Actually...

I have a sad suspicion that it might not be all over just yet. Nothughthomas will probably log on tomorrow and see the block and a #$%@storm might ensue. Hope I'm wrong, but we'll see. XXX antiuser eh? 06:50, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If that happens, all they can do is edit their talk page. I am almost certain they will say or do something stupid that will convince the rest of the admins that they can't be trusted. But I won't be going there, lest NotHughThomas accuse me of baiting her, just make sure that you don't leave any talk page messages there. For me, I'm going to read the page with interest, but as a spectator and not as a participant. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 06:53, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would just like to say thank you to NotHughThomas for being so civil and for withdrawing from the project without much drama. Perhaps it might be best to remove a number of user talk pages from your watchlist? Thanks! - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 08:49, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I speak too soon - they've added three unblock templates before their talk page was protected. I guess she didn't mean any of what she said. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 03:19, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

With respect to your coments at the above-captioned talk page, I have acceded to

  • your order "don't readd it back in again" by not re-inserting the commentary; and
  • your implicit threat that "we'd better get some answers".

However, I note that your tone is unnecessarily minatory and disagreeable. It is certainly not becoming of an admin. Bongomatic 10:01, 4 February 2010 (UTC) Should you wish to reply, please do so here. I will watch this page for a few days, so no {{talkback}} or other comment on my talk page is required.[reply]

Your sarcastic assertion that the contributor should apply to oversight when they were clearly concerned with how the editor review would reflect upon their reputation was unwarranted. You also reverted the review, even though it was by a troll/disruptive editor who has now been indefinitely blocked. Furthermore the "review" (if you could call it that) contained unsubstantiated assertions that the editor was a POV-pusher. Unfortunately, I must continue, as you also said that editors who put themselves up for review should just take these sort of comments from such editors, and there is nothing they can do to it. That is ridiculous, if this was the case then I doubt anyone would put themselves forward - certainly these people have a great deal of courage for doing so, and I believe they should be sheltered from unreasonable attack. You also cited the purpose of the editor review, but you neglected to say in what way the review was constructive, and more to the point you forgot to note that normal behavioural policies are expected and the norm for each editor review. I stand by my comments. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 10:06, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I totally and unreservedly retract the statement that asserts Bongomatic was being sarcastic about oversight. This was a failure of WP:AGF, was unwarranted and it was unfortunate I made this statement. I apologise to Bongomatic for any distress this may have caused. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 11:04, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apology accepted. No distress caused in the first place. The point about GF at the discussion, and about your tone and (potentially unintentional but nonetheless perceived) veiled threats here has nothing to do with the merits of who is right or wrong. As you are an administrator, such actions are particularly regrettable as they come with an implicit possibility of a summary block—and in the process suggest that you might decide to take administrative action on issues that you have become involved in as an editor—a perception I'm sure you do not intend to project. Bongomatic 01:03, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would definitely not have blocked you over this issue. I'm sorry about my tone, but I was extremely concerned about the review that was posted, which in my view and the view of others (and now confirmed by the original editor) was an attack on AntiUser and not meant to be constructive. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 01:06, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, no distress caused (I have a reasonably thick skin), and I posted my comments here (you may have seen that I had originally put them at the review talk page) because they were for your consideration as an editor and an admin, not to air any personal grievances. I have no more to say on either the review or your actions relating thereto. Bongomatic 01:21, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, your comments are noted and appreciated. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 01:23, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Scribble Maps

Hello,

I am new to Wikipedia so I am trying to understand. What separates a stand-alone application (which are listed in bulk on Wikipedia) from a rich internet application, and what constitutes importance? Scribble Maps is the first flash based RIA that has full layer support for KML. I would like your advice on how I could of improved the article.

