Kala Bakra village comes under the Bhogpur development block of Jalandhar district in the Indian state of Punjab.

About

Kala Bakra lies on the Jalandhar-Pathankot road. The village has its own railway station. Its area is 454 hectares with a population of 2456 individuals (according to the 1991 census). The village has its own primary and secondary school, govt hospital. The village holds two main jatt clans Dhaliwal and Rai, the latter also known as sarobadhi as they descended from sarobadh. Dhaliwals are prominently well established in the village as they are known as Lambardars and Sarpanchs. Kala Bakra is mainly known for being the home of Gurbachan Singh Rai OBI (Order of British India - the highest honour awarded to an Indian soldier at the time of the British Raj), a Subedar Major in the Indian army and Tug of War and Kabadi champion of Punjab and Col BS Rai aka Bunty. Kala bakra is also home to a famous Punjabi singer Rai Jujhar. The village has given many officers and soldiers to the Army like Col Bhupinder Singh Rai, Col HS
