April 2020

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page List of churches in Nigeria has been reverted.
Your edit here to List of churches in Nigeria was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (https://believersportal.com/history-of-assemblies-of-god-church-nigeria/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 03:51, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Dennis Burton, from its old location at User:TheEpistle/sandbox/Dennis Burton. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Sulfurboy (talk) 06:19, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Dennis Burton has been accepted

Dennis Burton, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Start-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. Most new articles start out as Stub-Class or Start-Class and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask at the help desk. Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.

If you would like to help us improve this process, please consider leaving us some feedback.

Thanks again, and happy editing!

This does not specifically require an administrator, so I have deactivated that and your duplicate help tag above. 331dot (talk) 12:59, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And as you asked for help on the draft itself, I am closing this request; please only use one method of seeking assistance, in order to not waste other editors' time. Thanks 331dot (talk) 13:02, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aaron D. Lewis moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Aaron D. Lewis, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon

Hello TheEpistle. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:TheEpistle. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=TheEpistle|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Template:Z159 Praxidicae (talk) 14:41, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User: Praxidacae, Praxidicae Thank you very much, I love criticism, because it brings out the best in us, so this is what I am looking for. Firstly, I have no association with Dennis Burton, Aaron D. Lewis or Bishnu Adhikar. These creation were simply made randomly. Dennis is a scientist who I found out while going through the Wikipedia:Requested Article pagee. Aaron is a Humanitarian who's work is important to Africans and Blacks. Bishnu is an actor whose movie I recently watched - I saw he didn't have a page and decided to create one. Instead of deletion, suggest you tell me where and what to remove and add to the article and I will be much willing to do that. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheEpistle (talkcontribs) 15:37, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bishnu Adhikari, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created, Draft:Chidi Okoroafor, was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

A tag has been placed on File:Dennis Burton.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. creffett (talk) 18:04, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, correction noted and implemented. TheEpistle (talk) 13:17, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

FYI

Notability and neutrality are separate, largely unconnected issues. It is possible for a subject to be notable, but their article to be promotional in tone. Contrariwise, it's possible for an article to be neutrally-written but unable to prove notability. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Onward to 2020 21:29, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you User:Jéské Couriano A little blue Bori for the thoughtful note. Which of them do you think I may have faulted.

It's mainly with this edit summary. I looked over the article and removed some puffery and did some light copyediting after. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Onward to 2020 22:21, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! User:Jéské Couriano A little blue Bori, many thanks! I acknowledge the puffery, may be unknowingly, nevertheless, true. Thanks for the lesson. TheEpistle (talk) 22:34, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 21

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Adrian Young, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Spence (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article Don Moen. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you.