Thanks,

JonathanDMWagner (talk) 21:51, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jonathan, the problem with the article is that it didn't seem to have any reliable third party references. I am happy to undelete and move to your userspace to work on this, or alternatively I can undelete and take it to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion where further community discussion can be had.
If you are associated with Scribble Maps then may I suggest reading up on our article on confict of interest before you continue, if you haven't already. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 22:39, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am in a COI, but I tried to stay as neutral as possible, so I would like it to be moved to the articles for deletion so it can be at they very least debated, and made as neutral as possible. If someone comes to wikipedia and types in Scribble Maps, they're looking for information on this application, so I would like that information to be there. As for references, all kinds come up on Google. JonathanDMWagner (talk) 08:08, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! We seemed to be reviewing the article at the same time. I was just declining the CSD, just as you were deleting it! I was also going to revert it to the last time it was a redirect, only because the page has been a redirect for a significant period of time in the past, so it should be deleted by RFD, or reverted to the redirect. I agree that the article shouldn't exist in it's "Up and coming You Tube sketch show", but I don't think it is a straight-forward deletion. Anyway, I'm not into wheel-warring, so I thought I would run it past you first. Would you object to me pulling up the old redirect version? Stephen! Coming... 23:11, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No probs, if you think it isn't a speedy deletion candidate I have no issues with you undeleting :-) Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 23:15, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorted. Having had a look at what it redirects to, I think it might be a candidate for RFD. I'll have to look at it when I have a bit more time. At the moment, my bed is calling! Stephen! Coming... 23:26, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Closing Ffd Debates

Hi formerly Ta bu shi da yu. Just a courtesy note. For images that have been deleted without comment in Ffd (such as the ones I have done where they are uncontested), User:AnomieBOT can do the closure and save you an edit. I see that you are closing the one for File:JD Salinger.jpg - I have been looking at this today and deciding if I have time to close it, but have not yet analysed the debate (though I can see the OTRS complaint) - I hope you chose wisely as any decision is going to be contentious - Peripitus (Talk) 03:39, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah... no probs. I'll let the bot do these in future. Sorry about that. I'm still reading through the J. D. Salinger deletion. I'm a fool for getting involved, no matter what I do I know that someone is going to scream at me. As I said in the edit summary... this is going to take a while. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 03:48, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing - there is a very useful script - see the first line of USer:Peripitus/monobook.js for FfD's. It displays a thumbnail image of non-deleted files next to the debate. Incredibly useful I find - Peripitus (Talk) 03:52, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nice. Well, I've just written a mammoth justification for that J.D. Salinger image decision. Hopefully that will be the end of it, but something tells me it won't. We'll see. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 05:37, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help Me

I would like to ask for guidance how to make an article page that contains general information about the TOP 1 Oil. I have tried to create a page about it but you say that my page was breaching unambiguous advertising or promotion issue. I tried to compare my writing with an article that talked about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castrol Castrol Brand, and my writing seems to have the content that is not much different from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castrol pages. Thanks for your help. (Ainsleycole (talk) 10:40, 5 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Hi Ainsleycole, I think the main reason that it got flagged as an advertisement is that you used a number of superlatives in describing the company. This is suitable for marketing literature and advertisements, but is strictly not allowed in Wikipedia. I strongly recommend that you read our neutral point of view policy before recreating the article. You must also be able to find external sources that demonstrate the notability of the company, unfortunately these can only largely come from reliable sources. Please see Wikipedia:Verifiable sources for more information on this.
If you could provide me with some verifiable sources that give information on the significance of this company, then I will consider unsalting the article and restore it to a page in your userspace, after which you can edit this freely. When it is finally ready, please only then consider moving to main article space.
Alternatively, I can undelete the article and submit it to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, however in its current form I must warn you that it will almost certainly be deleted. The other alternative is that you can contest my deletion at deletion review. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 11:01, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re Crillon Fashion Show (Hoax?)

Hallo I see you decided to delete this article referring to it as a Hoax. It may sound a bit ridiculous to you that this kind of event is so popular in this day and age.

Everything in it is factually correct. Let me now what kind of evidence you need if you don't believe me! There are no links to newspaper articles that exist, because in 1991 they were not on line and haven't been put on line since.

