Hello, Significa liberdade

Thank you for creating Abir Mukherjee.

User:Vermont, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Hello! I'm happy to see this article. My concern at present is that most of the content about the Abir himself is from his interview with Historia Magazine. Do you know if there's any secondary sources available that can be used instead? I've had a difficult time finding any.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Vermont}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

DYK for Alena Analeigh Wicker

On 9 August 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Alena Analeigh Wicker, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Alena Analeigh Wicker is the youngest Black person to be accepted into medical school in the United States and the youngest person to work as an intern at NASA? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Alena Analeigh Wicker. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Alena Analeigh Wicker), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Babel

I recently saw your new article Babel, or the Necessity of Violence about R.F. Kuang's latest novel. Great job, especially the reviews section! I am slowly working my way through your citations and I have yet to make any corrections. It is good that you are including the names of the reviewers in the citations (something which many editors neglect) and even wiki-link the notable authors (at least, the ones with WP articles). I hope that you should consider nominating the article for WP:DYK before the time limit expires.

I do have a few suggestions for improvement. (1) Should the title of the article be "Babel: Or the Necessity of Violence" with a colon and a capital "O" since the phrase "Or the Necessity of Violence" is actually a subtitle? and not what you currently have with a comma and a lower case "o"? (2) The plot section might look better if it could be expanded into a short paragraph of 3-4 sentences. How is magic involve in this novel? (3) I am confuse with the phrase that you had written, "Many reviews discussed Kuang's attempt to complicate understandings of academia in the 1830s". Seems to me that there is a word missing. Whose "understandings"? Are you implying bad writing by Kuang? Or bad writing by 19th century academics?

BTW, I have noticed that you had taken the article's book cover image from Goodreads.com, which looks like a 5th generation photocopy. If you want a better quality image for the same file size, may I suggest getting a copy of the book cover directly for the publisher and reduce the size of the image in Photoshop or Gimp (or have a Wikimedia bot automatically do it for you).

Keep up the good works! -- 23.25.58.41 (talk) 02:40, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into List of asexual, grey asexual, and demisexual people. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. WiR metrics

Women in Red metrics are compiled by a bot, so your edit to Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Metrics/December 2022‎ is not strictly necessary ... Lori Rader-Day would turn up on that list sooner or later (once a female/human wikidata item is created & linked to the WP article). For the most-part, adding entries manually is not harmful unless you add them to the wrong month (e.g. adding them to the month in which a draft was converted into a mainspace article, rather than the month in which the draft was started ... that'd wind up with two months counting the same article).

The couple of manual additions you've made which I've spotted were both absolutely fine & problem-free, but I'd still discourage you from continuing to make these additions, and instead trust the process which produces the lists.

Mainly, though, thank you for the articles & your work on WP; very welcome. --Tagishsimon (talk) 13:20, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

FYI. Your recent changes to Golden Kite Award introduced a lot of errors in the page. I've fixed them, but if I'd known how much work it would be when I started I probably would have reverted the changes instead. Please don't make large scale edits unless you're prepared to check them carefully for errors. Also note, while I didn't change this because it does generate the right output, using {{sortname}} for book titles is a misuse of the template. Use ''{{sort|Foo Bar|The Foo Bar}}'' instead. Norma Fleck Award

Thank you for your work on Norma Fleck Award, but please finish the job. You've left several lines of dubious markup:

{{sort|''{{Sort|Power of Style: How Fashion and Beauty Are Being Used to Reclaim Cultures|''The Power of Style: How Fashion and Beauty Are Being Used to Reclaim Cultures''}}''
{{sort|{{Sort|Last Safehouse: A Story of the Underground Railroad|''The Last Safehouse: A Story of the Underground Railroad''}}

There are about 20 lines with nested sort tags, which I don't think is right. I encourage you to visit WP:Linter. Installing and using lintHint helps prevent misnested tags, which are found in the first line listed above. Cheers! —Anomalocaris (talk) 00:48, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know! I'm not quite understanding how to user the linter, but I think I cleaned up the markup. Significa liberdade (talk) 01:46, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Improved, but there are still 18 lines with markup that begins |{{sort|{{Sort|... ... do you think this is correct? —Anomalocaris (talk) 07:40, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! I thought I did a search for them and they didn't show up the first time, but I went through and fixed a number more. Significa liberdade (talk) 17:50, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Much better! One more thing. In the editor, are you using "Show preview"? If you go to page history of Norma Fleck Award, edit your most recent version, and click "Show Preview", at the top appears this message:
Warning: Norma Fleck Award (edit) is calling Template:Sort with more than one value for the "1" parameter. Only the last value provided will be used. (Help)
When you see a "Show preview" warning, it's a good idea to figure it out and make it go away. In this case, it wasn't obvious to me what the problem was, so I copied the whole page into my sandbox and previewed, and then did a binary search until I had narrowed the offending markup to just a few table rows. At that point it became obvious that the offending markup was
|{{sort|1=|Inuksuk Book|2=''The Inuksuk Book''}}
|{{sort|1= |Kids Book of the Far North|2=''The Kids Book of the Far North''}}
so I removed the extra pipes in each of those lines, and that made the warning go away. —Anomalocaris (talk) 20:38, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I didn't know that. I typically go back and forth between Visual and Source editing to check for any issues, but nothing was immediately noticeable to me. I didn't realize the "Show Preview" displayed warnings!
Also, thank you for being so kind and patient with this. I've been editing Wikipedia for a while, but it's a constant learning process, and some people aren't as kind when it comes to making mistakes. -- Significa liberdade (talk) 15:21, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tag you added to the page

I saw you added tag to the [[Geraldine DeRuiter]] because this article

were not coved in news, But this this also found on news include The Washington Post and NBC news.

I removed this tag from page. I'm not entirely sure where you got the idea that was a reason to talk it's not meet notability could easily be seen as descriptively. Vikingsam (talk) 01:32, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Based on my reading of the article, it seemed like the blog may be notable, but the person not. The article indicates that DeRuiter is a writer at Everywhereist but it's not clear that it's her blog. This resulted in the notability tag. Further, merely having authored a book does not make person notable.
Additionally, it's worth noting that if you comment on someone's page, you'll want to be clearer about what you're commenting on. I edit a lot of Wikipedia pages, so I do not know offhand what edits I have made. In all communication, you want to make your point clear to whomever you're speaking. =) Significa liberdade (talk) 01:45, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit on Titan incident

Hi! I noticed this edit that you made on the Titan submersible incident page. I feel like this is probably quote overuse and borderline a copyquote issue, especially as it's all stuff that can (and should) be paraphrased. I rewrote part of this in this edit but there's probably a bit more that can be done if you want to look into that—namely, the "Background" and "Search-and-rescue operations" sections.
