Production
In February 2019, it was announced that Hulu had given the production a series order, along with ones based on Hit-Monkey, Tigra and Dazzler, and Howard the Duck, leading up to a crossover special titled The Offenders. The series was created by Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt both of whom were expected to write for the series and executive produce alongside Jeph Loeb. Production companies involved with the series were slated to consist of Marvel Television and Marvel Animation.[4][5][6] Oswalt will also voice MODOK.[7] In December 2019, it was reported that Marvel Studios will oversee subsequent development on the series after Marvel Television's closing and folding into the latter.[2] In January 2020, Hulu's Senior Vice President of Originals, Craig Erwich, revealed that "a few episodes of" the series were already finished,[8] followed shortly by the announcement of Aimee Garcia, Ben Schwartz, Melissa Fumero, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Beck Bennett, Jon Daly, and Sam Richardson as the series' cast.[1] At the end of the month, Marvel decided not to move forward with Howard the Duck, Tigra & Dazzler, and The Offenders, with MODOK and Hit Monkey continuing as planned.[9]