Kind regards

Fiona —Preceding unsigned comment added by Divento (talkcontribs) 10:43, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fiona, I apologise for deleting it as a hoax, the following may be cold comfort but I have undeleted and deleted as a non-notable event. Certainly I do not mean to have offended with that deletion reason, unfortunately that was what it was tagged as and this is what I deleted as. For the record, I don't find it ridiculous at all, my mother loves these sort of things and she is a woman of good taste, if somewhat old fashioned.
The reason that this was tagged in this way is because it has no references with which we can verify the information. It also, unfortunately, means that we have no way of knowing the notability of the article. It is actually possible to cite newspapers on Wikipedia, even if they aren't online.
I think the problem may be that nobody has pointed you to any guides or policies on Wikipedia. There is a very good article that guides new editors through how to contribute to Wikipedia - that article is Wikipedia:Five pillars. We also have an excellent resource for newer editors at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page. If you were to visit there firstly and ask for some help to understand how to edit on Wikipedia, I would be more than happy to undelete the article and move it to your user page where you can work on it to get it to a standard that proves how notable the event is and improve the article quality.
Please understand that I really have no more power than any other editor, except that I can do a few administrative functions on the site, such as delete pages, blocked editors and lock pages so that others cannot edit them, and I can only do these things in a very limited set of circumstances. I will not be able to sway consensus one way or another if the article is eventually taken to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, which can be very confronting, especially if you are new to Wikipedia. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 11:14, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Salinger FfD closure

I don't normally thank admins who close deletion debates in favor of the position I was supporting (I think it's tacky and smacks of currying favor), but I am doing so here, mainly because I was about to post the results of my communication with UNH regarding the image.

The gist: They have no problem with us exhibiting it per se. They just want proper attribution (which they got), notice on the page that it shouldn't be copied (already covered by "Use of this elsewhere may be copyright infringment") inline credit to Jacobi in the article infobox a la Edward Steichen and the image reduced to less than 300px. So I'm going to take care of those latter things as well.

And, while we're at it, nice to see you back. It's been a long time. Daniel Case (talk) 16:21, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Tim Harrison Page

Hello, my name is Tim Harrison and for the first time I tried to put up a page about myself which was deleted by you.

I believe that I meet the criterion of credible individuals as many of my peers are on Wikipedia and virtually all events of which I have been artistic director at one time or another also appear here.

My own music has beem worked on by Stan Rogers and Daniel Lanois and I have recorded eight original CDs which have garnered world wide review, and as a recording engineer have recorded 15 CDs of other artists which have been released world wide.

You deleted my page because there was no reference to the Owen Sound Summerfolk Festival which in fact is referenced on the Owen Sound[1] page and the Mariposa Festival[2] is referenced on its own page as is the Northwind Festival, all of which I have been artistic director of at one time or another.

SO...how do I publish this page now, and how do I prevent editors from taking it down again...I believe I meet the Wikipedia criteria.

Tim Harrison

Thpharrison (talk) 12:19, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Civil reforms

Howdy Tbsdy. I think Giano's comments & edit summary (fascist stuff) were meant for me, as I'm the one who used the "...wise to reform" comment. GoodDay (talk) 22:54, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I realise, but then he has not added anything to the discussion except mean-spirited sniping. Why should be allowed to continue this behaviour? I say, remove him from the conversation if he has nothing to add. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 22:56, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He's locked horns with administratros in the past, over being blocked for civilty breaches (mostly getting the blocks reversed). Therefore, it's not a total surprise, he'd be against strengthening administrators in this area. GoodDay (talk) 23:05, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So he's disruptive then. Look, I don't really care much about Giano and I'll stay as well clear of him as possible. However, I'm not going to disengage from the policy proposal, so if he thinks he can constantly snipe without any productive discussion I might as well ask the participants whether his comments should be removed. It will probably be declined, but then at least I've tried. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 23:09, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ya gotta do what ya feel is right, nobody can fault a fella for that. Most important, don't leave the discussion (on account of Giano's comments), stick to your values. GoodDay (talk) 23:13, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I wasn't planning on leaving it! I'll probably withdraw that suggestion and just start off new threads when Giano makes an ad hominem attack. Hello, I noticed you blocked User:Human Rights Believer, well, it seems we have another sockpuppet of his, User:Crackajack Mac. This edit made me suspicious, and User:FkpCascais seems to agree with my suspicion. Could something be done about this right away, instead of waiting for him to troll more talk pages? Thanks, --Cinéma C 06:20, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question about a deleted Article.

