Hi, this is a message to notify you that you have made more than 3 reverts within the past 24 hours on an article. Please refrain from making any further reverts as this violates Wikipedia's rules about edit warring. Ecrusized (talk) 03:25, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 riots in France

I suspect, as one of the principal authors of the Yellow Vests protests entry, that I could probably be useful on this entry. However, I've noticed that you have become quite attached to the entry, to the point where you've already broken the 3-revert rule in the last hour:

I would be happy to collaborate, but do not wish to join a battleground. (There's plenty of that downstairs...) -- SashiRolls 🌿 · 🍥 23:01, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The three-revert rule does not apply to vandalism, which the fourth link was. The third link was antithetical to what was being discussed in the talk page. This is not 3RR, and simultaneously boasting your accomplishments is not professional. I explained why the one-sentence paragraphs were not useful. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 23:14, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
1) at 22:46 you reverted a sourced, good-faith edit. 2) It is useful to separate subjects, in order to expand upon them. It is a first step, not a final step. 3) Please remain cordial, the reference to YVM was to suggest that perhaps you might listen before you "explain". -- SashiRolls 🌿 · 🍥 23:22, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
22:46 destroyed the infobox. No expanding needs to be done. This is a background section. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 23:23, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for 2022–2023 Pentagon document leaks

On 9 July 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2022–2023 Pentagon document leaks, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that classified documents of the United States were partially leaked onto a Discord server for the video game Minecraft? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/United States documents leak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 2022–2023 Pentagon document leaks), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Orphaned non-free image File:Threads screenshot.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Threads screenshot.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:35, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Draft conflict

It appears that there has been a reduplication of efforts. Draft:2023 SAG-AFTRA strike has already existed for some hours now, with several contributors. Why did you create an article that already had a draft? Festucalextalk 19:16, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing against creating an article with a draft. The draft was less in-depth and used less reliable sources. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 19:23, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well. I'm a bit annoyed that all my effort is down the drain now. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort, and that's why I think you should have improved the draft if you found it to be insufficient. Festucalextalk 19:25, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I used some of the sources from that draft. It was not futile. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 19:28, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, so you actually saw the draft and decided to start a new one? That's worse. According to WP:DRAFTS: As the draft namespace is a common location for incubating articles (unlike user space), users are notified through Template:New page DYM when visiting a non-existent article whose title does exist in draft space, to prevent unnecessary creation of duplicates on current events. Festucalextalk 19:30, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ElijahPepe: I'm dropping the matter, but I want you to know that I'm very frustrated. Hours of my time have been completely wasted because of this. Festucalextalk 21:11, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
EP, I have to agree with festucalex that this was at minimum a breach of etiquette and kind of rude. Creating a page when there's already a draft currently being worked on is duplicative work, and using their sources takes credit for their work and denies them any recognition for that work. If this is something you think is perfectly fine, I disagree. The better option is to go help on the draft. Valereee (talk) 10:06, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing and source misrepresentation

Hi, ElijahPepe, I've removed a few sentences you'd written at 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike because they were too close to the wording of the original source. While paraphrasing sources is allowed, please be careful to not do so too closely, as the resulting text can still be a copyright violation. Furthermore, what you had written misrepresented the source in an important way: Vox is saying that shows such as those are an example of the broader problem with streaming shows, whereas you implied it was an issue writers had singled out. Both close paraphrasing and source misrepresentation are easy mistakes to fall into from time to time, but also very important things to get right, so please beware of these going forward. Thanks. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 17:45, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Arrest of Evan Gershkovich.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The flickr source includes the credit line "Photo by Kirill KUDRYAVTSEV / AFP" for the photo. AFP is a commercial news and photo agency. -- Whpq (talk) 21:20, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware, which is why the photo is intentionally low quality. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 21:22, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Images from commercial agencies are subject to speedy deletion WP:F7 because they do not meet WP:NFCC#2. WP:NFCC#3b has nothing to do with this. -- Whpq (talk) 21:27, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Federal Prosecution of Donald Trump (2020 election Case)

Hi ElijahPepe, I undid your revision on Federal prosecution of Donald Trump (2020 election case) because on July 27, a superseding indictment was filed against Trump in the classified documents case, so he’s been federally indicted three times, not two.
