Wakinoda Station (脇野田駅, Wakinoda-eki) is a railway station located in Jōetsu, Niigata, Japan. The station opened on August 15, 1921.

Hokuriku Shinkansen station
A station for the Hokuriku Shinkansen, tentatively named Jōetsu Station, is under construction approximately 120m west of Wakinoda Station. In order to facilitate transfers between the Shinkansen and the Shin'etsu Line, the conventional line's alignment will be changed so that it runs parallel to the Shinkansen starting just south of where the current line crosses under it, and the station moved so that it is west of the Shinkansen platforms. The track will then cross under the Shinkansen just north of the station, rejoining the old alignment. The original Wakinoda Station will be dismantled and the surrounding area incorporated into the rotary in front of the new station.
Note that the provisional name "Jōetsu Station", despite sharing the name of the city, is considered likely to change because of potential confusion with the Jōetsu Shinkansen and Jōetsu Line, neither of which go through this area.