I'm writing to inquire about your deletion of the Stephen G. Post article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_G._Post). I'm pretty new to the non-consumer aspect of Wikipedia (though as an undergraduate I made a few edits), so I apologize in advance if these questions are irritatingly naive or asked frequently. I’ll try to make them as straight-forward and precise as I can at least.

The questions are roughly going to be getting after why it was deleted and how—if it needs to be simply recast— it can be re-written to make it better.

I looked at the rationale for the deletion, and I just want to make sure I understand it correctly. The relevant clause seems to be: “with no credible assertion of public domain, fair use, or a free license.”

My first question is: If the copyright owner is contacted and gives permission, would it be possible to reverse the deletion? I ask because I work with Stephen and I’m fairly certain he’d give permission for material from his personal site, and I could probably get permission from the University for using material from that site. If that wouldn’t resolve the issue, I’m probably missing something, so if you could either explain it to me or point me to the right place to figure it out. [I don’t mean to be presumptuous here. I’ve worked in tech support and know how awful such questions can be if there is a published manual. I’ve spent a few hours digging through Wikipedia pages explaining how things work, but I’m starting to get the impression that it’s somewhat analogous to riding a bicycle where you have to actually do the work to understand the technicalities.]

If it’s not possible to reverse the deletion, is it for some reason inadvisable for me to simply write a new article that uses and footnotes this information? Basically “writing in my own words” what is there so that it’s not a copyright infringement.

Thanks so much for your help in this matter!

kukudhi

please put the kukudhi page back up. I was using it and other breeds of vampires in my vampire mythology class and when I went to put the finishing touches on my paper and to give credit it was gone. Mythology is not a hoax any more than having an entry on Zeus or bigfoot. The Kukudhi is an actual name for a mythical breed of vampire by the Albanians. by labeling it a blatant hoax you disregard and disrespect a whole culture's ancient beliefs.

We'll need some references before this can be restored. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 22:03, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You asked for references, I'm not sure what you mean by that but I can give you what I have. The following is from the book I haven't returned yet to the library.

"Kukudhi = An Albanian name for the final stage in the development or transformation of the vampire. According to custom in some regions of Albania, an undead takes time to grow fully into the shape and powers of a vampire, becoming stronger the longer it survives. The last period of growth is called Kukudhi in Albania, and upon reaching this state the vampire is able to live at home during the day, no longer required to return to its grave, and is even able to travel to other lands, supposedly as a merchant." The Vampire Encyclopedia by Matthew Bunson on page 148

There are also talks about it in Dudley Wright's "Vampires and Vampirism: Legends from Around the World", Montague Summers's "The Vampire - his Kith and Kin" Peter Haining's "A Dictionary of Vampires" but as I have already returned them to the library I will have to check them out again before I can quote them for you.

