Bagan is a federal constituency in Penang, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Dewan Rakyat since 1959.
The federal constituency was created in the 1958 redistribution and is mandated to return a single member to the Dewan Rakyat under the first past the post voting system.
Demographics
History
It was abolished in 1974 when it was redistributed. It was re-created in 1984.
2004–2016: The constituency contains the polling districts of Bagan Ajam, Permatang Tengah, Sungai Puyu, Kampong Bahru, Bagan Lalang, Taman Merbau, Taman Dedap, Taman Bunga Tanjung, Bagan Jermal, Kubang Buaya, Kampong Gajah, Jalan Mengkuang, Kampong Simpa, Mak Mandin, Taman Sukaria, Taman Melor, Taman Cantik, Bagan Luar, Telaga Ayer, Taman Bagan, Kampong Acham, Sekolah St. Marks, Bagan Dalam, Jalan Assumption.
