Editing

Hello Dubstar44,

Thank you for your comment on my page.

I noticed that recently you have made lots of edits in Wikipedia. Some of them are improvements, some of them seem to be personal preferences, but unfortunately you also introduced many errors. For example

- Changing its to it's when it is used as a possessive pronoun, e.g. in Districts of Japan

- Arbitrary addition or removal of articles, such as in Count of Ameal, king is usually used without an article

- Ignoring the capitalization of names, such as Asian Games in Ehsan Ghaem Maghami

- Removing words when that does not make it any clearer, such as "a 20-year period" in Media depictions of body shape

- Changing quotes, names, article titles, etc. They are what the author created and not what you think it should be. Example: changed "at least on a monthly basis." to "every month." in Media depictions of body shape, and changed Subshine to Sunshine in Lorraine (band)

- Changing references, categories, wikilinks, etc., which causes error messages end breaks the link. An example is changing the A in "District Court's Anti-suit Decision" to lower case in the article Microsoft Corp. v. Motorola Inc.

- Changing the meaning of a sentence without any reference to a source, such as the removal of the word for in "In the 1950s, 37,000 shoes were produced for all over the world." in Saint-Jérôme

- You seem to dislike the word own, because I saw that you removed it several times. But often it has a useful place in a sentence and removing it does not make it any clearer.

- Other grammar errors, such as changing was to has in Ehsan Ghaem Maghami

Just to name a few.

My suggestion would be

- If you change a sentence, read it again to see if the flow is good and if it makes sense, keeping in mind what the article is about. For example, if you had realized that you were editing the article about Amanda Swimmer, you probably would not have added an article in front of her name several times.

- Use the Show changes button to review your changes

- Especially if you changed links, categories, or references: use the Show preview button to check if they still work

As you said, you go quickly through the articles to see if anything needs to be changed. Maybe it is better to pay more attention to the quality of your edits than to how quickly you can edit them.

In cases where there are errors in an edit and no significant improvements, I undo the entire edit. If some of the changes are improvements, I only change the errors, such as in Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Berlin.

I hope this helps Keesal (talk) 18:21, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

thank you for understanding i will look into them a bit more :) Dubstar44 (talk) 18:23, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Handlova building fire moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Handlova building fire, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2008 Carmen road collision requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSMAN93388. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wikipedia and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello Dubstar44! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 19:56, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notability and various vehicle accidents

You have created many single sentence stubs for bus crashes sourced to single news report. These have been moved to draft space to give you an opportunity to add more sources to show that notability is met. Instead of improving these drafts, you have just submitted the same article without addressing the issue as you did here, and several others. Please put in the effort to improve the draft before submitting, otherwise, you are just wasting AFC reviewers' time. -- Whpq (talk) 20:02, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seconding this. Please read WP:NOTNEWS as well. It's hard to tell because these articles were so short and underdeveloped, but a lot of these sound, while tragic, sound like routine auto/traffic accidents - not really what an encyclopedia aims to cover. Sergecross73 msg me 14:11, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Final warning - the failure rate of your article creations is far too high. If you don't stop and start learning our notability guidelines better, your account is going to be temporarily blocked from editing. Please slow down. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 02:50, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