Thanks for responding to me

So that is my problem because? Why does this editor get so much slack? - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 22:27, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but this is an official warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on User talk:GiacomoReturned. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. I realise that templating the regulars is regarded as improper, but I have my own views as regards that - I think that long term contributors should be boilerplated if they violate the rules. You might be a little bit angry about that, wondering why I should be permitted to act like this simply because I feel differently about something. You might think I am insensitive. You might be right. So might Giano. LessHeard vanU (talk) 22:34, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's nothing like Giano taking over a discussion and accusing me of talking behind his back, which I didn't. I don't understand why you give that editor so much slack. Especially as I didn't in fact talk behind his back. Are you saying I did? - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 22:36, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am not saying anything of the sort - I am saying, "Please don't post on GiacomoReturned's talkpage in the next 24 hours", and I am offering to discuss the wider picture. Please consider it. LessHeard vanU (talk) 23:00, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Letting Giano get away with stuff is one thing, but to admonish and even threaten to block someone who does not choose to let him get away with stuff really makes me wonder about the future of Wikipedia. Chillum (Need help? Ask me) 23:16, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, wholeheartedly. It is a ridiculous notion that certain editors may act as they please, but woe betide those of us who--gasp--defend ourselves. → ROUX  01:27, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think LessHeard would ever have done this :-) From my understanding on Giano's talk page he's trying to calm the situation down, and for that I'm quite grateful. I'm also grateful that folks like Chillum are concerned for our project! I very much want to disengage with Giano now, if only he would let me. I've been forced to get diffs to defend myself, but I won't be using them unless he makes the accusation again.
I appreciate both your comments, Chillum for his kindness in defending me, and LessHeard for his kindness in trying to resolve conflict between myself and Giano :-) We're all friends here, and for the record I have a huge amount of respect for LessHeard. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 23:19, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps my impression was caused by me taking the wording of the template as the literal words of LessHeard. Perhaps he did not mean to say that you were being disruptive, or that your postings were a controversial change or that you might get blocked for it. I see nothing wrong with templating the regulars, as long as the wording of the template is what you mean to say. Regardless I am willing to accept that it was just an unfortunate choice of template content and take it in the spirit that you are taking it. Chillum (Need help? Ask me) 00:39, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unitanode's comments

  • This edit was not a great idea. Taking it upon yourself to remove an editor's comments from one discussion, and place them in their own thread is practically begging that editor to become more angry with you. UnitAnode 00:05, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Lots of other editors were getting confused. That editor is already angry and disruptive, I doubt I've made him more angry. Certainly I don't see why we should put up with disruption on the scale that they are making. The thread was about changes to the policy text, I don't see how any of the thread I moved is relevant. Hijacking threads in this way is really not acceptable. If the editor is now getting so angry they can't contribute, then I would suggest the editor is the one with the issue, and they might want to consider disengaging from the conversation. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 00:11, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
      • Your removal of his comments was a terrible idea, period. You had to know it would only escalate things, and as such, your move was pretty disruptive in itself. You clearly don't want to look at what you did wrong in this matter, so I'll disengage from you now. But just know that what you did was not acceptable. Scottaka UnitAnode 00:19, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What happened next

What happened next with this discussion is actually pretty interesting. Unitanode said that he was going to disengage from my talk page, and I marked this thread as over with my customary "End of correspondence" user template. Then the following occured:

  1. He removed the tag and added another message.
  2. I removed the comments and replaced the template.
  3. I sent him a polite message asking him not to remove the template, and also that I thought that from his remarks that the conversation was over.
  4. He reverted my message
  5. He then created a new thread about the same topic on my user talk page
  6. I then removed the new thread, as clearly the conversation was over.
  7. I then sent him a message telling him that the conversation was over.
  8. ... to which he reverted with the edit summary of "You are not welcome here. I've told you that. If you continue, I will consider it to be harrassment.."
  9. ... and then he sent the following message to me:
Thank you for acknowledging receipt of the warning with your removal of it. Cheers, Scottaka UnitAnode 02:08, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  10. So I revert (again) and send him a final message noting the quite ridiculous hypocrisy
  11. ... to which he reverts with the edit summary "now you go from baiting and harassing Giano to harassing and baiting me? good luck with that. and stop now. you're becoming quite a master harasser and master baiter; i've told u to leave, now leave"

Now whom is harassing whom? All very amusing really. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 02:43, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Guitar Magic Evolution Software

