Baliari (also called Balihari) is a neighbourhood in Dhanbad in Jharkhand state, India.
Geography
The former census town was combined with other urban units to form Dhanbad Municipal Corporation in 2006.[1][2]
Baliari is part of Ward No. 12 of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation.[3]
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[4] Baliari had a population of 11,528. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Baliari has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 67% of the males and 33% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Economy
Collieries functioning in the P.B.Project Area of BCCL are: Balihari K.B., Balihari S.B., P.B.Project, Gopalichak, Pootkee, Bhagaband and Gopalichak 5/6.[5]
Transport
Baliari is on the Jamadoba-Chhotaputki Road. The nearest railway station is at Karkend on the Adra=Gomoh line.[6] [7]
