The Nissan Livina (骏逸 [Jun Yi] in Chinese) is a compact MPV, introduced on July 6, 2006 by Nissan Motors and their Chinese affiliate, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company at the Guangzhou International Motor Show and scheduled to go on sale in December 2006.

Sharing the same platform with the first generation Nissan Note, the Livina was the first Nissan vehicle to debut in China before being released in other countries.

Power for the Livina comes from 1.5-liter, 1.6-liter, or 1.8-liter engines similar to the Nissan Latio. The 1.5 and 1.6-liter engines matched to the 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic. The 1.8-liter can be ordered with either 6 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearbox.

The Livina series is sold in Brazil, Middle East, South Africa, China, Taiwan, and certain South East Asian countries.

In 2008, the Nissan Livina X-Gear was introduced in Indonesia. Based on the Livina, the X-Gear has black over fenders, sporty rugged bumpers, and roof rail which made it looks like a crossover. The Livina X-Gear in Indonesia is powered by 1.5-liter engine, while the Brazilian X-Gear is motored by 1.6-liter Renault engine.

In early 2011, the facelift models of both the Nissan Livina and Grand Livina were launched in Indonesia by Nissan Motor Indonesia. Changes mainly focused on minor exterior changes such as the front grille, wheel design, side body molding, side turning signals, as well as additions of existing higher model features applied on the lower models. Interior change involves color changes from beige and brown to black.

The facelifted Grand Livina was offered in 1.5 S, 1.5 SV, 1.5 XV, 1.5 Ultimate, and 1.5 & 1.8 Highway Star model grades. The 1.8 XV and 1.8 Ultimate were discontinued. The XV and Ultimate shared the same sporty Autech front bumper as the Highway Star, but full body kits and sporty alloys wheels are exclusive for the Highway Star only.

The first generation Livina series are still offered in Brazil and South Africa after the All New Livina models were introduced in China and South East Asian countries.

In May 2013, Nissan launched the All New Grand Livina and Grand Livina X-Gear in Indonesia. All models are 7-seater, while the 5-seater Livina XR is discontinued and the X-Gear would be released later. The new models have revised front end, front fenders, and rear panels with distinctive tail lights and trunk garnishes. The rugged Grand Livina X-Gear comes with different front bumpers, black over fenders, black body cladding, and roof rails.

2014 Nissan Grand Livina 1.5 XV (L11, Indonesia)

Trim levels for the Indonesian All New Grand Livina are SV, XV, and Highway Star. All regular Grand Livina models have 1.5-liter motor, while buyers of the 7-seater X-Gear could choose the 1.5 or 1.8-liter MR18DE. The 1.5-liter HR15DE now employs dual injectors & dual variable valve timing control (VTC) matched to 5 speed manual or automatic Xtronic CVT. The 1.8-liter engine retained the 6 speed manual or regular 4 speed automatic. Full body kits are only installed on the Highway Star. In March 2014, Nissan Indonesia decided to end the production of Grand Livina X-Gear with 1.8-liter motor, citing lack of demand as its reason.

The All-New Grand Livina for the Malaysian market has the 1.6-liter HR16DE with either manual or CVT, or 1.8-liter with automatic transmission only.

Meanwhile, the All New Livina X-Gear 5-seater was introduced in China, and later also in Indonesia and other markets in September 2013. The redesigned 5-seater has the same front panels and trunk as the longer Grand Livina X-Gear. The Livina X-Gear for Indonesia is powered by the 1.5-liter engine. In the meantime the new 5-seater rugged style is the only Livina sold in Thailand and Taiwan. In these countries, the so-called Livina only is motored by the 1.6-liter engine.

In June 2014, Nissan Motor Indonesia introduced the new Grand Livina Highway Star by Autech. It has new sporty front bumper with bigger fog lights, new grille, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside it's equipped with black leather interior (instead of beige leather on the regular Highway Star) and audio switches on the steering wheel. The roof rails from the regular Highway Star was removed, although the rest of the car is unchanged.