Hi Tbsdy,

My addition of Guitar Magic Evolution Software was deleted as a commercial adveristing / promotion addition. I looked at the post regarding the deletion of Jym fitness and looked at FitBit in Wikipedia and really see an outright hypocrisy in the system. For example in my field Amplitube by IK Multimedia is here. Both FitBit Tracker and Amplitube Line 6 and its guitar POD, are totally commercial additions to the encyclopedia. The fact that they have more press - for example regarding FitBit which you do say should be deleted but isn't, you also mention that this article seems to be cited in quite a few more reliable sources, such as TechCrunch, the MIT Technical Review, and it shows notability in that it was launched at TechCruch50. Yes more money for reviews, more commercialism. That is the essence of pumping and advertising a product. It is simply discrimination that some commercial companies and products are allowed and not others. There is no question that this policy completely defeats the purpose of some form of fairness or truth to the whole non-commercial product promoting policy. I don't see how any sane or educated person would not be angered or disturbed by this outright oxymoron implementation of policy. (Please note I am questioning the whole policy - not a personal slight) We all have enough negativity on our plates. I will be very clear and upfront, why shouldn't I add a commercial product to help with promotion, why should there be any pretense that it matters when of course we have many additions that are allowed that are simply, plainly that as stated above. The idea of noncommercial additions is noble, noteworthy and "makes sense", but it reminds me of our failing government that has rules for the little people and then exceptions and bypasses for the big boys and others. I simply ask that you add my page or please delete the pages for FitBit, Amplitube, Line 6, guitar POD, and others like this. It would then be a fair system. Regards - handle Telly Ohara —Preceding unsigned comment added by Telly Ohara (talkcontribs) 04:39, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LucidChart Deletion

I'm curious as to why the page on LucidChart was deleted. Methinks that it represents the ongoing movement to cloud-based visual-editing programs. What I don't understand is how a company like Creately can remain on Wikipedia when they are not doing anything that is a significant change. Their page seems more an advertisement than the one I had put up on LucidChart. I even referenced many popular blogs that reviewed LucidChart. Your help here would be appreciated. LucidChart merits a review.

Furthermore, my article was not up for an hour before it was deleted. It was not given enough time to be reviewed by others.

The sunny side of life

A joke: The duck at the grocery store

A duck waddles into the grocery store & asks the owner. "Quack, quack, quack, any duct tape?", the owner replies "We're a grocery store, we don't sell duct tape" the duck leaves.
For the next 3-days, the duck returns & asks the same question: "..any duct tape?". The owner (now frustrated) responds "I told you alreday 3-times, we've no duct tape, we're a grocery store.", he then warns "If you come back here tomorrow, asking about duct tape again? I'll nail your flat feet to the floor". So the duck leaves.
The next day, the duck returns. "Quack, quack, quack, any nails?", the owner replies "no", the duck then asks "Any duct tape?". GoodDay (talk) 16:21, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

Look, I do not understand what is wrong with my List of Italian regions GDP pages. Literally, nothing is copied! Seriously, you can look, and not one phrase was copied from the source. It takes time to write these pages, and I can assure you that there is no copyright infringment. The only things which are the same are the statistics, but that is obvious, since how can I quote the statistics of a source without making them the same. It takes work, and I would appreciate you receiving an answer by me about the pages, since, I actually see nothing wrong, and in my eyes, this is either thoughtless vandalism or a huge misunderstanding. I would please like you to list all the things which are "copyright-breaking" and we can discuss this. But, I am getting pretty annoyed of turning on my computer and finding deleted pages with a notice saying "copyright-breaking" without having actually told me what the problem is (i.e. what particular phrase or sentence I put which is copyright breaking). Now, what about SAW: Make-A-Wish?

You gonna do the AfD honors for this one too? --Orange Mike | Talk 21:10, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hehe, I just read that deletion debate... I don't think they "got it". Chillum (Need help? Ask me) 22:03, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed! lol :-) I'll do the honours. Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 00:10, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Told ya so

I warned you, Tabu. But nooooo, you had to go start a pissing match, didn't you ;) --TungstenCarbide XIII (talk) 23:43, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Meh, it's fine by me. If he wants to win I'll let him. If people are OK with the way he edits then there's not much I can do about it. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 00:15, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's the point. Many people like what Giano says. His message resonates with editors who work on content, editors who are sick and tired of morons like Chillum swaggering around the wiki like they are an elder statesman or something. --TungstenCarbide XIII (talk) 23:28, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image deletion

