I'm on break for a while. I'll pop in from time to time but I just got real life busy.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 15:32, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My edits

I don't mean to abuse wikipedia with my edits, so please don't think I am. I'm just a little confused as to why my edits keep getting reverted just because they reference Project Fanboy. All of the edits I've made have to do with the subject matter the article pertains to. I don't understand why they are irrelevant simply because it points to Project Fanboy. For instance, references to interviews by Project Fanboy of an author have been removed, but interviews of the same author from other sources are allowed to stay (i.e. Kevin Moyers). Can you please help me to understand the reasoning behind this? Thank you, Millennium Cowboy (talk) 04:47, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Millennium, I didn't actually revert any of your edit so I'm not familiar enough with the situation to comment on it. The user that gave you the warning was User:Hu12. I suggest you ask this question to him on his talk page. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If Hu12 doesn't want to address you you can ask me again and I'll try to look through the records and offer an opinion.--Torchwood Who? (talk) 12:57, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

U Direct

I'll be posting references soon, please check out udirectnyc.com for some references, I'll be linking to videos as well. Since these are commercials some info might harder to find. Which references are you questioning specifically?

vandalism of my talk

I usually just leave it because they see it has stayed and return for more (that way the vandalism stays out of the mainspace). I've had other comical vandalism in the past [1], apparently I am proficient at "male stripper tasks". ;) James086Talk | Email 06:38, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Informal mediation

I would very much appreciate it - thanks! Apart from a reply on User talk:Helixweb I have not made any edits that conflict with his previous edits since the WP:ANI report. --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 09:13, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - I will. --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 09:17, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - any word from Helixweb? I'd like to see Helixweb's stalking reverts on Edamame and two other pages reverted. What are your thoughts? I also really don't want to see his/her messages sitting on my talk page. Can I revert those as well? --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 05:24, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your advice. Recent events on Two Chinas and other articles have seriously crippled my enthusiasm for Wikipedia. I might stick around but I won't be making any serious edits for the foreseeable future. Thanks again. --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 07:13, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Torch Need help

I understood what you said, and how I'm correct.. But let me just make sure. The website ITSELF...has to be spoken by reliable sources right? Not articles they've written..but about the site itself...Right? Cause if that's right--then go ahead with the deletion :)

Shacknews

Hey torch,

was wondering--why does Shacknews have a wikipedia entry? They aren't really referenced by any 3rd party reliable sources---basically have no sources at all. DavidGamingeff (talk) 05:23, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for John Gabriel Jones

Updated DYK query On 8 April, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article John Gabriel Jones, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

This was one you created through WP:AFC so extra thanks for that. BencherliteTalk 10:50, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You may have spotted that it's up as a double tag, along with Pluggy, another AFC contribution. Hats off to AFC! BencherliteTalk 11:34, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Guernica

Hi, Thanks for stepping in there, although I left a note on Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests just as you were leaving me a note. Frankly I don't know if Picasso ever knew of the Rubens before he painted Guernica. The bombing took place and Picasso painted a masterpiece. I was a little offended by the newbie's lack of knowledge and understanding about art and artists. Hopefully a softened tone might help, although even if Picasso knew the Rubens painting well, a footnote at best I'd say. Modernist (talk) 20:25, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's ok, If he stays on the talk pages, and researches the issues maybe he can find a reference. Although if you ask me, Picasso - the greatest artist of the 20th century, probably didn't need prompting, after the bombing. Modernist (talk) 20:48, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Intelitek

You got a speedy delete on Intelitek, right? It's back. I've tagged it but can we do anything about its creator? I know they can come back, but still..--Doug Weller (talk) 13:16, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Admin coaching

I am currently editing the table of admin requests to facilitate date sorting (using the format YYYY-MM-DD). I have run into trouble correcting your entry since it is listed as simply "June 11th" with no year. Please do me a favor and correct this entry so the sorting of the list can be useful again. Thanks, Padillah (talk) 18:49, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Thank You

Back in March you helped out on an unnecessary Britney "wackamole crazy" Spear's page with a template that I couldn't figure out how to put in place. I pretty much decided that I had better things to do than get into some kind of Wiki war using logic and reason against a legion of fans who are completely unarmed, so I let it be after my initial concerns. To clarify, this would be the page listing every unreleased Britney Spears track; an entire page that is just a list of songs that were never released by the greatest talent several million dollars worth of recording equipment and marketing has ever made popular, and a Wiki page that only continues to exist (despite being in clear violation of Wiki policy) because of obsessed fanboys/girls/llamas but I digress. I just now logged in again and while I haven't looked to see if the page is still there (I would lose what little faith I have in humanity...or really it would be mildly annoying, whichever came first), I appreciate your efforts. Thanks again. (KeeperOTD (talk) 15:01, 7 August 2008 (UTC))[reply]

broken AfD

Re AfD on ALT Linux: would you please do a quick google search on anything "not notable" this much next time?

