out-dated info might be deleted

Info about soho china is mostly from several years ago. Just got some recent one and update

"Chinese social structure" needs editing

Hi. The article Chinese social structure needs editing and assessing. Thanks! Thinker78 (talk) 04:10, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I went in and made a few edits - but what precisely are you asking for? Simonm223 (talk) 18:18, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic population counties of China

Hi! Could someone give me Ethnic population of counties of China? --Kaiyr (talk) 08:00, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

Hi. It has been suggested that Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese) be merged into Wikipedia:Manual of Style/China and Chinese-related articles. Feedback is welcomed here. Szqecs (talk) 13:08, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of simplified names

@N. Wang: This editor has been removing simplified names from a number of articles, for example: [1][2][3]. I know at least one of the removals was incorrect, and I'm told at least one other was also incorrect. I don't know enough Chinese to judge these. Can someone take a look? Kendall-K1 (talk) 14:50, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted all of the removals that I could find. CaradhrasAiguo (leave language) 15:12, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Kendall-K1: Hello Kendall-K1 and any other users who might be involved. I just wanted to make a brief reply back in regards to my most recent edits. I may have missed it, but I was under the impression that it'd be more accurate to have (only) traditional Chinese over simplified Chinese, especially for those articles related to aspects specific to Hong Kong/Cantonese matters, which are specifically primarily in traditional Chinese in terms of cultural, historical, and social points. I am a Chinese speaker (for both Cantonese and Mandarin), hence my judgment in the matter. Sorry for any inconvenience in advance. N. Wang (talk)
The province of Guangdong (ie. the "Canton" in "Cantonese") uses Cantonese and Simplified Chinese, so do parts of the Chinese diaspora in Southeast Asia. Dim sum is also not a specifically Hong Kong thing but one that originated in Guangzhou, which now uses Simplified Chinese. In any case, we currently include both traditional and simplified Chinese even for HK/MA/TW matters in the {{Chinese}} infobox. _dk (talk) 17:17, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Underbar: Hello Underbar. It seems like you may be a more "senior user" regarding currently used guidelines. Thanks for your reply and information. It is appreciated. N. Wang (talk)

@N. Wang, CaradhrasAiguo, and Underbar dk: Please comment at Talk:TP-Link#Native name as to whether the "native name" of TP-Link should include a traditional Chinese variant. Kendall-K1 (talk) 17:09, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just want to give a small bit of feedback that there are multiple articles that do include Traditional Chinese with Simplified Chinese AND that it was already mentioned by @Underbar dk: to have both. N. Wang (talk)
I specifically mentioned the template {{Chinese}} can have both, but the article in question currently does not include the template. My comment was merely about the usage of that template, and I do not agree with adding traditional Chinese in a "native_name" field in other templates when the article's subject used only simplified Chinese in its native country. _dk (talk) 18:28, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Well, thank you for your reply back. Clearly, I don't/didn't understand aspects regarding "templates" and their text content since I'd thought that there is/was a certain amount of interchangeability/flexibility for text content involving (Chinese language) names, terms, etc., and so that there shouldn't have been much in issues. N. Wang (talk)

MfD nominations of Fauzty's sandboxes

User:Fauzty/sandbox, User:Fauzty/sandbox/02, and User:Fauzty/sandbox/03, i.e. pages written in Chinese, have been nominated for deletion. Input on the matter at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Fauzty/sandbox would be welcomed and appreciated. Thank you. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 07:21, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just created this template:

What's a good way to format the navbox? I decided its a more historiographically accurate to separate them out into emperor eras as opposed to decades. But beyond that it seems like ten years doesn't fill the width of the navbox very well. Also I'd like some help eventually populating every year at some point... (and yes all 2000 of them in Chinese history).--Prisencolin (talk) 03:00, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Links to DAB pages

I have collected a bunch of China-related articles which contain bad links to WP:DAB pages, ranging from ancient history to the present day, for which expert attention is needed. (The list is not exhaustive: I find new bad links of this sort, not necessarily China-related, every single day.) To find those links, search for 'disam' in main text or for '{{d' in edit mode. (NB - some articles contain more than one bad link.) If you manage to solve any of these puzzles, remove the {{dn}} tag and post {{done}} here.

In some cases, the solution may be a good redlink qualifier. Not every puzzle may be soluble. But, every little helps. Thanks in advance. Narky Blert (talk) 22:12, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've started an RFC about the infobox contents at Communist Party of China please feel free to comment. Simonm223 (talk) 12:04, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
