Dirt

You're hardly on these days, when do vacations begin? Anyway, thanks for the support. Are you still up for Dirt? I'm in the mood for some 1970s disco-pop and couple of discogs right now, so I can begin work on Dirt in earnest in about two weeks. indopug (talk) 19:08, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! I see you're starting on Dirt; I rearranged the sections a little bit, cause I think it'll it'll be better this way. Themes and lyrics might warrant their own section because this album's "dark, drug-inspired" lyrics have attracted an insane amount of coverage. Also, Cantrell has said that the second half of the record ("Junkhead" to "Would?") is like a concept album. indopug (talk) 18:50, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:AICHeroin.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:AICHeroin.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. *You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:05, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

May 2008

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Shadows Fall. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 22:31, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

It is apparent that you did not understand what was going on at the Shadows Fall page. I asked you multiple times to discuss the issue on the talk page and I even went to the rouble to post there myself about the issue and yet you continually reverted me without discussing the issue. Please do not edit war any more, thank you. Wikipedia has policies about discussing things instead of warring about them. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 22:31, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Ryan Dennee

A tag has been placed on Ryan Dennee requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Plrk (talk) 22:38, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:DownNola.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:34, 11 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Undeath (talk) 00:34, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations on your recent WP:FL. In case you do not know, we are running an experiment to choose the List of the Month and Lists of the Day for June. Feel free to nominate your list at User:TonyTheTiger/List of the Day/Nominees/200807 for consideration next month to be the July LOTM or a LOTD. If you would like to support this experiment the most important thing you can do is come by and vote at User:TonyTheTiger/List of the Day/voting/200806. Soulfly new album

Hey, I have a question for you. When Soulfly's new album comes out, what will happen to Cavalera Conspiracy? If you know then please tell me! Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 17:11, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the help. If you haven't bought or downloaded the album yet, I highly reccomend that you do. It's a great listen! Everything is there - the anger, the riffs, the lyrics, but most importantly the heart.

Oh yeah, and is it true that Down are going to re-record NOLA with Rex Brown on bass? Just what would they accomplish by doing that? I think the songs are fine the way they are! Do you think they might be trying to present their old stuff to the newer fans who might not have known that music otherwise? Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 11:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

warning vandals

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Pantera: You may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Enigma message 05:43, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Bodom - Thrash indeed

Thank you, someone who fucking agrees with me! Blooddrunk is a thrash album w/ death metal vocals and keyboards, above all else. You saw Bodom, right? I've seen them twice - the first time was the 2006 Unholy Alliance Tour, and the second time was the 3rd Gigantour. They were so amazing when I first saw them (I proceeded to buy FTR, HCDR and AYDY), but at Gigantour I think they've gotten so much better. Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 16:58, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

I've been bitched at a couple of times for putting thrash as one of Bodom's genres. I was wondering perhaps if you could help find a source that's good enough for these Wikiholics. Thrash should be recognized as part of their distinctive sound just as much as melodic death/power/neoclassical metal are! Thanks for the reply, too. Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 18:41, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Dude I now have all of Bodom's studio albums! And it only took 2 years to do it! Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 20:30, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:Deletions

Hi, nice to hear from you again. I've deleted the pages- they weren't quite G7 (author request) and weren't quite A7 (no assertion of notability for a real person/group/website), but combined, I don't think there's any issue. What have you been up to recently? Have any more articles under your belt? J Milburn (talk) 19:55, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

In terms of writing new articles, I've done very little, which is a shame. In terms of metal articles, I've become obsessive about categorisation, which takes up a lot of time, but is actually surprisingly satisfying. Do let me know if I can be of help with anything, I don't want to feel I'm out of the loop! J Milburn (talk) 20:36, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Dirt (album)

I own a book by Martin Popoff called "The Top 500 Heavy Metal Songs Of All Time", and the song "Would?" comes in at 221. In it, Popoff calls Dirt "a record full of riff-mad metal highs and mucous-clogged lows". Should you work on the article any time, I'd be more than happy to add this quote and fully source it in the "Critical reception" section. LuciferMorgan (talk) 15:09, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey dude, long time! I actually just had back surgery on 5/21, a Microdiscsectomy, after a long six months of serious pain, and its just now that I can sit at the desk again. I was finaly diagnosed after months of not knowing, and got the surgery like a week later, been out of work for like a month. It sucked there for a while, but I am %95 back to normal (the magic of modern medicine for sure!) DT discography

Thanks a ton for your work on Dream Theater discography! I took it off my watchlist for a little bit and now that I brought it up again, it looks 1000x better. I was adding an intro to List of Dream Theater songs by lyricist (I don't even know if it's a legit list) it shouldn't be too difficult to get it to FL status, since pretty much all of the songs are listed. If you need anything on the discog, or want to work on any other albums, don't hesitate to let me know! Blackngold29 20:36, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi Burningclean. The nice folks over at WP:METAL pointed me to you with my questions as to how discographies are done here on enwiki. I'm currently working on porting info from the Danish article on Children of Bodom discography to my sandbox, in order to shape it to look like Meshuggah discography - I take it that that is how a discography should look? Right now, I'm in the process of tracking sources, since I kinda forgot to write them down when I created the Danish article :-/. Anyway, if you have any tips, I'm all ears :-).
