Hungary will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and will select their entry through a national selection format titled "A Dal" (which means "The Song"), consisting of two semi-finals and a final, organised by the Hungarian broadcaster M1.
A Dal
On 1 December 2011, MTV started the call for songs for their national selection. Entries could be submitted until 30 December 2011.[1] The participants of the semi-finals were chosen by a pre-jury out of all entries that have been submitted. Hungarian and foreign composers were allowed to send entries.[2] The names of the 20 acts and songs that were selected for the semi-finals were revealed on 10 January 2012.[3]
In two semi-finals, to be broadcast live on m1 and Duna TV World, four songs each will qualify for the national final: three will be chosen by a professional jury and another one by televoting.[4] In the final, televoting will select four super-finalists, and then the winner will be determined by the expert jury.

At Eurovision
Hungary competed in the second half of the first semi-final on 22 May and qualified to the Grand Final, where it finished in 24th place with a total of 19 points. .[5]
