The Ferrari 246 P F1 was a Formula One race car prototype used by Ferrari in 1960.[1] It was Ferrari's first mid-engined car.[2] It is mid-engined, as the engine was in front of the rear axle, but described as rear-engined in references, as was the practice in 1960. Formula One car, using a Dino V6 engine of 2,417.33 cc (2.4 L; 147.5 cu in).[3][4]

It was also fitted with a 1.5-litre engine on occasion, e.g. at 1960 Italian Grand Prix, where it conformed to F2 regulations[4][5] and was also known as Ferrari 156 F2[6] or 156 P[7] when it was heavily revised for 1960 Italian Grand Prix as well as other races in 1960, including 1960 Solitude Grand Prix and 1960 Modena Grand Prix.[4][8][9]
