master of Kempo and all manner of martial arts, a gentleman assassin. His favorite targets were martial arts masters, as his own master cut off his right arm. Jin got a prosthesis, perfected his arts, went on a campaign to slaughter in fair challenge other masters who considered themselves fit to destroy promising students and fully intended, when he was ready, to return and kill his first teacher. But the man foiled that plan by dying before Jin got around to it. But that all changed the day he meet Ryou and was defeated by him. Kin soon later sold his soul to Zydos become stronger than Ryou. But Jin perfected to learn his new powers on his own, after which he went hunting for Ryou. His power had many facets, and one of them was the deadly "Dance of the Spider" posioning technique. But Zydos captured the rouge and infused with more Gorma power, turning him into Garouki, the Hungry-Wolf Demon. Unlike the normally born Gorma, Jin's transformation is against his will and thus he is unable to control himself as Garouki. As Garouki, Jin is like a totally obedient dog for Zydos with a desire to kill and eat his victims. Jin was soon free of his "Gorma-incarnation" when Garouki was attacked with and destroyed by the Kiryouku Bazooka. After one final bout with Ryou, Jin went on the run. He was soon killed by Zydos and an army of Cotpotros.
  • Doushi Kaku / Master Jiaxu: Originally a member of Gorma, he formed the Dairangers to oppose Gorma in the present day. He used the romanized version of his real name, Kaku, as an alias. But when Daijinryuu appeared, he returned to Gorma, hoping he could stop the fight as the 16th Gorma Emperor. But he lost against Shadam and died.
  • Cotpotros: Gorma grunts in black tuxedo tights with lipped but otherwise blank black and white faces. They are far more advanced than the Golems in Zyurangers as viewed by some fans.

Gorma Minions

These are servants of the Gorma Tribe, able to transform themselves into monstrous forms.

