Mylakkadu is a small suburban village and junction in the Kollam district of the Kerala state in India.[1] It is near the town Kottiyam. There are a number of industries and temples in the village, with several festivals held at the locale as well.
Location
Ithikkara and Ithikkara River are nearby, as is NH 47.Mylakkadu is also connected to Kannanalloor and Kundara through Mylakkadu - Kannanalloor road.
Economy
Mylakkadu is well known on its clay and bricks industries. Travancore potteries and Regal are the oldest factories in Mylakkadu. These factories are started on the colonial period. Kottiyam, Paravur and Chathannoor are the nearest towns.[citation needed]

- There is a very tough slope on NH 47 58 km from Trivandrum and 13 km from Kollam. The Bridges & Highways authority have studied & reported this area as a "Dangerous Zone." Several road accidents have happened here with deaths and injuries. Some ideas and plans to modify this heavily sloped road have been suggested, but no changes have been made.[citation needed] In 2015, actor Sarath Kumar was killed Mylakkadu near Parippally after his bike collided with a lorry.[2]

Festivals
- Uchara Maholsavam is the main festival day of Adichanalloor village and Mylakkadu, (half of Onam on Makaram 28 / 9 or 10 February).