A Linux distribution somewhat older than wikipedia and involved as a leader in nation-wide project for free software migration publicly year before being added to your deletion proposal isn't "not notable" at all, at least on this side of the Pool.

Thanks for vigilance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gvy (talkcontribs) 21:53, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Collectonian and Lord S are AfD'ing an article from DBZ again

They didn't even notify the talk page where consensus was just reached, this really is reprehensible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Tien_Shinhan#Tien_ShinhanJJJ999 (talk) 07:23, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfC news

Dear AfC participant,

  1. Msgj and Tnxman307 are organising the AfC challenge! It's a little competition to help improve some of the articles created through AfC and we are hoping that everyone will get involved. For level 1, you just need to bring a stub up to Start-class. Level 2 is improving a Start-class article to C-class. And so on. To get involved or for more information please see the competition page.
  2. Those of you who haven't reviewed an article recently might not have noticed the new process that was implemented this year. Reviewing articles is now more enjoyable than ever :) You might like to give it a try. All articles waiting for review are in Category:Pending Afc requests. (Please read the updated instructions.)
  3. Please consider adding {{AFC status}} to your userpage to keep track of the number of articles waiting for review. At the time of writing we are officially backlogged, so help is needed!
  4. There is currently a proposal to bring the Images for upload process under the umbrella of WikiProject Articles for creation. The rationale is that both processes are designed to allow unregistered users to take part more fully in Wikipedia, and partipants in each process can probably help each other.

If you no longer wish to receive messages from WikiProject Articles for creation, please remove your name from this list. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on CCPHOTOART requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Donnie Park (talk) 20:49, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article CCPHOTOART has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I cannot see a trace of third party reliable sources for this article, neither can I see any notability backed by third party reliable sources, hence nomination for this promotional article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Donnie Park (talk) 04:29, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Christie Goodwin, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christie Goodwin. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Donnie Park (talk) 13:01, 14 November 2009 (UTC) [reply]

Hello, Torchwoodwho. You have new messages at JohnCD's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Thanks

Thanks for your cooperation on the Javascript issue. If the old script is both buggy and rarely used, perhaps Henrik might consider deleting it? -- The Anome (talk) 15:29, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There has been some recent work into this, actually - Wikipedia:Newbie treatment at Criteria for speedy deletion. I think WereSpielChequers was looking into some sort of work on this, you might want to get in touch with them. Hersfold (t/a/c) 19:21, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Torchwoodwho! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 715 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Eduardo Iturralde González - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Murilo Endres - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  3. Aviva (actress) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Eduardo Iturralde González has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced BLP, August 2009

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. –– Jezhotwells (talk) 14:38, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have mentioned your name at Content noticeboard

In investigating the actions of 81.101.27.113 (also very likely 81.101.21.176), I have raised your involvement in helping him or her create the article Kampung Boy on 28 March 2008. Miskito Sambu

Dear Torchwood, I have received a notice that the article on Miskito Sambu that I am in the process of writing is lifted from another source. This is not the case, but rather the reverse, as I am writing it is being posted elsewhere. Beepsie (talk) 23:21, 12 August 2010 (UTC)BeepsieBeepsie (talk) 23:21, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I just started the article. May I please ask you to give me another half an hour to finish it? Thanks.--Mbz1 (talk) 00:26, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't move my comment or anyone else's comment without authorization. There is no precedent for this type of reformatting of afd talk pages. It confuses the chronological order. Good night, --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 05:12, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I ask that you please take a look at WP:CREATIVE, where being the creator of something highly notable grants notability to its creator without it being a violation of WP:INHERITED. I did a bit of work at Aubrey Ankrum and The God & Devil Show, and looked into just how much coverage his works have obtained[2][3][4] before reaching than conclusion. Comments? Your request for rollback

Hi Torchwoodwho. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY (TALK) 22:05, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Robbie Mannheim entry

Your recent note to me at talk page, I quote:

"Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page Talk:Robbie Mannheim has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Please use the sandbox for testing any edits; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing for further information. Thank you. Torchwood Who? (talk) 12:53, 23 August 2010 (UTC)"

Torchwood Who, I did not make any unneeded or "unconstructive" edits ANYWHERE. Editor Anupam has already begun his takeover of that talk page and of the entire article. Now he'll say anything over there is unconstructive. I protest your interference and would like you to provide me with the EXACT quote and reason for its removal. Also if it is not too much, user Vespine (though I cannot speak for her, I know she concurs) and I would like to know if an ADMIN could bring a fresh pair of eyes to that situation. User Anupam is going to make our lives miserable, I can see that now! Will you help?76.195.82.134 (talk) 14:23, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
