A. D. Flowers (February 22, 1917 – July 1, 2001) was an American special effects artist who was perhaps best known for his work on Tora! Tora! Tora!. For which he won an Academy Award.

He was born in Texas, but raised in Oklahoma. After high school, he went to California. There he obtained a job at MGM Studios as a "studio handyman". He served in the US Navy in World War II on the USS Saranac (AO-74) in the Pacific War. After being discharged from the service he stayed in California and went back to work with a Hollywood studio. He died at age 84 of complications of emphysema and pneumonia.[1]

All 3 were in the category of Best Visual Effects. With one being a Special Achievement win.