Further to your decision to delete the image from Once Upon a Midnight, the image itself is not "non-free" as defined by this site, so the deletion discussion is invalid. It was in fact used with permission of the photographer, and has been published in all the reviews and journal articles cited on the wiki article. The photographer has freely distributed this image. Furthermore, the comment that it is replacable is also clearly invalid as everyone knows cameras are not permitted in theatres. So it seems an odd and unjustified decision, especially as other wiki articles on theatrical productions contain production photographs and these are illuminating for those who have not seen the production to observe costume, lightning, style, mise-en-scène, character and so on. What, exactly, is the issue? (129.96.112.134 (talk)) —Preceding undated comment added 02:42, 11 February 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Take it to WP:DRV please. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 07:58, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't Get Discouraged

It's certaintly worth being careful when blocking on civility concerns, but it's something that eventually needs to be codified somehow: there are far too many people on Wikipedia who are just here to pick fights or make life miserable for other users. Doc Quintana (talk) 05:21, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Doc :-) I understand that... but given my stage in life I've got to watch the battles I fight. Giano is not someone I ever thought I'd be up against... and given that nobody stands up to him I couldn't possibly do this on my own. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 07:59, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd just ignore him. On another note, I was wondering if I would get your opinion on this. Doc Quintana (talk) 16:32, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't really have a big problem with it, but it's not a bad thing it's now deleted :-) Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 23:04, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

3rei Sud Est

Hey, wow...I haven't thought about this band in a while. The initial tagging was most likely a mistake on my part. IMO, retag with a fair use (assume non-free...i.e. website did not specify licence) or just delete it. Regards, nat.utoronto 10:19, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bummer, it's on commons now :( Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 11:21, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it's nominated for deletion there. So too are commons:File:1796 Draped Bust Small Eagle Quarter.png and commons:File:1955 doubled die cent.png which you deleted the local copies of (I had nominated them at FFD to get matters resolved rather than land Commons with our mess ...). It's a safe operating assumption - unless you know that the people involved have clue - that everyone who uploads images here will screw up and anyone who moves them to Commons will do likewise. What fun! Angus McLellan (Talk) 23:15, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Probably wasn't the best way forward on my end. Call me stupid, but I just can't work out the general deletion process on Commons :( Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 23:19, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A belated "welcome back"

Good to see you back on the wiki.

I was wondering, where is the main article about immigration requirements to Australasia? I think the subject of character requirements is notable enough for inclusion, but I'm not sure where it is to be found on the wiki now that that article has been deleted. Thanks, Tisane (talk) 11:18, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Tisane, I think the article is Immigration to Australia, or something like this. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 11:32, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Philadelphia Whites

Hi, just curious if you missed the following talk page for the recently removed redirects: Talk:1875 Philadelphia Whites season? It seems it is the last one of the speedys I sent up. If I'm in error, please excuse me.Neonblak talk - 18:08, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, sorry about that. Must have missed it - fixed now. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 22:14, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gibnews.net

I'm surprised that you called for a ban on its use. Can I request you take a close look at the site, and I'll look for a reply here. The false accusations of sockpuppetry etc are answered on the ANI page. --Gibnews (talk) 22:21, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I actually didn't say that. I said that you should be banned from using it and instead take it to the talk page. Your username, incidentally, is a COI violation, but as you've been editing for so many years it would be rather unfair to block you for this. But that doesn't mean you should be allowed to use the site your username is named after in articles. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 22:33, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Doc Holliday Voice Coach

A7 was the reason for deletion. All the information in the wikipedia are fact. Doc Holliday is well known in the music industry. Johnny Wright, brought him in to work with the Backstreet boys. He trained Brittany Spears to come up the half octave after her first album recording was re launched here in North America. He brought George Clintons voice back for Earth Wind and Fire. Holliday Media Inc is his own company. The Natural Voice technique is his own design and structured method of teaching with all rights reserved to Doc (Ronald) Holliday. This page should not be deleted as all information is valid and verifiable. - Benjamin Easterday (Director of Bus Dev/Brand management) Holliday Media Incorporated. Sadly I have had to block your account. Please create a new username that is not in violation of our username policy and we'll discuss this further when you have done so. - Tbsdy (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 22:46, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
