The article Chaudhary Altaf Hussain has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Qamar Shaheen Babur requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ~Excesses~ (talk) 10:31, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Evading article protection

[edit]

If an article has been repeatedly created and deleted, discussed at a deletion discussion which has confirmed that it should remain deleted, and the article title has been protected to prevent further creation, then it is not acceptable to try to evade that protection by creating it under a different title. AFD discussions

[edit]

Please note that the purpose of an WP:AFD discussion is to determine if sources used on a page demonstrate the subject is notable. If you have concerns about another editors' behaviour, that is an issue for another page, such as wikiquette alerts, user requests for comment and also general discussions on the user's talk page. Not AFD. The kind of short, procedural note left by LadyofShallott is so you can modify your behaviour to comply with wikipedia's expected guidelines for behaviour. Some other points:

  • It doesn't matter if a page was created by an account with a conflict of interest. If a non-COI account has reviewed the page and found that they pass notability, the page remains. Ehsan Sehgal is a notable poet and journalists, as demonstrated by numerous articles that discuss his life and work in depth. There is no "double standard" - Khan may have written numerous pieces in newspapers and scholarly journals, but he has not received widespread attention for this and therefore is not considered notable per our standards.
  • Users are permitted to have two clearly labelled accounts, per Wikipedia:Sock puppetry#Legitimate uses and Wikipedia:Sock puppetry#Alternative account notification. Both of the accounts used by Justice007 and Nolelover meet these criteria.
  • Please read the policies and guidelines other editors cite on pages. You have said that Khan passes the notability guidelines - when he obviously does not. I have seen no indication of meeting any of the nine criteria found in WP:PROF#Criteria. If he meets one of these nine, indicate which one and the source that substantiates it.
  • AFD discussions are not about personality. They are about sources. Please focus your comments only on whether sources are adequate to establish notability.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Attached Department moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Attached Department, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 18:36, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Uniform Force

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Uniform Force. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Uniformed services. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Uniformed services. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. CataracticPlanets (talk) 22:36, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sub Jail Chakwal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://prisons.punjab.gov.pk/sub_jail_chakwal. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. Hello, JC Bills. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Additional Chief Secretary Home, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