  • Baron String (1-2, Movie, 50): The first Gorma, took on the form of a boy who loved singing while playing with his yo-yo. He ingested people through the mouths at the end of his tentacles. Killed by Ryuuseiou. He was brought back in the movie by Duke of Trumps to battle the Dairangers and was absorbed by Duke of Trumps to become the Great King Ojaru. In the epilougue of the series finale (50 years after the final battle), a new generation of Gorma emerged, including a new verison of Baron String. The new Baron Sting was killed by Dairenoh.
  • Purse Priest (2, Movie): A Gorma in the service of Zydos. He liked basketball and takes on the form of a tall athlete. He serviced as executioner for Gorma sacrifices. His attacks were characterised by sending flying at his target seemingly hundreds of goards carved with smiling, human faces. Once these things secured someone's head, basically the body was under total control. Killed by the Dairangers before he had a chance to grow giant. He was brought back by Duke of Trumps in the movie to battle the Dairangers and then was absorbed by Duke of Trumps to become the Great King Ojaru.
  • Key Jester (3-4, Movie): An oddball of a Gorma, but hard to catch. He spent most of his time rolling about on rollerblades, choosing children and stealing their souls to give life to his bloodthirsty dolls. Killed by the Dairangers. He was brought back by Duke of Trumps to fight the Dairangers and then absorbed by him to become Great King Ojaru.
  • Rouge Song Princess (5-6, Movie): A Gorma in the service of Gara, Rouge Song Princess is extremely vain. When her face was scarred from a fight with Rin, she vowed vengeance. A swipe of her lipstick across a woman's lips turned the victim into a controlled slave, singing a dangerous soprano tone that tended to blow out our heroes' eardrums. Killed by Ryuuseiou and the Heavenly Chi Palace. She was brought back in the Dairanger movies by Duke of Trumps to battle the Dairangers and then was absorbed by him to become Great King Ojaru.
  • IronMask Zhang Liao (7-8): Also known as Chou Ryou. The previous RyuuRanger who joined the Gorma. He appeared with his master, Archbishop Saw, to the fight the Dairangers. Only that Zhang would eventally see the error of his ways and turn on his master. Receiving a fatal blow for his troubles, he collapsed and was dying. Ryou held him close, and then they appeared: the four spirits of the other original Dairangers. They had come for him, to tell him they forgave him. He passed on the ancient knowledge of Dairenoh to the new Dairangers before he died.
  • Archbishop Saw (7-8): An insane Gorma of higher rank than the Gorma Triumvirate. He was the one who recruited Zhang Liao. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • Duke of Trumps (Movie): He turned children into playing pieces in a card game, and was able to use special trumps of Baron String, Purse Priest, Key Jester, and Rouge Song Princess to bring them back and fight the Dairangers. He then absorbed them to become Great King Ojaru, only to be killed by Dairenoh.
  • Mirror Make-Up Artist (9): A Gorma in the service of Gara. He perfers women who admire themselves in his Mirror-form. He had Kujaku trapped within him for six-thousand years. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • Cherry Blossom Viscount (10): A Gorma in the service of Gara, whose blossoms are violent-inducing. He seemed to enjoy the catfight between his mistress and Kujaku. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • Father Magnet (11): A Gorma who poses as a man of the clothe, and his power was to set up a magnetic field by whomever he touched. The Dairangers were able to turn his own power against him. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • Tofu Hermit (12): A semi-harmless Gorma. Except, of course, that he sends out Cotpotros out as tofu vendors who sell tofu laced with strong sake (japanes rice wine)intoxicating many civillians. He, like Kazu, is a master of drunken fist fighting technique. He led revellers through the streets and ruined businessmen. He and Kazu engaged in a drinking contest, which he would have won but for Kazu's friends making sure the drink was just water. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • Kabuki Novice (13-14): A Gorma so obsessed with Kabuki, he had incorporated it into his character. He could possess people to gain full-control over any special talents they had, which presented the Dairanger with difficulty when they had to face him without killing the person he possessed. He was pursued by Yufan for possessing his's fiance, Shoukyou, to lend his Kabuki talent greater authenticity when playing feminine roles. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • Three Idiots (Baka Gorma) (15/Soccer, 24/Baseball, 28/Deva Kings Illusion, 40/Motorcycle Race): Gorma in the service of Zydos, though their foolishness deemed them at lowers ranks; they all have a sense of competiton and honor. Furthermore, to make them less repectable, none of them can assume human form like their fellow Gorma. They were beaten by Ryuuseiou the first time and Kibadaioh the second time. Though they survived both fights, the trio ended up being bandaged up. They would finally settle things with the Dairangers in a bike race. Over the course of the series, they would gain respect for the Dairangers (and vice versa); specifically for Shouji, who was seen as the most competitive of the rangers. After all that happened to them, they managed to survive the entire series after being blown up various times. Overall, they might as well be classified as ally kaijin because deep down they didn't want to kill the Dairanger, just defeat them.
    • Company President Gravestone: The righthand man of the group.
    • Teacher Telephone: Kamikaze's "girl".
    • Boss Kamikaze: The leader of the group who rides a motorcycle.
  • Defense Teacher Haniwa Ventriloquist (16): One of the hardest Gorma to kill, as the "ones" the Dairangers killed were actually puppets controlled by the real Haniwa Ventriloquist, who was finally killed by Dairenoh.
  • Akomaru's Ladies (17-22): Three sisters who served as Akomaru's bodyguards/nannies. All were killed.
    • Lady Earring (17-18, 21-22): Killed by KibaRanger.
    • Lady Necklace (17-20, 21-22): Killed by the Dairenoh.
    • Lady Ring (17-22): After her two sisters died, Lady Ring vowed to avenge them. Using their possessions, Lady Ring could create "phantom" versions of her sisters to fight with her. Killed by Kibadaioh.
  • Heatwave Hood (23): A Gorma who devoured Kujaku and Daigo, using them as hostages. Trapped and being baked alive within him, instead of giving up, Daigo decided to literally punch his way out. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • Copy Empress (25): A Gorma who posed as publicist, successfully taking a photo of each Dairanger. She then brought the copies to life, using them to fight the originals so they can be real. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • Pot Taoist (26-27): The first of the stronger Gorma. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • The Gorma Four Deva Kings (28-31): They are the most favored of the Gorma Emperor XV's minions, being masters of displacement. Their teamwork skills were their power, as they could merge into one deadly four-headed entity. They survived the attack of Kibadaioh twice, but were soon killed by Heavy Armor Chi Palce.
    • Touhouten
    • Hoppouten
    • Saihouten
    • Nanpouten
  • Fast-Talking Vagabond (29-30): A champion talker, he uses bombs that detonate if you failed to say a tongue-twister. He was gathering children to slave for the Gorma, to open a crack in the gates of hell, so that the Gorma Triumvirate could drink in that power. It was during that that he exposed Kou as the KibaRanger. Killed by the Kiryouku Bazooka.
  • Bird Cage Vagabond (32): A Gorma with a golden-left leg that made him nearly invincible. Used random Spanish words in his sentences and drank often in his "human" form. It was stolen by Jianx 6000 years ago, making Birdcage useless to the Gorma. He captured Shouji and a little girl to bargain the return of his leg. But Zydos managed to get the leg for Birdcage, who got killed in the end by Dairenoh anyway.
  • Media Magician (33): A Gorma in the service of Gara, he posed as a photographer named Takamura. He was supposed to steal Lin's soul while she was vainly letting him take millions of photographs of her. But when he found out she did so really because she loved him, he went on a pinwheel of shock, for he fell in love with her. He saved her from himself, and then was mortally injured protecting her from Gara. He was born a Gorma, he said. And dying said to Lin he wished to be reborn as a human, so he could see her smiling face once again. Killed by Dairenoh.
  • General Cactus (34): A Gorma in the service of Gara, though him shows he no respect. He has a thing for captured little girls and paralyzes them so he could play with them like dolls. Some years ago he had given a cactus a soul, and somehow it had ended up in Daigo's care. The spirit called herself Michiru, and she acted to save Daigo's life from her creator. Killed by Kibadaioh.
  • Sergeant Cannon (35): A Gorma in the service of Zydos, who claimed that his cannonballs could instantly kill whomever they struck. Sergant Cannon was not terribly bright with a shoot-first-ask-questions-later persona. But he served to capture Jin. Killed by Kibadaioh.
  • Count Kaleidoscope (36): A Gorma in the service of Gara, who sent him to prevent Kujaku from finding the Peacock's Tears. He could create solid illusions to set as traps, at one point making her think she had found the tears, but Daigo was in time to keep her from being killed by the poison within. He fired an intensified light-beam. But he was killed by Dairenoh.
  • Great Famous Pachinko Player (37-38): A Gorma who was obsessed with Pachinko. He was also part of Shaddam's plan to turn Kou into a Gorma. Killed by Daijinryuu by being stepped on.
  • Ikazuki (42-45): Akomaru's insectoid bodyguard, this monster fought the KibaRanger-less Dairangers.
