Dalljiet Kaur (also known as Daljeet Bhanot prior to her divorce) is an Indian television actress. She is primarily known for her portrayals of Niyati in Kulvaddhu, Anjali in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? and Manjiri in Kaala Teeka. She has also won Nach Baliye 4 with her partner Shaleen Bhanot. She is also famous for her current role of Karuna in Qayamat Ki Raat.

Personal life[edit]

Dalljiet Kaur was born and raised in a Punjabi family, with an army background:[1] her father is a retired Colonel[2] and her two elder sisters are in the defence services, as Air Force pilots.[3] Whilst working in Kulvaddhu she met Shaleen Bhanot,[4] whom she married on 9 December in the year 2009,[5] in Shaleen's home town of Jabalpur.[citation needed] She gave birth to their son (Jaydon) on 9 November 2013.

Career[edit]

In 2004, she won the title of Miss Pune, as well as being a finalist in a number of other pageants including, Miss Navy, Miss Mumbai and Miss Maharashtra Queen.[2] She made her television début in the Zee drama, Manshaa, and this was followed by appearances in CID, Aahat and Raat Hone Ko Hai.[6] Her first role as a protagonist in a drama was in Kulvaddhu as Niyati, a young girl from a royal Jodhpur family.[2]

Following the abrupt ending of Kulvaddhu,[7] Daljeet went on to depict the role of Shikha, the daughter of Veer Pratap Singh (Narendra Jha) and the possessive lover of Abhimanyu (Iqbal Khan) in Chhoona Hai Aasmaan.[8] At the same time, she also played the role of Suhana, the youngest sibling of the Dixit family in Santaan.

After participating in Nach Baliye 4, she took a break from acting[citation needed] and returned after her marriage to portray the role of Anjali Shyam Jha in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? She garnered a lot of fame by portraying the role of the male protagonist's very loving and doting sister.
